The US needs an Immigrant Day

Even Lady Liberty is an immigrant. Immigrants make the US great. Let's face it an overwhelming number of doctors and engineers are immigrants.

They are but their kids won't be, that's how we all got here. I don't care if your family came over on the Mayflower, your an immigrant. So let's show some love.

I'm thankful for how I got here and honestly I didn't have to fight for it nearly as hard as many modern day immigrant lacking a PhD or MD (not to say they didn't overcome barriers as well).

It all started becoming morally problematic when -after killing a great number of them-, the govt. started putting Native Americans in camps (reservations)

Man I took my normal little walk around my sanctuary city today. I'm not putting it in quotes because it is a sanctuary city. We've legally taken in more legal asylum seekers than most US cities as we have nonprofits seeking placement and they are thriving here as is our city.

We needed it. Not that we aren't a great city but we are a city growing so fast from US migrants we didn't have enough world migrants. These people are great. Nothing new to me as I've lived in many places but it is new for them and I love to watch this country be new to these highly educated people and even the less educated ones. They are glad to be here but they are no ones lap dog.

I watched an Eritrean woman go off on a butcher who had been ignoring her for other customers for 15 minutes. I thought, "she's gonna make it".
