Co workers are nosy about dating life?

Some co workers who I barely know love to gossip and get into everyone's business. It's starting to make me uncomfortable. They've been asking me if I'm dating anybody. I explained that I'm still getting over a past relationship that was long term. You'd think they'd respect it and not pry. But they felt it was appropriate to ask if me and my ex still hook up. If we still hang and why. They asked why we aren't still together if I liked him so much. These questions are upsetting because I'm very broken hearted and vulnerable. I also don't feel comfortable sharing private information that should only be between my ex and I. How do I get them to back off without sounding mean?

No, actually, I wouldn't expect that. I would expect them to do exactly what they are doing, being a nosy f-bucket. Just tell them you don't dicuss XYZ topic at work. Then never respond when they attempt to pull you into a discussion on XYZ. There's no need to repeat yourself.

Be direct - subtle doesn't work with gossips. I find "fuck off" spoken loudly while looking them in the eye works wonders. Add "it's none of you nosy fucker's business" if necessary.

Obviously use your own choice of expletives, but take no shit and if they continue to demand information remember asking about your sex life constitutes sexual harassment in the workplace and you can comfort yourself by getting them fired.

They're doing that cause you haven't established any boundaries. Next time that ask don't be so nice and tell them none of your business. The tell them I don't talk about my personal so that's not up for discussion
