its too exteme. skinny models are extremely skinny and fat models are too fat. its too extreme, it goes from one extreme to the other side of the spectrum. no i reject skinny models and i reject the fat ones too. what the hell happened to normal women?
Shocking that this is coming from a man... a man who acts all high and mighty but then shames people HE is not attracted to.
Dude, have you looked in the mirror recently? You're really not one to talk.
I advise you take what you can get.
What a fallacious argument. He doesn't claim to be model material.
@evenlift who decides what 'model material' is?
Model scouts and agencies
@dominiquois And?
They can stick whoever they want on the cover.
But the women is clearly overweight. She is 92kg (201lbs) at 175cm (5'9"), how can anyone say that's healthy.
Actually, she is 5'9" and 165lbs.
I think you're the last sane girl on here. Read all the other comments. This fat acceptance BS is getting out of control.
This would be like putting a fat, hairy guy on the cover of a woman's magazine.
Thank you for going against the grain and just seeing/telling the truth. It's not about woman-hating or anything like that. It's about the facts.
Ehhh I'm far from being a body positivist.. You might even call me a chauvinist pig if I spoke openly about my thoughts and attitudes...
But a lot of those models man... I don't like to say it but they look sick. Someone needs to get them a sandwich or two. Stat.
Wow call me fucking Ishmael and grab the harpoons!

Just finished reading that book for the first time. Instant favorite.
I don't care if you consider her fat or even obese. Ashley is fucking hot and people who say she isn't are fucking blind and stupid.
some guys may find her hot, yes. And some guys will find a 600pounder attractive too. Whatever, their preference. I for one do not find Ashley "hot" because I personally find fit athletic girls to be that. And I am neither blind nor stupid.
I do find her face pretty hot though I will admit... but that's not the part of her I'm expecting will be wearing the cheeky scrunch bottom bikini.
This is a trend. It's a result of SI trying to please a wider audience. If it doesn't sell enough, it will gradually disappear and you won't be bothered anymore.
If enough people like it and SI continues to sell, more models like Ashley Graham are going to be in magazines for a while, and it won't be the end of the world.
Plus-size women are not my preference, but I don't want pop culture messing with young girl's minds by pushing a standard that only a tiny percentage can meet.
This is exactly why people need to bring more to the world than their appearance.
And it's sad watching people like you pretend that posting your body (regardless of the size) on a magazine cover offers any sort of importance lol
It's just a gimmick... Sports Illustrated isn't making a political statement. Magazines are dying because of the web. Both sides of this argument are making to big a deal about it...
Also, if you look at the guy's comments... People clearly have different tastes.
This is the reason why an average black man gets more women than a average white guy. We're open minded and proud of it. Women like that
She is good looking. She sells their stuff. They get credits and can sell their paper. Why would they care about being right?
Those who can not sell their stuff is forgotten and disappear. The one who can sell is the right one.
I think she's very sexy and not fat at all. Any bodyweight that is HEALTHY is fine, and THAT is where the line needs to be drawn (i. e. not just skinniness for the sake of being skinny). Too skinny is quite disgusting, actually.
Goddammit @JRICHARDS1996
I loved that take more than I planned. Mostly because it's 100% true, accurate, and very well written. Anyone who argues with you on this would have better luck pissing UP a rope.
Dog, just say you like iron board girls, but the trend today is guys like booty and bust. It's just cyclical, skinny girls will be back "in" at some point in your life don't worry bud
What could possibly be wrong with plus sized models? Why don't they deserve to be on the cover? Because the skinny hip bone showing women deserve it more? Personally I can't stand the VS models! Especially marisa miller. Since when is ribs and especially hip bones healthy?
Since we all have a skeleton.
@Hannah591 yeah we do, but no one should be walking around looking like they just have skin stretched over bones. But I guess someone like that would've been better suited for the cover.
@CHARismatic110 @Hannah591 I see Victoria's Secret models and I want to feed them. That's after they've been photoshopped to not be able to count their ribs. What the fuck do they look like in person? Scarecrows?
@9mfeo it just bugs me that being borderline underweight is so much more accepted when it's just as unhealthy. But I guess that's the norm.
@CHARismatic110 I agree with you. That's even more unhealthy than being overweight, truly. Slightly overweight people have better immune systems. And, I will reiterate that Ashley Graham is nowhere near fat nor obese nor overweight.
@9mfeo yeah I seriously don't get people's standards of fat anymore. I don't consider her fat and definitely not obese. And I follow her on Instagram. She works out regularly. But you know, her bones don't show so she isn't deserving of this magazine cover. She didn't work hard.
Ain't nothing wrong with her look, and if SI wants to try something new, then so be it.
I like thicker women so I don't have any issues there.
The thinner girl you chose for the photo just looks fake. It not as attractive when compared to the photos you chose of Ashley Graham. In a side-by-side comparison, Ashley looks like a real, healthy woman.
I suggest you seek therapy, or at least the advice of an optician. Ashley Graham is a beautiful woman, with an amazing body. I honestly don’t understand how you think that other woman has a better figure, let alone wrap my head around your twisted, insecure ideas of female attractiveness. How weak and stupid of a man do you have to be to act so ignorantly and with such unintelligence?
All of those girls there are hot. That's all I have to say. So what's the issue brah
