Former Cosmo Writer exposes how they purposely helped confusing original feminism with sexual liberation:
I agree 100% with her original reasons for becoming a feminist. And I agree that the fashion industry is all about making women feel insecure about themselves so that they will buy products and medical procedures.
But I don't understand how the sexual revolution harmed women. Female contraception is a miracle. It allows women to live life without fear of unwanted pregnancy. And the right to abortion is part of that.
I am opposed to using abortion is a means of contraception. But sometimes accidental or unwanted pregnancies happen. And what about cases in which the fetus is deformed or the woman's life is at risk? In those cases, I have zero problem with early term abortion; even later term in some extreme instances.
Keeping their job isn't the only reason why some women opt for abortion. That's rarely if ever the case anymore. But other reasons can arise.
It sounds like her reason for opposing abortion is religious. But legislating against a woman's right to abortion based on religious beliefs violates the separation of church and state. Not all women are Christian or religious. And even some Christian women can find themselves in need of an abortion.
People have a right to their opinions on contraception and abortion and even sexuality, but they don't have the right to impose their opinions on others.
Also, I think a woman's medical needs should be between her and her doctor. The state should not be involved. That's an invasion of privacy and an infringement on civil rights. If anything, the medical establishment can establish guidelines on when abortion is ethical.
What's wrong with the morning after pill or chemical abortion within 10 weeks of pregnancy? Hell, some people even oppose contraception. I don't think the rights of a prune-size fetus with no functioning organs at 10 weeks supersedes a woman's rights.
Regarding the sexual revolution, something I find demeaning is referring to women as bitches and hoes, and the overtly sexualized forms of dancing that have become popular. I think THOSE represent the opposite of feminism.
And celebrating biological men as women is also something that should be opposed by feminists. It's a war against biological women.

yeah third and fourth wave feminism are complete garbage; to an extent, second wave also sucks too (though i mostly agree with it). only first wave feminism i can 100% get behind with its values however.
A lot of feminism especially today is all about excusing and validating shitty immoral behaviour.
