I also find it a repellent practice.. I don't get it at all.
I guess it's a dominance thing, a kind of "i'm a man so what the fuck are you going to do about it?" kind of thing.. like a softcore rape substitute I guess. i dunno.

I have never met a man with manners who catcalls. It truly makes a bad impression and that's why I think women dislike it. I don't feel scared or unsafe when someone catcalls me. I feel just disgusted about the vulgarity of the person who catcalls.
