This cute girl started recently and she is quite nice. I didn’t think too much initially when she was presented (maybe that she is cute but that’s all). But the past couple of months I found that she has a really cool personality. Really nice, smart, sense of humour. She remembered some details for me even tho we are in different departments. We joke around. We had a very nice conversation about her hometown while travelling from work once and it seemed that she enjoyed our brief time then. However I never really though anything for my colleagues ever. For me they are just colleagues. I am kinda one of the cool colleagues with whom you can always talk to and get help and people usually expect me to do something in a convo. But here I am wondering after I kinda got nervous talking to her the other day.. heart pumping, weird. There is this one colleague who gives her a lot of attention and sits next to her. They joke around and stuff. Even gave her “jokingly” a “my-work-wife” bracelet. Yesterday I got a notification for her profile in Facebook. Was wondering if should just add her (I rarely add coworkers). I can talk shit in front of people for hours, but when it comes to the romantic side of things, I am kinda weak. So maybe just sit on my ass and pass? I have enough work and sh*t to ignore her but I find myself thinking…maybe she is just a good person and I shouldn’t mix things (today she even gave me free lasagna that she made for some cook-off they were doing at her department…talk about the way to a man’s hearth is his stomach.) So continue talking to her, add her on Fb and plan to ask her out?

So on Friday I was at a tattoo shop waiting for my artist to wave me in and as I was sitting two girls came and started chatting blah blah blah and One of them looked like someone I went to Highschool with. Her friend went with her artist and the girl that looked like someone I knew sat down one seat away from me.
I decided it wouldn’t hurt to ask so I turned over to her and said “hey is your name Natalie?”
She said “no”
And I said “oh sorry you look like someone I went to Highschool with” and I turned forward ending the conversation.
A few minutes later my artist came over with an iPad for me to fill out some info. I started filling out the information and her friend came back over and all I heard was “creepy” I turned over and they were looking at me.

In my opinion I didn’t think it was creepy at all. I literally asked If her name was Natalie and than apologized when I realized she wasn’t the same girl I went to Highschool and ended the conversation. But if I was please inform me.

So I’ve been texting with this new girl from work for about 2 weeks now. We text every day and the contribution to the conversation is equal (she will text first as much as me, and she will talk as much as I do).

I noticed last night a pattern that I’m concerned with. We will have very brief conversations during the day when I reply to a meme she sent or vice verca, but that’s it. Neither I nor her have ever texted anything like “how are you” to each other to start a conversation. Also with big gaps in time, like she will take an hour to respond, and then of COURSE I have to take an hour to respond too. This is mostly how it is during the day. Subpar.

However at night, really anytime past 7pm, we have a fluent text conversation that might persist for hours. This has been every night for 2 weeks. Suddenly her replies are instant and of course I reciprocate that so it keeps going. Or if she texts first she will just randomly send me something that happened to her or how she’s feeling about something, except only at night! Anyway as I said we both engage in conversation equally, there’s no disparity where one of us is pulling more weight. I’m simply concerned that it looks like she only cares about conversing properly during late hours when she’s bored.

What do you women think, is this a sign that #1 she texts me out of boredom, and #2 she isn’t interested in me?
