Dr. Strangelove: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb
on of Kubrick's most well received works and dark comedy that rings hauntingly true as Trump requests more nuclear stockpiles.
In 1969 the US had 32,000 nuclear weapons but had since the early 80's been in international agreement to scale down with other nations concurrently. Estimates today are around 4,000 nuclear weapons which is universally agreed the fewer the better and we should continue this trend.
In July Trump called a meeting with the Joint Chief of Staffs suggesting we ramp it back up to the arms we had at the peak in the late 60's.
Various officials talked him down noting the legal and practical restrictions and the fact that the weapons in our current strategic arsenal are better able to carry out their missions than the much larger force of a half-century ago.
Pentagon officials left the meeting reasonable rattled by the President's lack of understanding on nuclear protocol 6 months into the job.
This is our guy touring Asia and engaging North Korea, giving them a platform that simply isn't deserved and wouldn't be even considered by past leaders. Only then to be made to look, yet again, small powerless and foolish.
This is our guy, itchy trigger finger and wanting to stockpile more.
He simply has no comprehension of what letting one loose would do in terms of devestation or consequences.
He wants to muscle. He wanted tanks down the streets at his inauguration. He takes advice from no one in a position that is impossible to do on your own without allies and advisors.
When you have a cowboy CEO like Rex say he's a moron for wanting to build nuclear stockpiles that's saying something. It just isn't even fathomed in today's or 40 years ago as part of any game. Less bombs is the universal accord.
This is only one highlight of how SNAFU this presidency is but really presses the envelope of getting to see FUBAR where the govt as we know it ceases to be.

No One Can Stop Trump From Waging Nuclear War With North Korea, not even his generals: www.newsweek.com/trump-war-north-korea-generals-nuclear-kim-jong-un-war-north-korea-china-672662

We all know Trump is divorced from reality. At least now someone in his administration is saying aloud
This seems a little alarmist.
Alarmist? Did anyone stop Carter from starting a war in Afghanistan? JFK in Vietnam? Bush in Iraq? Obama in Libya and Syria?
DT too wants his war.
All the countries you listed don't have nuclear weapons.
It's way more dangerous to start a war with a country which has nuclear capacity.
It's also incredibly unlikely.
During the Cuba crisis, JFK said he was ready to do it.
Talk is cheap, that was a public statement, and ultimately both sides came to the negotiating table.
I know much about the crisis then: it's (hidden) orgin, it's cause and its (secret) aftermat
@jacquesvol don't engage with this person. There's no reasoning with people who have no common sense or any kind of knowledge on foreign affairs.
At least this kid seems to somewhat understand game theory the US president certainly doesn't. It's sad that most of his followers are smarter than him but will blindly be led to the slaughter out of loyalty.
"Don't engage with people who disagree with me."
It is clear that you are a sane and rational individual.
