Judging Others... Why Not?

Why can't people judge others?

Like in public, who says people don't judge?

It's normal.

Like if you saw this person, what would you think or say?

So political correctness and over-sensitivity aside, does it matter if a person is judged??? NO!!!

Why? It's about:

Confidence

If you know what you are, then fine. Dont'give a fuck.

Proximity

People don't know you, so it doesn't matter. This is how humanity works, people respect those more who are closer. If you saw your girlfriend or husband broken down, and then 100 yards up the street there was a stranger, whom would you help more?

It's mentally healthy not to care

People who are insecure care too much.

Anything can happen in life

If you're on the train, or bus, or your car, somebody can punch you. As anything can happen, you cannot stop everything or control anything. I'm a psychology student, and we're taught that being confident is important to mental health. So this is why it's good not to give a fuck.

To be honest, I judge strangers all the time in my mind, since it's funny, and I don't know them. Life is part dog eat dog, it's how it is lol

Obviously you can judge others, nobody can stop you from what you think and most of the time assumptions about people based on their appearance are correct. Obviously its a different thing and judging people on matters that they cannot control (race, gender, gay/strait) is a different matter entirely. Sometimes the case is though that judgement are based on others prejudice and not your own personal experience and this is when those judgement can be misleading.

There was an experiment done where monkeys were placed in an enclosure with a ladder in the middle and a banana on it. When a monkey tried to get to the banana all of the monkeys would be sprayed with pressured air, eventually they learn't not to climb the ladder. After they had all learnt they swapped out one of the monkeys and that monkey tried to climb the ladder and was attacked by the other monkeys. This process was repeated until all the monkeys were new and even though none of them had been sprayed none climbed the ladder even know they didn't know why they couldn't get to the banana. The actual experiment was set up a bit different if you want to look it up but it achieved the same results (five monkey experiment). This same thing can be seen in people as often people just take things at face value without going out and determining if what they learnt is true or not.

Also the "Its mentally healthy not to care" statement is complete rubbish. One of the most enjoyable things for me to do is help out other people in my spare time as the appreciation from other people just makes me feel good about myself and justifying whats good for mental health and confidence with simple sentences doesn't really get a point across well.

Caring what people think of you isn't really a bad thing. Of course getting to the point where you are insecure is but adjusting certain aspects of your life to make yourself more appealing to others often makes you feel better as well. Literally not caring at all about what others think is a characteristic of a psychopath.

I do give a crap but choose to do something that matters and makes a difference. Pic # 1, in your way of seeing the world you see a bum !! I see a guy and a dog with no place to live and more than likely both are hungry. You see a dark tunnel , I see the light at the end. Does that change the world? No not really but it changes me
