All of this is false information. I will keep smoking herb whether it is legal or not. I am fine with it being illegal because it is cheaper on the black market anyways. They tax it too much

You're spewing horse shit. I myself don't take marijuana, but many people have benefited from it medically, regardless of what all these pseudo doctors say. The FDA are a criminal organization that are hell bent on destroying natural treatments that cure disease, and look at how many people have died or been made sick from pharmaceutical drugs.

None of those are reasons for it to be illegal even if they were true which they aren't and there are loads of reasons for it to be legal. Do some freaking reasearch and use your brain before writing rubbish. I've yet to hear a single logical argument against full legalization

Seriously? They just stated the reasons, just up there /\

Yes there are a lot of things people take that have a range of bad side effects that vary from person to person. However Marijuana seems to have a much more addictive, long lasting & harmful effect.

@yoshi_wanna_ask Well, it's actually the first choice after alcohol and tobacco where I live. And I'd say alcohol is more addictive as there are more people who just can't stop doing it, but they could stop doing MJ no problem.

Different people are resilient towards different things. It's great that you know some people who are resilient to MJ but even though alcohol *addiction* can have a much great affect than MJ *use* it's no secret that MJ can much more easily destroy & consume the lives & communities of those it affects. There are communities who have had problems with alcohol that have gone on functioning for 100's even 1000's of years but MJ (& other drug) affected ones that are on the brink of ruin. So if we know that it's harmful, even if it's not as harmful as something else, is it really worth legalising it just because it won't kill you as quickly?

@yoshi_wanna_ask Don't you think someone who wants to self-destruct will find a way, no matter what? Is it a possibility that those societies were just on the brink of ruin due to the illegality of those substances which led to powerful druglords and gangs and related shootings and murders to establish themselves instead of the substance abuse itself?

The violence, rape & hospitalised I'm referring to are only when people are under the influence not gang ones. There's more than one type & the community ruin can also be because they've become so baked they can't learn, focus or process the amount they need to anymore. Which leads to stealing & less employment & all the issues that brings. I'm sure like you're saying whenever any drug is involved it's not the issue on it's own. But you can't see it *fully* for what it is until you do separate it's pros and cons from the other issues. Only then can you see the overlap & the damage it *can* cause.

I had a think about this though & that everyone has some thing (s) they feed in their lives even though they know its not great & I'm guessing, at one point, maybe that's what it was for you. Which means, even if I do hit on some good points that might be true chances are it sounds more like a personal dig than info. So I won't argue with you anymore about it. Other things r more important.

I only said that because of what I thought you said you experienced while you were at school, but I was debating with you and another person who answered this question & got some of your details mixed up. She mentioned having used for a bit while in high school. So, sorry about that. Of course not everyone who defends uses and your example is a completely unrelated issue. Anyway, take it easy.

legalising it isn't going to do anything. Kids will drink, smoke and take pills at school regardless of their legal standing.

@lilaqua Only if they have access to it. Which is a lot easier if it's made legal. It kind of seems your reasoning is like "people are going to get hit by cars anyway so why should we have speed limits?" We don't have strict rules because people won't do bad things but because they're going to try and find any way they can around them no matter what they are. A lot of people don't care about any benefits or consequences but just that it feels good. 'Just coz' should never be a good enough reason for anything.

@yoshi_wanna_ask yes, but the rules will be similar to alcohol, over 18 (or 21 in the states) which makes the accessibility equal or more likely lesser to alcohol. To kids under that age, the same rules still apply. Hell, I was 18 at school, an adult, I could legally by alcohol in my country yet if I was ever caught with alcohol or acting intoxicated I would be expelled on the spot. Just because it is legal doesn't mean there is the not a penalty for using at school that will ultimately deter those that value their education.

@lilaqua But if you're using in the first place there's a very good chance you don't care about your education that much. You don't have to using drugs to feel like that about it anyway. Age limiting it isn't going to stop kids from using it. In much the same way kids younger than 18 regularly drink the same thing would happen with drugs. The only difference is if it's legalised you'd have another set of problems on your hands because kids would suffer a *worse* version of everything bad that marijuana brings because their bodies haven't finished developing yet. I support it being used in medical research because there's always the possibility they'll find a way to use it to help without the harmful side effects but the long term effects, even for a light user, way outweigh any 'benefit' they might feel they get. It feels good and it's not good for us. Which in itself, it exactly the reason people will press to keep using it.

@yoshi_wanna_ask look in my mind if they don't care about school that's on them, or they are likely suffering some form of mental health issue. Plus i'd rather have kids taking weed then alcohol, because you won't get any rape, deaths or major hospitalisations.

@lilaqua Marijuana doesn't lower any of those statistics. Yes it's not known for throwing people into a rage like other things can but people have done all *kinds* of things while high as kite, most they regret. Also thousands of people are hospitalised every year all across the globe because of drugs. Not to mention that it takes money away from things the kids should be spending it on, kids who run it & suppliers who sell it away from their families *AND* the community they (could) contribute to when they're inevitably caught and THEN there's the long term side effects that can all kinds of effects on people because it affects them differently. I'm not saying there's any blanket solution but you can't just back down from it all together because it won't kill you as fast as something else does. If it's gonna do harm someone, anyone, it shouldn't be sold, period. Since we know that it *can* be so harmful and it's already illegal it's a bit useless to make it legal & tell people it's ok

@yoshi_wanna_ask Hospitalised, yes but for mariijuana? not really, unless a car is involved. Then shouldn't it become legalised so it contributes to the economy? Have you actually ever smoked by the way? And do you support alcohol distribution? if so isn't that widely hypocritical?

@lilaqua I don't support alcohol distribution, if people drink it they drink it, and I'm talking about what they *would* be contributing to society if they weren't in jail, from having been charged over the marijuana. Probably wasn't clear enough. With the hospitalization I'm talking about drug affected incidences. Poisonings, OD's, effects on the body, cancers, heart attacks & all kinds of things people have experienced from using it. I'm not defending one thing in favour of another I'm saying if you take this issue, the one we're talking about & really break it down, get to the core of the pro's & con's, it really becomes an issue of "I want this because it feels good" not because over the con's it has long term benefits.

@yoshi_wanna_ask look, we've just got two different opinions on how to have fun, but I think marijuana is not the big bad that so many people see it as, and it's horrendous to group it in with more dangerous drugs.

@lilaqua I think you're right but even if it's a 7/10 as far as being dangerous (compared to other drugs) there are still a lot of terrible recorded side effects. I think there are positive things that it could be used for but there's no way it should ever legally be available for people to use in the same form it is now.
