I share your concerns. I worry about where we are heading. We are a nation of divergent ideologies with a widening chasm right down the middle. We have gone from one extreme of the political spectrum to the other. It seems we swing wider with each iteration and I fear what the next one will bring.

What we really need is moderation, and I think most people are more moderate than what the last several election cycles have shown. But we seem to inevitably end up with an extreme candidate in the White House, which leads to more bitter resentment and even hatred among the electorate. I don't know what it's going to take.

Texas wants to go so push them out. California can also operate on its own grid so maybe it is better off on its own too.

They only problem is those two State don't need the US but the US does need them.

I vote for middle America and the low income population when time and time again they vote against themselves.

I'm fortunate to afford healthcare but pay over 30% income tax before real estate tax and everything else. More than 50% of my household income goes to taxes because I'm not purely an investment banker or purely a business owner. Because ima W2 I pay over 30% tax on paycheck
