There is not a day that goes by where the infamous "1 in 4" stat is regurgitated by a mass of lemmings without any actual source except their ideological echo chamber.

Notice a trend here?!

Not only does this so called "statistic" instantly stand out as completely asinine... the slightest bit of research or calculation of what this would require, shows that it is absolutely ridiculous.

The problem is that the source is almost always non-existent or is underhandedly fabricated.

Because these magic numbers don't have much legitimacy, it will often be changed from 1 in 4 to 1 in 5 or 1 in 3 depending on the need of the campaign runners to draw sympathy or shock so people will donate more money to their cause.

The most common regurgitation of this number (and the most harmful) is the false female victim-hood cliche.

"1 in 3,4,5 women will be raped" or "1 in 3,4,5 women will be violently abused" ...SO please donate so we can stop this madness... oh and PS... all men are monsters and rapist."

This propaganda uses peoples sympathy towards helpless females, and it's natural need to protect them, as a way of gaining strength. It is the same reason help for actual men's issues gets generally ignored. "Men can take care of themselves".

We are told women are "Strong and independent" but are in constant need of protection and assistance. Which is a massive contradiction.

Here is some history on where this fabricated number came from:

Back in 1985 Feminist Mary Koss did a "study" for an article in Ms. Magazine.

Initial she could not gather the numbers she was hoping for, so her new study phrased questions loosely. Then she took the answers and defined her sexual assault numbers based on these questions.

Questions asked if women ever had sex or sex play because they "felt obligated" or "felt pressured to", even regret was a factor.

With her expanded and vague definition of rape, the 1 in 4 number was born and has been the horrible monster statistic ever since. No one dare question it because criticizing a feminist would unleash a backlash which no one wants to face.

The CDC which Mary Koss has personal ties to also released a "New Study" which seemed to support this number but suggested the 1 in 5 number... but this study also used vague questioning, had a small sample group in a single area and generally followed the same underhanded study practices as Koss.

The government uses these numbers and fund campaigns based and because the government supports these fabrications (for financial and political gain), it allows this nonsense to gain ground without realistic support.

These campaigns need to be stopped, they push a false fear about men. It creates unjustified bias and hate against men. It allows for sexist ad campaigns supporting female abuse of men and so on.

Millions of tax dollars get used every year to push this false narrative and they do it because the "women are victims" industry makes them billions. The money they raise every year under this false fear scapegoat far exceeds the money they put into it. Male hate and female false victim hood has become an industry.

But these feminists who run DV shelters cover it up and encourage them to see themselves as the victims of men, as if they aren't responsible at all for their own actions. @AdamThomas actually most studies show women are more likely to be the abuser then men are both against their partners and children, I mean as you pointed out 70% of non reciprocal violence is perpetrated by women while reciprocal is 50/50 which already means women are more likely to be violent but when you factor in that women are actually more likely to be verbally and emotionally abusive and (from what I have heard though I couldn't find the study myself so take it with a grain of salt) while violence in a relationship was an indicator of past and future violence for women it wasn't an indicator of violence past or future for men suggesting that since the violence followed her she was responsible for it in some way or another (most likely through verbal abuse). But the rest of your statement is accurate, in fact one British woman who ran a shelter actually realized that the woman where at least as violent as the men supposedly where when she spoke out she had her life threatened.

In 2008, there was 1 rape on the entire campus of Ferris State. The student population was about 14,000. On-campus residents made up about 9,000 of that total student body. There was a slightly-higher-than 2:1 ratio of male to female students (7 guys for every 3 girls.) So that means there were 3,000 or so female on-campus residents.

For the stats to be true by SJW standards, there would have had to be 600 rapes/assaults/serious harassment or stalking cases happening in one year, every single one of them proving to be serious enough to warrant police attention.

However: assuming only 10% of "victims" came forward, that would still require 60 complaints, and all of them to be genuine. In an entire year, the campus gets maybe half that many reports. And most of them turn out to be petty nonsense undeserving of DPS's time and energy.

ALL men on campus were made to suffer with excessive new security protocols because TWO men - who weren't even students - stalked a gal in 2008, chased her to her room, forced her into her own room, then gang raped her.

With these SJW types, however, the issue is never the real issue. Their measures ultimately have nothing to do with protecting vulnerable women. They have everything to do with seizing power and silencing dissent.

