I grew up with a narcissistic father and later spent five years married to a narcissistic partner. After living through that, I can recognize those patterns instantly. I don’t use those skills to control people, and honestly, the idea of having that kind of influence makes me uneasy. In a way, spending so much of my life around narcissistic personalities taught me how to mirror some of their strategies when I absolutely need to — but only as a form of self‑protection, not as a way of living.

Gentleman's relish is going to be discontinued because of falling sales. Produced since 1820 the company says it's no longer commercially viable.

But I've never seen it in the shops. Perhaps it lurks in some dark corner of those delicatessens that charge £20 for mayonnaise.

It actually sounds quite nice, it's anchovy paste and there's a few recipes online to make your own so I might give it ago if I can get hold of some frozen fish to mash up.
