48 years ago today was the Assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr.
Why is this important to me. Well as says "myTake" I am going to give you my take. And I am not taking sides with the political landscape the way it is because I do not let a certain media source or media outlet dictacte my thoughts and proccesses about what is going on.
As Per Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assassination_of_Martin_Luther_King,_Jr.
Martin Luther King, Jr., was an American clergyman and civil rights leader who was fatally shot at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee, on Thursday, April 4, 1968, at the age of 39. King was rushed to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:05 p.m. that evening. He was a prominent leader of the Civil Rights Movement and Nobel Peace Prize laureate who was known for his use of nonviolence and civil disobedience.
Why is this important? Given today's again political landscape, its a far cry for what it was back then.
Present Day: Honoring the 1st BLACK PRESIDENT of the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

Past: 40 something years ago....
Pre-Civil Rights Movement
Pre EQUAL RIGHT AMENDMENT
PRE 14th Amendment to the US Constriction
PRE Voter Suppression by a particular party
Why is this important to me? Again my take.....
Prior to where we stand today, there was segregation in schools, classrooms, sit-in diners, busses. In some instances, this segregation still goes on today. From what? Fear. We feared then of what would happen if we integrated, and we still hold that fear for the past 8 years. How does this happen? By movements formed after the 1st general election of an African American PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.
We look at today’s society and certain states still suppress the voting of these individuals because, again, certain law makers in certain states believe these individuals should not have the right to vote or be given the chance to vote, because of certain media outlet who tells the constituents who listen to their broadcasts and the radio personalities who ignite the fear and hatred in the minds of individuals to act a certain way.
Now this "movement" was begun to form equality. This movement also gave certain individuals the means to get their point across, in unconventional ways, which results in incarceration and/or other means of punishment and imprisonment, and some blame society for how they are. We use the same paint brush to blame one person or a group of indivuduals for actions they did.
