How was the election giving away the freedom of speech? Also the government in America has been less involved but in other countries like the UK and Europe in general the governments have been putting pressure on Facebook and Twitter to limit speech going after "fake news"(which coincidentally is just news that happens to be the opposite ideology of the current group in power). Obama actually made it legal for the CIA to actually use propaganda against the American people (It was originally made illegal in the fifties/sixties but he revoked it before he left office) which is also a form of censorship in that it allows the government to lie to the American people in order to get a desired result.
@hellionthesagereborn Well, let me see. Uhm... am attorney general (Sessions) who openly expresses his contempt for the open exchange of ideas. A president who bans reporters who challenge him on issues & Claims the public is perpetually misinformed when in fact the sources of information available (accurate and not) are expanding on a daily basis, mostly through electronic media.
Since the end of the second world war the United States (NSA & CIA) has put billions into the control and management of information available to the public. John Kennedy was the only chief executive to challenge disinformation campaigns by gov't and he was assasinated.
That never happened. He has openly called out the media for its unfair and biased reporting all of which is quite provable. In fact several times they had to apologise for making things up or editing footage to make things look/sound different then they where. Trump never banned any reporters, one reporter continued to interrupt him and he repeatedly told him to stop and then finally kicked him out of the conference, but then after he was done talking to the other reporter he was allowed back in. Thats not banning thats just expecting the media and journalist to act appropriatley. He called them out as fake news especially CNN because they where creating fake news. The owners of CNN donated hundreds of thousands of dollars to hillary clinton, they back peddled on comments and the president of CNN even admited that trump won because they hadn't edited his rallies enough. Thats pretty blatent censorship and misinformation.
"In February 1976, Director George H. W. Bush announced an even more restrictive policy: "effective immediately, CIA will not enter into any paid or contractual relationship with any full-time or part-time news correspondent accredited by any U. S. news service, newspaper, periodical, radio or television network or station." So actually it was George Bush who really cracked down on it not Kennedy. In fact the extent of the manipulation didn't even occur until mid 70s long after kennedy was assasinated and in fact most of the media outlets where reportedly liberal ones. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Mockingbird

u don't have free speech
Most forums and such already censor curse words.
Censorship has been and always will be with us.
Doesn't mean you don't fight it tooth and nail.
@hellionthesagereborn I agree entirely. but it's not so much that gov't is taking it away, it's the people giving it away. i. e. the 2016 election
