I’m pretty sure there are some that are not. That is a blanket statement. Black and white statement. Not everyone is either one way or the other. The true definition of evil is pretty descriptive. So I am not certain if every Billionaire fits the mold. Than we would probably have to accuse most people in this world of being evil at some point in there life based on their actions or motives. “Evil” is a very misunderstood and misused word. Just as “hate” is.
I don’t necessarily mean all of them are “evil” but more so ignorant. I just chose that title to express my feelings on most of them. I do think however most of them are selfish pricks that refuse to give away money to others that deserve it despite having more than enough for their own. Same thing with the government (Even though we’re in debt).
Sadly, that ever more prevalent trickle-down sham never got out of North America since Milton Friedman gave it a name and a theory. It already existed as an idea...
So... The USA have the highest wealth gap in the World, even bigger than Brasil in the last report I read...
Why are you still afraid of taxing the rich?
Almost all of what you call billionaires (short scale is for dummies and egos, sorry 🤷🏻♂️) are only so for a market distortion, be it a monopoly, oligopoly, cartelization, currency or other speculations, or other the SEC should pursue but just doesn't.
In Roosevelt's time philanthropic efforts were way more revered, one of the reasons you did it. Most of the extremely wealthy families are associated with Culture. It built museums, orchestras, stadiums and musical venues... Where are those now?
Some commit to doing something positive with what they have already, but two examples of the top of my head today, Bill Gates and Warren Buffet, are prime examples of the previous paragraph...
go build your own car company and stop complaining...
I do feel for people stuck in Europe commuter system, I suspect a lot of people are lost and disappear into the bowels of the world in that mess.
yes, there is poor distribution of wealth... been going bad for a long time. stop buying stocks, stop buying their garbage products, stop bailing out companies (corny capitalism), require your officals to stop spending, and apply some tax to the wealthy or donation benefits.
Yawn. Sick of people clamoring in jealousy and envy over other peoples things. I was raised poor. Took me 8 years to graduate college because I had to pay for it myself. Now I’m in med school because I busted my ass all on my own. I’m not wasting my time judging people or claiming I have the right to someone else’s money just because they have it. Sheesh
I realize you are probably a product of a public school system after the year that say 2007, but there are some things that your line of thinking don’t take into account about how does incentivizing becoming wealthy will ultimately end the nation. I would invite you to read the journals of William Bradford regarding his arrival and founding of Plymouth colony if you would like an object lesson in why Socialism does not work.
The question is would the homeless be able to keep their homes even if given one. Would they be able to afford to pay the property taxes, carbon taxes, the utility bills such as water, electricity, waste, heating oil or gas, and general house maintenance Not to mention food and medical and dental bills? Just being given a house may not solve the problems a homeless person has.
There’s a saying it says You gotta spend money to make money that’s what Elon does. He spends money so he can make more money. Millionaires billionaires Don’t wanna Become poor. And if they had a Million dollars like you said and only a million Elon would think of himself as poor.
You don't understand, the whole point of becoming a billionaire is so you can influence the world and setup your bloodline for generations. They sacrifice a lot to get that money if they don't simply inherit it.
You can't mandate altruism like that, it's tyranny. For the record, I think income disparity between workers and CEOs is disgusting and the gap should be tightened. Minimum wage is not cutting it with Bidenflation.
Most billionaire ruin the economy. Ruin peoples lives. Avoid paying taxes. Cause inflations. Pollute , buy so much crap they do not need. Control politicians. All bout money and power. The Uber greedy. I can't stand those people defending them, "they can do what they want with their money". Sure! If it didn't affect everyone else! Uber rich are so useless to society.
I think anytime we're generalizing a single demographic we need to review our stance. I don't know any billionaires personally. But to state they're all evil seems hard to prove. I work for a non public company, the owner is a billionaire, I've never met her. But she seems like an amazing woman.
Why the f*ck do the rich owe anybody a dmn thing?
Just because you’re envious they’ve made it further ahead in life than most other people?
How great it would be if we just rewarded people with money and luxuries who continually make bad choices in life. Instead of forcing them to change and address their bad and unproductive habits.
If you want to start a Go Fund Me for drug addicts, go ahead but they should be sending themselves over to treatment centers
Elon didn't start out as a billionaire. He started off a poor immigrant. He worked hard, had good ideas, and earned his billions. Paying taxes along the way, giving people good paying jobs, and providing goods and services to the masses making their lives better. If you think that is evil; I am afraid of what you consider good.
Because of capitalism none of these people are going to give you a dime and they would much rather die and have all their money buried with them than to do something like that. They view it as somehow being immoral. The very worst thing that any conservative can think of is that somebody somewhere might have gotten a penny that they didn't actually earn at hard labor.
@bayoubob Most people have no normal philantrophy because holding on to money is so essential under Capitalism, where only a small percentage of people are ever really financially comfortable.
Most the people responding don't realize how much better off they would be if billionaire's wealth was redistributed. It makes sense from an individualist perspective as well; you'd have better social programs, better infrastructure, free college, etc. Who cares what happens to those billionaires? It doesn't affect you!
This is my EXACT point
Who is anybody to tell people period how to distribute their wealth? That's what is great about Capitalism. To simply say they don't enough is mental. You don't tell me how to distribute my wealth do you? I'm fiscally responsible. Where as too many people are not. I will never starve, I will never not have a vehicle, I will never not have a roof over my head. That is the American Dream. I have it. So, just because I'm fiscally responsible does not give you the right to tell me I must make it so I can't save money and have it sit where I see fit. You can't take my money. Everyone lives within their means, or they don't, and they bitch like you.
the rich and super rich seem addicted to this humanity thing... i think if helping people is the key to heaven they be kissing God on the cheek for helping a lot of people or be able to be on the top most hierarchy near God
Just imagining this being said from a bankrupt broke guy who is angry at those, who worked 80 hours a Week to get where they are today and basically that's enough said.
The rich can do with their money as they please. They did philantrophy too but that goes unnoticed since you weren't benefitting from them.
Billionaires tend to be employers of many, either directly through businesses they won or indirectly through their spending, or by both. Those employees work, get paid, support their families, and pay taxes that help support the Welfare State.
Look up the pareto principal in wealth inequality. In any system, there is always going to be inequality in wealth.
Maybe you can convince the lump of a governor in IL to pay off the state's debt with his personal fortune instead of mouthing off about how he's helping things. yech
Millionaire aren’t but billionaires are because they surely abused power and caused a monopoly.
They aren't so using the house metaphor, the houses need building so houses go up to a million on average
Forgetting 99% of billionaire assets aren't in cash and couldn't be liquidated easily if they wanted to do so
In don’t think you’re getting my point. There very well may be hidden fees such as taxes and mortgages but the point is, America is FULL of resources that everyone can use if they were dispersed properly. I’m not saying the “buying houses with 42 billion dollars for homeless people” is a perfect method to ending suffering (At least in America) but it’s definitely better than buying a literal social media app. There are about 16 million vacant houses in America and 550,000 homeless people. Tell me why none of them deserve to at least get the cheapest of those houses for free.
I’m sure you know that the government LOVES to waste money on bullshit like gender studies or the military despite ours being the largest. The sad thing is, if the government decided to pour a fraction of that money into the worse off citizens, then it could help so many people but we’re too greedy to even do that. Again, everyone deserves to have enough before anyone can have too much. I won’t stop repeating that.
You're clearly a liberal and that doesn't gel with me but bulldozing the houses, building community facilities and killing off the overpopulation is a very liberal move so get on with it
