Up until I transferred schools this year, I was a nobody for most of my life. I was one of those people who disappeared into the background of everyday life. I didn't have a lot of friends, and all my real friends were the weirdos. I had a few popular friends, but they only stuck around to copy my answers cause I was the smartest in my class. After I transferred schools, none of my popular friends stuck around.
This isn't a myTake about popular people being evil, or the outcasts being saints. I've just decided to voice my opinion that the geeks, nerds, weirdos, nobodies, and outcasts also make good friends.
When I transferred schools this year I decided to start fresh. I became a whole new me. I got a whole new look, a whole new level of confidence, and a whole new attitude. Surprisingly, the people in my new school like the new me. I've got dozens of friends, guys ask me out, I'm starting to get invited to parties, and people are literally dragging me to school events. I've seen both sides of the fence. I've been a nobody, and now I'm a somebody. That's why most of my current friends are also nobodies.
I highly recommend befriending one of the weirdos, nerds, losers, or whatever you want to call them. Some of the best people I know are the unpopular ones. I like hanging out with my weirdo friends. We can laugh about stupid cartoons like spongebob one minute, and then have a serious debate about social issues the next. We aren't afraid of doing embarrassing ourselves like trying to rollerskate in front of a gym full of students and falling on our asses. There's never a dull moment with them because we're not afraid of letting our inner child let lose. We don't hold back. We do the weird stuff other people wouldn't dare to do. We don't mind watching nerdy videos and cartoons. Me personally, I like watching videos on physics. One of my other friends like really weird anime shows.
I'm not saying that the outcasts make better friends, I'm just trying to say that there are some things that I could never do with my more popular friends. If I made a reference to the boondocks to one of my more popular friends they would stare at me confused. So don't pass up on the opportunity to make new friends just because they're weird.
