I’ve had to break things off down two women in the recent years (one was a marriage was possibility) and still deep down respect them. That is I didn’t blame them for my decision and it was agonizingly difficult decision to make. They were decent women and did nothing fundamentally wrong (e. g. cheating, abuse, lying about major issues)

But I think hard before major decisions and I knew there would be likely major trouble with both women in the future. So I knew they would be heartbroken but I did everything respectfully as possible. I did everything face to face while making eye contact and telling them they didn’t do anything wrong as a person. Told I respected them and I meant it. But it was the decision I had to make.

But I never had woman give me anything remotely close to that kind of respect when I got dumped. Instead I was once told straight to my face by a girl who I casually dated (and considered making it more serious) that “When I like someone I well tell them”. She decided to break it off with me and inferred she never told me she “liked me”. She then had f*cking nerve to ask if we could still be “friends”. I told her fuck no of course.

I also was (initially) respectfully dumped by another girl who a few weeks later literally told me “tough luck you’re an ex” when I informed her about a serious health issue I had at the time.

I’ve also had another girl completely ghost me after almost dating for a year after a minor argument (the relationship was getting rocky but still).

Obviously 99% of the time you will never actually “like” anyone you break up with. Rare exception is some sort of kind of tragic romance where you break up with person you “like” because you are pledged to marry someone else.

However you can respect someone you break up with if they never did anything to intentional harm you (abuse, cheating, etc). But from my experience women usually equate likeability with respect.

I’ve tried to take lessons from bad past experiences and not do the same to someone else.

For example I had one ex girlfriend ghosted me after dating for 9 months after a minor argument. A few years later I found myself in the reverse position (wanting to break up). Even though I didn’t want to see my soon to be ex face to face (because I knew she would go ballistic) I gave her the respect of doing it anyway.

She went nuclear and it lasted for an agonizing 2 hours. Culminated with her threatening to kill herself (she didn’t do it thank God). But I left knowing I did the right thing. I let her get everything off her chest. Gave her closure. Also her behavior sadly confirmed I made the right choice.

But I find that usually women use bad past experiences with men as an excuse to screw over innocent (ish) men they meet in the future. Like they are “evening the score” by getting back at an ex by screwing over an unrelated man.

Reason I say this my experience grown women in their 30s with emotional baggage actually get worse then older men who have similar bad experiences.

Inspired by this random GAG question I came across here. It's a bit sloppy with the poll choices though, so I simplified it a bit.

1. Would you date a really amazing biological girl who looked like a guy/transwoman, or a biological guy who looked like a girl/low-effort transman? They have a 10 out of 10 personality and are everything you want in personality, but they look like the opposite gender to the point of coming off transgender (they're biologically "cis," however).

2. Would you date a great, awesome girl or guy who was 100+ pounds (45+ kg) overweight? They're at least 350 pounds; bare minimum, and are comfortable with their weight and who they are, physically. They have an 8 out of 10 personality. They're 80% of everything you could ever ask for in personality, and the missing 20% are more minor details.

3. Would you date a decent girl who was six inches taller than you, or a guy who was six inches shorter than you? They're also the same weight as you, but they have a pretty face. They have a 6 out of 10 personality and are the majority of everything you want in personality, on top of being super-attracted to you and want to jump your bones in bed. They're not ideal, but they're heavily attracted to you.

4. Or option D; die a virgin, having never even been hugged by the opposite gender before (or same gender, if you're into that.) Your social skills will be terrible, to the point you'll come off autistic or like you've got Asperger's. And the only thing worse than that will be your personal hygiene. You'll remain thirsty until the day you die and never know love, sex, or companionship.

WHICH ONE WOULD YOU RATHER DATE, IF THESE WERE YOUR ONLY OPTIONS?

Ghosting in dating is an unfortunate common issue. Although flaky people have always existed the advent of digital technology has enabled people to indulge in their cowardice/insecurities even more so.

Anyway this started with women ghosting men in romantic scenarios, then more men started ghosting women, then women now ghost their friends and I wonder if guys will start ghosting their buddies more.

I have had it happen once but i know my former buddy was dealing with some very serious marital problems. I guess things got real ugly (he has a kid) and he doesn’t want me to see what he has become. I was friends with him and his wife for a very long time.

But as for guys it still does go against the bro code to do that. But who knows? But there is poll data that women ghost more

The journalist tries to justify this behavior as women are “raised to please men and do not want to hurt them with confrontation”.

However I completely disagree with that theory. If a women understands men she will know we care about being RESPECT. And ghosting is very insulting. 95%+ she ghosts out of selfish cowardice.

But now more guys are doing this crap. I just hired a web designer for a minor project recently and he had gone MIA on me despite being very dependable on earlier on several projects.

I would like to believe that maybe something came up in his life. But it’s been over two weeks now and I was depending on him. Something tells me he changed his mind about an agreed upon project and decided to bail.

10 years ago this would almost never happen.
