The internet and is the internet. If you haven’t grown a thick skin then you better get off and stay off.

Everybody has been trolled at some point. But every once in a while I have gotten in an engaged conversation with someone and they leave off being nasty. That’s a bit different than being trolled because you did build up a small amount of trust.

Of course you never know what’s going on in their lives. I find that the nastiest people usually have their own major problems and feel better when they project it on others. For example some of the nastiest insults I’ve ever taken (in real life) were from overweight girls. Some of them just want other people to hurt because it makes them feel better about their own misery.

Sometimes it makes me wonder if GAG is even worth it. It’s one of the very places I can ventilate about dating. But maybe a lot of us would be better off without it.