When it comes to sexual assault/rape of women on college campuses, do you really believe parents would send their daughters to college if they actually believed those numbers? I think not. Good take and I am with you that the numbers are very biased with the lose questions. To improve in future in disproving others you should also try to be unbiased too. For example in the campus picture:
12600 girls: the study talks about live time if I scanned it correctly (sorry, was too long to read it fully)
let's assume 50 years because females below 10 and above 60 are insignificant likely to get forced sex (at least in my opinion, I am open for other opinions) and assume 5 years of them while studying
12600*1/4*5/50*10%=31.5
then we need to the obligued but not rape cases
then we need to reduce them to only count the time on campus (I think a rape while a lecture is unlikely because there would be too many witnesses and are more likley when being alone or when partying, so it is more likely on the non-campus time). So cases outside the campus will not get reported to the campus.
Since I don't have any number for the last ones let's assume 10% for each (campus and ratio of obligued vs rape) (should be lower in my feeling)
makes 0.3 reported cases per year on this campus
just to improve your career in statistics and to not make the same errors like them.

I was referring to campus numbers which I have checked with approx 20 campus student populations and 12600 is the approximate average per year... if "1 in 4 get raped each year" it would be a fourth of that number... there would need to be 3150 rapes on campus a year (Which doesn't mean during class time... it means while they are at the school even if it happens on a Saturday night)... which is still not the case when you look at campus security crime statistics nor does it add up when you check the crime statistics.
Looking at the bureau of Justice statistics (which is the gold star in crime statistics)... it states that rape occurs in less than 1 in 1000 and has been for over a decade or more.

standard is at least 100,000 people, that is considered to be the bare minimum of a good sample size. So yes over 14,000 people in 50 different states is a tiny sample size considering that their are over 300 million people in the US. As for voice for men being uncredible, why? Is it because you don't like what they say? You don't need to go to a mens rights movement website to find this information you literally just have to look at the paper that is published (fairly easy to do if time consuming) and the paper itself will list methodology and sample size and the questions asked. The problem is nobody wants to put forth that effort to verify the data.

We've reached a point where anybody who says they're "down" are automatically clinically depressed and it's a disorder. For instance, while everyone on earth gets depressed occasionally, MDD (Major Depressive Disorder) is exceedingly rare.

That being said, I'd say it's certainly true that at least 1 in 4 (probably more like half) of people today have social issues they never had before, mainly because they refuse to be social and would rather sit in front of a screen.

Neuroscience knows some of the basics, usually for averages of multiple people. Using that knowledge to diagnose individuals with some semblance of accuracy (and you actually want >99% accuracy or else you end up with millions of false positives) is impossible for the time being, it's also too expensive so not used by psychiatrists and it all comes down to subjectively drawn (and tainted by profit motives) lines in the end anyway.

Being overweight is pretty easy to classify as a problem. But even for physical health you run into problems when average height keeps increasing (so average weight increases, even for healthy people), incisors get smaller, wisdom teeth are disappearing, bone density and musculature (without bodybuilding) have markedly decreased since the stone age, etc... We have to be incredibly careful about what we label as a disorder and we do have to take changing averages into account.

You people don't seem to know how brains work: that "just a weirdo" guy also has a different brain (it just hasn't been classified as an official diagnosis, plus different brain configurations can lead to the same behavior), or else he wouldn't be acting different. If 4 come forward, then 40 "actually" happened. But then you have to minus the false accusations, the nonsense blurred rape definition claims (having alcohol but making rational decisions, regret, feeling obligated, etc") that actual 4 is likely only 1 so 90% of that would be 10.
The bureau of justice statistics show it's less than 1 in 1000 including this "90%" but not subtracting the nonsense accusations which are taken as truth.

About your 3 out of 7 friends... as much as it is horrible if this truly happened, unless you know the specifics of how, it's hard to ascertain how valid these claims are.

I feel like people make false rape accusations out to be a common thing. And I mean, they do happen, don't get me wrong, but not nearly as often as people think. I think it's a lot like abuse in the church. The vast majority of preachers/priests/etc aren't molesters, but you only ever hear about the ones that are. And so many victims who are telling the truth aren't taken seriously and people reach the conclusion that they made it up. But rape isn't something people are likely to lie about.
