My OPINION on “Real men” v. s. “Real women”

Remember this is my opinion on how I view this whole thing,

so don’t be too harsh please😅.

So recently there has been this thing going around about “Real men” and “real women”, and it seems to be tearing guys and girls apart. Both seem to be portraying what the ideal male/female should be in like the 16-1900, but the real problem isn’t necessarily our idealizations of the opposite gender but how it’s tearing the community apart. Guys are hitting girls for being hypocritical and only caring about their own gender roles in society, while girls are hitting guys for sexualizing them and degrading them. Both of these are valid statements and we all could do better as a society! I am not going to act like I haven’t been hitting at guys or going on my own little rampage because I have, but I am seeing what it’s doing and it’s going to be a girls vs guys war instead of us harmonizing and helping each other out. Not fighting and bickering about what the other gender should or shouldn’t do. And I think that the only thing that should make a “real women” or a “real man” should be entirely up to you. But if someone does happen to share their opinion we shouldn’t get caught up in who is “wrong” or “right” we should just except it and move on calmly.

I mean , that's more of a kindergarten flashback to me. If someone's bitter you just ignore them.
There are girls who are nice and not hypocritical at all , and there are guys who don't view girls as sexual objects. The ones who do are just being immature and hopefully will understand that or they'll just end up alone.

Every aspect of generalisation is bad. That's how racism started , that's how homophobia started. If we just don't pay attention to these quarrels and just focus on being good... We'll be making the world a better place

Nice take, and I agree with the sentiment. But the real problem isn't “real women” or a “real man” or other pettiness like that. That's just a symptom of a deeper problem. It's just people acting out because of the way they feel about the opposite sex, because we are angry with each other. But why? Why are men and women so deeply divided today? What is causing that divide? Why do men and women no longer love, support, admire and respect each other?

The good news is that anyone can make up their own ideals about what makes a real woman or real man. The bad news is that... anyone can make up their own ideals about what makes a real man or real woman.

I’ve realized that it’s kind of a pointless argument. A better argument, in my opinion, is one that makes more of an effort to distinguish between good and bad behavior - punishing bad behavior and rewarding good behavior.
