  The difference is a wife could make her own decisions and leave but in Saudi Arabia or Egypt the sharia police bring her back to her husband. Remember in 1950s America women had a long history of doing things including flying planes, working in factories, driving, going to college etc even today most of that is not possible in Saudi Arabia or Egypt.

  Women weren't allowed to fight on ww2 expet as pilots. Hoever they faught on the frontlines in Russia. Sharia law isn't enforced in Egypt. And that's it. We still need feminsit in the east more but also still in the west

  Women here in Britain manned the AA guns, performed fire fighting duties, operated trains, worked on farms, drive lorries, worked in factories, decided encrypted enemy communications, directed fighter squadrons to battle etc and above all acted as spies and sabetouers behind enemy lines.
