Are you desperately trying to stay single?

My mum called me out of the blue to check up on me and asked how work was going. I told her everything was fine and that there was nothing new to my life, she then tried to do the whole “slip in question” asking me when are you going to see someone and start dating and getting married and giving me grandchildren.

Look i know she means well i really do, but i’m not interested to commit to anyone yet.

Do you feel the same? Parents harassing you about it? Maybe your friends are in a different stage in their life and want to wish you the same joy that they are, but you are frankly ain’t interested at all yet?

Or are you the exact opposite and trying to desperately get into a relationship?

I have an older sister (15 years my senior) who only hits me up when she wants money…. literally! Or simply when she wants something from me. It hasn’t always been this way, but for the past year or so I’m always the one initiating contact and most of the time she never answers or returns my calls/texts. I get ignored, but as soon as one of her bills are due or she claims she’s in need she will quickly pick up the phone and won’t hesitate to ask (constantly by the way). She didn’t even call on my birthday to wish me a happy birthday and that was like the icing on the cake for me. In a situation like this I won’t lie it hurts because I thought my sister and I were close, but apparently not. She even went as far as to tell me she doesn’t care about my boyfriend. That comment hurt because usually I can confide in her about my relationship but I don't know what made her not care anymore. It’s been almost 2 months now and she just hit me up today to ask if I could un cancel my Netflix so she could watch. Not a “how are you?”, “how’s life?”, or nothing just can I have, can I have, can I have! I’m at my wits end and although it sucks and it’s hurtful, I’m ready to cut the line and say you know what I tried but this is toxic and it’s not worth it because I do feel like it’s a one sided relationship. My question is should I? Or what would you do in a situation like this?

The last time I “dated” someone I was 23, we were in a STR for about 3 months & it ended because to me it felt like settling. Since then, I’ve met up with men from dating apps on and off throughout the years. Maybe 1-3 were kind of sketchy, that was in my early twenties too but since then all the other ones were decent but I just didn’t feel them. And I think it was mutual, sometimes I’d hear back, sometimes I wouldn’t but it was known the feeling was reciprocated. I’m old let’s admit it, I’ve never been in love but intimacy scares me & I don’t really have much of a sex drive at all. Sometimes I have to ask myself if I like men because even though I know I do, I do not like any of these guys in the end. When we communicate on the app it seems fine but when I meet them in person I’m just so bleh towards them. They don’t catfish me, they just don’t live up to my expectations & I’ve learnt to not have any at this point in my life. I don’t like women sexually or romantically, I didn’t meet up with anyone in 2022 & today was the first time I met up with someone from
Hinge. Clearly was meh, should I just toss in the towel? Is it simply a case of just not meeting the ONE? Let me know if you have any follow up questions
