At this point in time, solar panels need more energy to build and transport them to their destination than they will generate during their expected useful life.
I... don't get how that's true. I live in Israel right now for college. It's on every roof. Things in other countries that are normal are luxuries here. Nice Kia in America = Porsche here. Drying machine here = the sun. Has to be a reason they are used in a country with only so many resources... remember, this is the middle of the desert... and yet... Israel still does ok. If you use solar panels for factories to make and transport solar panels... how is that true...
@errorgoodnameunfound solar panels are significantly more effective in a sunless desert environment than they are in places that have seasons and clouds.

@Cheetah23 What about the invention of the gene that knows how to make friends easier, and the hybrid of that gene so that person is not creepy and can be friendly to all?
So basically the invention of the child that makes everyone happy and can create a long line of friends. Right?
A gene isn't an invention, unless you're talking about a scientifically altered or replicated gene we humans have made... not that I've heard of that being invented by humans (im not denying it, simply saying I've never heard it), but thats completely different from just using the simple word "friends".
But yes, theoretically if that exists as a gene we humans have actually experimented and invented.
Uh... you don't have a phone? I know maybe it's not good to be obsessed with them, but hell, that's anything. You are between 18-24? It's almost impossible not to have a phone. If you hate them so much, then I'll gladly take yours and use it as a spare. Or donate it maybe to somebody who actually appreciates it. Education and friendships are more... concepts. Non physical concepts. We are talking inventions. Also, one could point out that somebody could abuse electricity just as much as phones. Making this... hypocritical... Kinda hard to believe you are supposedly young, yet hate phones and "brats in school." Tbh, you sound like a grumpy grandpa.

@Lukas_95 in that case we haven't invented shit... You can see round stones and stuff in nature - no wheel. You can see electricity on sky when thefe is a thunderstorm.

... American I am guessing? Why would it not be possible to have both? The automobile I guess is ok, but public transit is what needs to be pushed for. A true utopia would have transit for all to use so we wouldn't sit in traffic for two hours or risk death everyday to work because of some drunk idiot... Seriously don't get why solar panels are bad. You do realize in the country I am in, 1. it's on every roof, and 2, I think electricity here is cheaper than the US...

Perfect! See? Great compromise. I don't think anyone can go too wrong with solar or wind energy. It's just the competing industries' greed that tries to shove it away, yet what happens when those industries have no more resources? There will be quite literally no choice.
