The reason millionaires are miserable is that joy comes by helping others and not by receiving help from others and when I’m not able to help others, imagining and visualizing myself helping others brings me the same joy that physically or socially helping them would. But when I imagine people helping me, my joy disappears. This is a simple idea but most people never discover it or learn it. This is a Christian idea and it’s also a Jewish idea and I suspect Universal in all world religious traditions as well.

I do find joy in it because I worked to get there, I was helped and taught by people and their experience, their knowledge that they shared brought me joy. Knowledge, achievements and the wonderful people I met along the way all gave me joy.

Please explain to me why we are screwing ourselves with 401ks and major shareholders buying back split shares with dividends?

While your advice is good wisdom, how much is enough? If we don’t ask for more, they may think they’re helping just by giving paltry amounts.

That might be true but I would believe members of the church put it together for their own agenda.
