There's what it SHOULD be and what it IS. Don't confuse the two. Modern feminism (1990s-Now) is toxic.
But.. MGTOWs and herbivores can thank it because it gives men complete license to reject society's expected roles of them. Feminism is also a direct cause of the Peter Pan effects and the "where are all the good men?" issues.
Bullshit, feminism is nothing more than a fucking joke. If it was about true equality, when are you feminists going to supports men's rights? Yeah, thought so. I am not a feminists but it doesn't mean a girl can't do what she wants. If women can do what they want then I CAN DO WHAT I WANT!
But men and women are not the same. So your argument doesn't hold water. Most of the population rejects rabid third wave feminism. It isn't about equality, it's about being superior. And we're not buying it.
I support equality too. I feel I'm the only one who does. It's why i support sex work. It gives men the equal opportunity to have a sex life on par with a woman. I thank feminism for legalising sex work and I hope it continues to grow.
What a load of shot. Its about not being able to compete and changing the rules to accept lower standards and weaker leaders. Call it what you want but most men are fooled
it really doesn't matter what you think feminism is about. many feminist organizations such as NOW (national organization for women) wipe their asses with what you think feminism is about.
they are essentially one in the same. except that feminism is specifically about equal rights for women and egalitarianism is recognizes the disparity on both sides and seeks equality
i don't know if it's fair to say feminism doesn't care about men, as much as when feminism was first brought up men's rights were truly truly far and away superior in as much women essentially had little to know rights...
@madhatters4 There is actually a pretty big difference. Egalitarianism is merely a train of thought/doctrine/belief that people are equal and deserve equal rights and opportunities.
Feminism is a movement. An ideology. An all encompassing thing that embodies the thoughts and actions from the quietest moderate feminist to the very loud radical feminist.
Movements work when they are lazer focused on something that won't get changed without them, but what happens to a movement when it has nothing to really fight for anymore? It comes up with a reason to continue existing. It fabricates issues, fudges numbers and points fingers all to extend it's life.
It's also easy to hide behind the dictionary definition of feminism, tricking people into supporting it because it makes it sound good, but then the actions taken within the movement paint a very different picture about what their goals are.
@HorrorFan Egalitarianism is merely a train of thought/doctrine/belief Feminism is a movement. An ideology
you are saying they are the same thing. they are the same thing. because people put an ideology into action doesn't change what the ideology is. people who misreprsent themselves as feminist when they in fact aren't are simply identifying with a word they don't understand
that's like me saying i'm in the KKK but i love black people and think all races are equal and should live in harmony. it doesn't mean that the ideology of the KKK has changed it just means that i am incorrectly identifying myself
@madhatters4 No. I'm not going to further explain the difference between egalitarianism and feminism. You have google for that. I'll address the rest, though.
Go look up the dictionary definition of something like communism. Now go ask any American their viewpoint on what a communist is.
Or a classical liberal comparative to the liberals of today.
Hell, the democrats and republicans completely switched ideologies which still to this day confuses most conservatives. Ironic to your little example, they argue that the KKK is a democrat thing, while technically correct, they tend to ignore that little ideology switch. Even thought it's not that hard to figure out that no current KKK member would have ever voted for Obama.
Ideologies often change over time. A feminist that merely believes in equality is just as much a feminist as a woman that wishes all men were dead and smears period blood all over her face.
This is why most rational people don't identify as feminist.
@madhatters4 I would agree with your silly KKK example. That's largely in part to the fact that the KKK hasn't actually changed much. It mostly just shriveled into near non relevance. They were also never really trying to accomplish anything in particular, either. They were just a hate group.
Feminism HAS changed. A feminist that fought valiantly for equal pay and issues regarding abortion and whatnot in the 60's can easily look at what feminists are fighting for today and what methods they employ and shake their heads.
Go look up Christina Hoff Sommers. A second wave feminist author that is highly critical of third wave feminism and what is has become.
@HorrorFan feminism hasn't changed. there were always radical feminist even from the very beginning, who in fact aren't feminist. and yes there are radical feminist now. but the vast majority of feminist still identify with the ideology of feminism as being about equality
I think feminisim as a movement is dead look at what it has become with the likes of gravedigger "fake-feminists " like Ivona Trump. best shot would be to fight for changes in legislation if there are any in the developed world.
Just call yourself an egalitarian and start talking about male issues as well as female issues and then you'll suddenly see a lot more men and women backing it all.

Feminism is bullshit. You are very ignorant if you really believe what you just wrote lol
But men and women are not the same. So your argument doesn't hold water.
Most of the population rejects rabid third wave feminism. It isn't about equality, it's about being superior. And we're not buying it.
That's true, it's about equality, but stereotypes about femininity and masculinity are just an unnecessary generalization.
I'm in favor of any feminism that is about equality.
As long as no one is feeling superior, it's simply about fairness :D
I support equality too. I feel I'm the only one who does. It's why i support sex work. It gives men the equal opportunity to have a sex life on par with a woman. I thank feminism for legalising sex work and I hope it continues to grow.
Equal in opportunities, but somehow different in way of being.
the more u say its abour equality the more i know it not about that
men and women are not the same
deal with it

it really doesn't matter what you think feminism is about. many feminist organizations such as NOW (national organization for women) wipe their asses with what you think feminism is about.
I think it'd be simpler if it wasn't. Like if it was just about women's rights and changing laws, then I think less people would argue about it.
I still think Egalitarianism (true equal rights) is a better alternative to feminism.
they are essentially one in the same. except that feminism is specifically about equal rights for women and egalitarianism is recognizes the disparity on both sides and seeks equality
@madhatters4 That's why I prefer Egalitarianism, Because feminism doesn't care about men.
i don't know if it's fair to say feminism doesn't care about men, as much as when feminism was first brought up men's rights were truly truly far and away superior in as much women essentially had little to know rights...
but i agree egalitarianism is more inclusive

if it's about 'equality' for one specific group of people (in this case, females) then it's not exactly about equality.
Feminism and Traditionalism are two sides of the same Gynocentric coin, both based on male disposability.
I've always thought that "we can do it" poster is cringe worthy. Why are feminists proud to flaunt that thing?
I think feminisim as a movement is dead look at what it has become with the likes of gravedigger "fake-feminists " like Ivona Trump.

Then where's the equal treatment in courts for BOTH men and women? Why do girls get better opportunities in education? Where's our fight?
Just call yourself an egalitarian and start talking about male issues as well as female issues and then you'll suddenly see a lot more men and women backing it all.
In what ways do you feel women are unequal, besides biological and physical reasons?
