Gender Roles Are Not Always Bad and Can Be Beneficial

With the rise of lies, confusion, and media brainwashing I decided to write this MyTake to give my opinion on gender roles and why I think they should not be dismissed.

Gender Roles Are Not Always Bad and Can Be Beneficial

I like to approach things using common sense. When it comes to gender roles, there are extreme people on both sides. There are people who say that men and women have to be a certain way i.e. "women should never do a man's job, pink should always be a girls favorite color, fathers should never be a stay at home parent etc." And then there are people on the other side of the extreme who say things like, "There's no difference between men and women and they both have exactly the same skills, strengths, and weaknesses." Both are wrong.

If we take our minds away from all the stupidity and brainwashing that comes from the media and the education system and just use common sense, I think most of us know deep down that men and women have different needs, strengths and weaknesses that make them better or worse for certain roles in society. Of course there's always going to be exceptions, but I'm talking about in general. For example, if a couple are walking down the street and they get attacked by a mad man, most people would agree that it would be better that the boyfriend steps in to protect his girlfriend rather than the girlfriend having to protect her boyfriend. Now there might be a rare exception to this. If the girlfriend is a bodybuilder and a professional kickboxer and her boyfriend is a weakling, then maybe in this case it would be better for the girlfriend to be the one to step in and defend her boyfriend. But this is the exception to the rule. In most cases the boyfriend would be the best candidate to fight off the mad man, simply because most men are physically stronger than women. This isn't being sexist, it's just a biological fact and is common sense.

Another example: Suppose a married couple, with children, were long term unemployed. But one day a job becomes available, a job working on a scaffold. Who would be better suited for the job, the man or the woman? How many women would prefer to work on a scaffold while their husband stayed at home raising the children? Common sense seems to indicate that most women would prefer to stay at home, simply because most women don't want to do construction work. But please pay attention, I'm not saying that women should be banned from doing construction work. There will always be women who have an interest in those jobs. What I'm saying is that most women do not want those jobs and it has nothing to do with gender stereotypes. If women were left alone to make their own choices, I'll bet you any money that the majority of women would have no interest in working on scaffolds, or on roadworks, or down the sewer. This is based on biology, not gender stereotypes.

The thing that makes me angry is that feminists, liberals, and the media won't leave women alone. They are constantly trying to brainwash and confuse young women to make certain lifestyle choices. Why not just leave them alone? Maybe it's just my imagination, but it seems to me that there is an agenda to make men more feminine and make women more masculine. If we follow the logic of a crazy feminist or liberal, men should ignore a woman being attacked in the street by another man because she is just as strong and capable as a man to defend herself, and it would be sexist for another man to help her defend herself.

And what about gender neutral toilets? In a world of common sense there would be male and female toilets. But today there are some crazy people trying to convince the rest of us that gender neutral toilets are a good thing. But for us who still have common sense, we know very well that this will lead to more sexual assaults. What if a drunk, vulnerable woman went into a gender neutral toilet? This would allow a sexual predator to follow her in and assault her. It would also allow pervy men to perv on women while using the toilet. How can any sane person support such a thing? And where do you draw the line? Will we eventually have gender neutral changing rooms?

So yes, I believe that gender roles are beneficial for society. Yes there are exceptions, but exceptions should never supersede the general rule. That's my opinion.
