Sure they do, but so does everyone else... If someone stuck to their morals 100% and followed everything they said and believed in to the T - the world would be so much different... And weird.
"well I could not do xyz 100% perfect, therefore I will just give up on xyz altogether"
then not much would get done. contrarily, people tend to do things much, much better when they are willing to concede that sometimes, we can only do things 90% perfect, or maybe even 80% perfect. Hell, if we only get things 10% right then that's STILL better than not doing ANYTHING whatsoever.
OP's logic is, "if I accidentally ride over a snail on my bike, I guess I might as well pay for a cut of meat from an animal that got butchered and mutilated horrifically".
@the_rake Don't get me wrong, I am definitely not a vegan. Not even a vegetarian. I eat meat. I kind of got the sense you're going into a vegan rant with the last paragraph there... just letting you know I'm not the person who'll join you there.
I am not a vegan/vegetarian either so you can chill. What I am is pro-animal rights and I also do empathise with vegan arguments, it's just that realistically, we probably do need to kill some animals as well as smaller species (including livestock) to survive as a species. The problem is when meat eaters give out these really dumbass / lame excuses like
"but plants feel pain toooo!"
and
"but, but look at all those bugs you've squished"
It's when meat eaters say stuff like this that I can see where vegans are coming from.
most people only dislike and bash the self righteous "enlightened" better-than-you vegans and vegetarians that exist.
I like've said multiple times on this page I have nothing against V's and I almost became one not too far back, but there's a large part of that group of people that are like nails on a chalkboard. Those are the people who try to shove vegan-ism down your throat and scold you until you convert.
Some do, it's part of their lifestyle; some don't, they just follow a trend. True V's will be polite when you ask them about their way of living; fake V's will rant, make excuses, and sometimes try to avoid the topic.
Off course they do veganism is an ideology not a diet or the "right way to live" it's just another of the bunch of hundreds of ideologies and no idology is a 100% correct or immune to criticism.

Newsflash - Fish are vertebrates, they most certainly feel pain, but even crustaceans feel it, all multicellular animals have nervous system (unlike plants).
It's the complexity of the nervous system that determines if they feel pain or not though, most of these fish/crustaceans have too little nerves to feel pain.
i'm vegetarian, because i am free to put in my mouth what the heck i want. I never judged omnivores, but i was always bashed and judged by others. Who cares.

Newsflash: EVERYBODY picks and chooses their morality, the difference is that with high enough narcissism you can ignore other possibilities and just assume you are correct about every moral decision all the time so long as it feels right to you.
I do it for the cholesterol reduction. I don't care about animals.

Yes they do, because they're killing humans with their lifestyle choice opposed to killing animals. I'd rather kill 1000 cows than let 1 human kid go a day without food.

They can be all they want as long as they let me eat my meat and don't bother me with all their argument and bullshit

exactly. also if we had the principle in life
"well I could not do xyz 100% perfect, therefore I will just give up on xyz altogether"

appeal to futility.

I have heard a lot of vegetarian and vegan bashing on here. Why does it concern you... nobody is trying to force you not to eat meat.

Everybody does. Few people are truly consistent in their moral ideologies and the ones that are either become literal saints or tyrannical despots.

They do feel pain, at least the fish, all vertebrates...

I'm not so sure about crustaceans, but I wouldn't eat them anyway, they look like insects, yuck.

Vegetarian out of habit here. You make a point. I just don't feel like starting to eat meat now and I probably won't like it anyway.
Vegans are such hypocrites, and they can't see why. But then again, they don't know anything so that's understandable.
I do it for the cholesterol reduction. I don't care about animals.

Vegetarianism is a way to be misanthropic while being morally superior. Vegetarians love animals in the way white liberals love black people
Most people pick and choose their morals.
Yes and it's annoying
I still can't believe the part about fish not been able to feel pain.
What a pathetic take. Pointless.
Literally everyone chooses and picks morals
True but most don't demonize and bully people for morals different than theirs
And not all vegans do either. In fact, most that I've come across were pretty chill about it.
No, not all do, but a lot do.
