I'm a 23F, about to be 24, still in college. Though I've been asked out before, not by the right guys, I'd never had a first date. I never had a boyfriend. I have a specific type/look in men that I'm attracted to. But the guys I would seem interested in are either not interested in me or they are not aware of my interest in them. I'm quite quirky in appearance, personality. But I'm very smart, curious, open minded and observant (If you're curious as to why I look like, you can go to this link If I'm pretty like people tell me, how come guys don't ask me out?

I'm also usually forward when speaking with others. After a guy who I fell for didn't return his feelings, I shut out and stopped approaching guys and showing interest, in fear of rejection and just encountering the obvious. It took me months to get over him.

A lot of people in my age bracket are already in relationships, engaged or married. And it seems like they're all pretty much the same in personality, style, common interests and friends. I feel like the odd one out without any experience or proposals. I was raised in the Midwest, but I currently live in the deep south. So that might explain a lot. This not only feels odd to me, but like it's too soon for everyone to be married this young. I want to be in a relationship, but I feel like I'm too weird or quirky for men to handle or to be attracted to. Like I just turn them off right from the start of the conversation or minutes into. So I just keep quiet and too myself, unless someone interesting enough catches my eye. I don't like to waste my time with people who aren't gonna make time for me, benefit me or who I see as fake and toxic. Pretty valid, is it not? I know what I want and what I'm looking for, but I'm open for something different to me.

Could anyone give me any ideas as to why? And if you are or have been through what I'm going through, please give your story. Thank you!

I'm hurting right now and very upset. My suspicious were confirmed just 2 days ago when my husband left his FB messenger open. It was messages between him and my SIL (sister-in-law). He admitted to her that he always loved his ex girlfriend Olivia from his much younger years. They met as 9 year-olds playmates, then dated for a short time in their Sophomore year of HS, she broke up the next year and met someone else.

The woman is married but still has him on his FB contact list as friends. He admitted to my SIL that he still loves her more than me. He loves me but I'm not really his first option. He would've wanted to have kids with her. He also said it was true what he once told me while drunk when we were just dating. Then this was the hurting part for me, the SIL asked if he would leave me if Olivia were to get divorced now and she reciprocated his feelings and he reply was a ''Yes, unfortunately I would leave (my name) but that'll never happen. I have to accept being in Olivia's forever friendzone''.

Flashback to the time we were just boyfriend and girlfriend:

We were drinking and while making love, he called me by her name. He literally said ''Oh Olivia, I love you... yeah''. Then tried to fix it right away when I got upset immediately. He called it a stupid drunken mistake and how we would never get drunk like that ever again and even reconfirmed me a bunch of times that he got over her already. I stupidly believed him.

Is this fair? We have a 7 year-old son and he's still obsessing over her? He never got over her and just got with me as second best.

I 23F have been with 32M since November 2022. His last relationship was with someone one year older than me which should have been first my red flag.

I have introduced boyfriend to a handful of friends. He becomes so drunk and high (unbeknownst to me) that he essentially becomes mute! If he does manage to muster out a few words his speech is very slurred. I had to carry him home to bed and would pop back out to continue the night on with my own friends on both occassions. boyfriend has never seen the issue with either night and doesn’t understand how it would embarrass me.

My friends were more than surprised when I revealed he was 32 and they were very quick to say he comes off as very young and immature. The last thing I want to do is introduce him to my immediate family out of fear he’ll embarrass me AGAIN!

His house is filthy and he’s spoilt! Mummy and daddy have paid his bills and insurances up until this August. When it came to paying his first electricity bill and car insurance renewal he was none the wiser and needed guided help. He has a degree in IT and software development.

He has been driving more than several years and inherited his car basically brand new. His dad always did the insurance and brought it to the garage for repairs and paid for them. Mummy has even offered to clean the house he also inherited several times but thankfully, boyfriend says no.

I asked him to help me clean his house one Sunday after I woke two hours early to get started and he give me the “you’re not my mum” and “stop annoying me” speech yet suggested another time I come out a day early to clean while he worked. The house is filthy, destroyed in mould, and smells of damp. Instead of buying new pillows for the bed, he wants to try and wash them first (despite being covered by mould and pillows being cheap).

Even when we text, he types like a child. He’s 32 but it’s still ‘bby’ not ‘baby’, ‘meh’ instead of ‘me’, and the conversation isn’t a whole pile of stimulating typically.
