The feminism debate obsession on this site is getting so tedious now. Can we all give it a rest? Nothing is ever achieved from it and people are too stubborn and rigid in their views that they completely ignore the other side.

      problem is, we can't.
Because feminism is on the rise, and as evident by actions, radical feminism is rising too. Proper feminism fighting for both sides SHOULD be encouraged (i'm not a feminist, more an equalist, but i'd gladly help somone fighting for both men and women), but we also need to act AGAINST radical feminism before it drives men and women even further apart.
It does not tak evil for evil for injustice to happen, only for good people to not care.

Do you want to be the one chosing not to care?

@dartmaul15 Will endlessly debating about it on GAG make any difference though? If you want change then be active in making it. If radical feminism is currently on the rise then there's not enough people debunking it.

Afraid i can't help in the states, but trust me, i'm going to us what little power i have to work against it.
How? By proving them wrong, and then showing people the true way to equality. Cooperation and mutual understanding.

the premises of this article are extremely flawed. a feminists is not a person who believes men and women are equal.

the true definition of a feminist is a person who believe that women are entitled to reign as superior over men

Obviously I favor gender equality to the extent possible, given the undeniable differences between the genders.

I do believe that radical feminism becomes very divisive, women will not get ahead by despising men, & ultimately harming men will not help women.

I agree with most of what was said here. It is refreshing to know that most every day feminists are not plotting the extermination of men! LOL.

I don't think most men are afraid of gender equality but of gender "sameness." They want fairness but for men to be men and women to be women. At least, that's how I feel.

I disagree with Itsallover. Feminism is an important issue, especially on a site FOR and ABOUT women. I do not find it tedious.

I respect your opinion, but unfortunately on this site I see nothing but negativity regarding feminism, especially from men. How is that progressive in any sense? Almost every day I see a post openly bashing feminism and what it stands for. It's tedious because no matter how many times it's discussed, the guys will still not listen.

Yeah, I just flamed some guy who was ranting about how feminism is going to topple the world order. They are almost always anonymous. I think that all of the radical feminist rhetoric causes a lot of fear and loathing and men lose site of the real issue: equal rights and privileges under the law.

I don't like feminism because of what feminism has done to men and the family unit and society in general and putting men in a bad light giving women the upper hand on just about everything making men look evil. But now when it comes to equal pay I don't care WHO is doing the work they pay is equal or it's cheating. Don't get me wrong I'm not agreeing with feminist on this topic I'm agreeing with me myself and I.

Sure women can do everything men can do... except dunk in basketball, hit a regulation size baseball, do regular push-ups, lift more weight, make money, invent things that are useful, fight in the military etc.

You are being ridiculous. Let me teach you. Equality here means equality in worth. The way you see it, if we were all equal, we would all be good in exactly the same things. No diversity... How boring. Women can't act equal because some of us do everything they can to block them. Also, "giving" equality sounds so condescending... You say it like you're giving a treat to a dog. I am ashamed for people like you.

@Azara wrong, no women has ever been able to dunk in basketball. Ever wonder why they don't dunk in the WNBA? It's not because it's against the rules, it's because no woman can. None, zero, zilch. The same goes for why women's softballs are big and green, because a woman's brain is incapable of hitting a regular baseball going at 90 mph. Also, the reason for doing push-ups from the knees was invented FOR women only. Men don't need it, we never needed to do knee push-ups in the army, which is why we can be drafted cause we're even better than women at killing stuff. And name one massive invention for humanity that was made by a woman. Men even invented all the stuff you women need: tampons, the high heel, the push-up bra, mascara and the bikini; all invented by men. We do everything and all you do is complain about it.

@JuicyBrain read what I said and research it. No woman has ever been able to do the things I mentioned. None. I can dunk at basketball and so can you because we're men and only men can do those things. No matter how good a woman gets and how strong her legs are she will never be able to do that. Women aren't capable of being as good as men at certain things. And we are giving women treats by giving them equality. They shouldn't be allowed to join the military because they can't do proper push-ups or run as long as a man can. We don't block women from doing things, they just can't do them at all. No matter how hard they try they'll never be able to do those things, EVER!

Equal rights have nothing to do with equality or being the same. Men are treated on a whole equally, but we don't have equality, we can't do the same push-ups, lift the same weight, we don't make the same money and only a small fraction of men do inventions.

This is not feminism, but amazonism.

Egalitarianism (from French égal, meaning "equal")—or, rarely, equalitarianism or equalism—is a trend of thought that favors equality for all people. The word feminism was chosen at a time where rights between men and women were far from equal. Women had a lot of ground to cover to reach equality, so yes it was all about women. The word feminism predates women fighting for supremacy. So why should the word feminism belong to them? Let them have their own word that I think suits them well : Feminazis. Is the choice of word the only thing that gets to you guys?

@JuicyBrain If they were exactly the same they wouldn't be split. They clearly have different agendas. One is to promote actual equality, the other is to "bring women up" (when statistically the genders are relatively close in most aspects) and ignore the inadequacies of men. As a woman, I'd never call myself a feminist. I want the genders to be 100% equal. I do not want an advantage, and I do not think that I am underprivileged for being a woman. In fact, I feel that, as a woman, I have more perks than I do disadvantages.

understanding that people have different needs and interests is not the same thing as saying one is better than the other. if you're just going to magically say everyone is the same how do you deal with the fact womEn have babies and are for a certain period of time compromised in a way men are not? egalitarianism doesn't take away the need for a woman movement and women movement doesn't get in the way of egalitarianism. anymore than fighting fascism would.

as for diff punishment. thats based on the idea that women are weaker not in control of their actions and inferior to men in the first place. just like custody laws favoring the mother. thats based on the idea that its the womans role to spend her life taking care of kids. and that otherwise women aren't really competent. they wouldn't just hand a kid over to the father bc its assumed hell be working.

Azara - Women should be Equal to Men and Vice Versa, For example feminists complain about female circumcision but then turns around and thinks male circumcision is all fine but that is called hypocrisy. Women and Men should have a fair chance in the court room when it comes to a child as long they both are stable. And people act like men can't be raped by women, there is more suicide that occurs in Men but guess what there is hardly any support groups for Men. Women should have reproductive rights such as abortion but Men shouldn't be forced to parent either like child support. Egalitarianism is true equality and that is something you can't change.

TalentedActress- Honey i can't help it hurt your feelings I could careless if you feel that i am discriminating and guess what Anyone with disablities i dont call them retarded. I say feminists lack intelligence these days they complain about not being able to go shirtless instead of actually going to countries that need feminism.

Thank you for putting this out there. The real problem is that a lot of men shamelessly deny their even being a problem, so that nothing gets done. I'm not saying it's the most pressing issue facing the world, but on this site, that's dedicated to the relationships of men and women, it's pretty damn relevant.

Extreme man hating feminazis have hijacked true feminism. Believers in true equality need to rename themselves egalitarians & distance themselves from what feminism has become.

Translation: Must jack off feminism, no matter how corrupt, sexist, racist, and vile it's become. Feminism is not equality. Not by a long shot, and it never will be again. Time to abandon the Titanic and find a movement without hate.

I blame the feminazi for tarnishing the image of the benign feminists

I so hate that word. It trivializes the actual suffering of people (Jews, Rroma, homosexual, mentally ill, etc.) during the Holocaust. Please stop using it in relation to extreme radical feminism. Because it's certainly nowhere near as atrocious as gassing innocent people.

@9mfeo I disagree because I'm pretty sure feminazis would send all men to the gas chamber if they could... like I'm actually being serious.

@Song4TheBroken doesn't make it any less offensive or anti-semetic. If all men were ever sent to the gas chambers like the nazis wanted to do with all the jews in the world, we'd survive about a generation or two.

@9mfeo How is it antisemitic? Do you even have a clue what antisemitism is? Calling someone a feminazi is actually using the word nazi as a slur. If it was antisemitic then I'd be using the word nazi as a term of endearment rather than a slur, wouldn't I? And no we wouldn't survive 'a generation or two' if all men in the world suddenly died. Do you know why? Because we have things called sperm banks where a ridiculous amount of sperm can be frozen indefinitely. There's also the fact that (with the current rate technology is progressing) human life expectancy will be extended indefinitely by the end of this generation. So yeah...

@Song4TheBroken that Feminazi is an offensive term because I am Jewish.
