During this somber moment, I want to take this opportunity to express my sheer disappointment, sadness, and anger I feel as to what our nation has become. Many of you feel as if you are living in the Twilight Zone in a state of disbelief about our country's demise. I cannot agree with you more, and as I watch everything plunge into despair and chaos, I write this during one of many sleepless nights I am enduring.
Prior to the 2008 Great Recession, there was a sense of normalcy and prosperity. Society retained a sense of decency, and as a child during this time, I did not foresee the downwards spiral I have witnessed over this past decade and a half.
I truly believe the 2008 Great Recession and housing market crash marked a time in history when chaos started becoming more evident and noticeable. I can recall mentioning to my 8th grade teacher about the diminishing moral fabric in this country. I am sure there were many circumstances leading up to this, but this was the time when I really began to take notice.
The Obama presidency brought about the era of aggressive identity politics and social engineering practices. This was also an era where we saw a rise in "Political Correctness" (PC) culture, "Social Justice Warrior" mobs and causes, and the highly used and abused race card. This was often weaponized to criticize dissent in radical left-wing policies and agendas. This is also a time when we saw controversial socialist agendas unfold. Tensions among racial, ethnic, and gender/sexual orientational lines were flaring where they hadn't to the magnitude before. As Americans and the middle-class continued to be strapped financially, we saw a deterioration of traditions, family units, and our values crumble. Our very means of life were greatly challenged and placed on a pedestal of criticism. Family relations deteriorated due to a contrast in sociopolitical ideologies.
Once Obama served his two terms in office, we were already polarized and deeply divided. When Trump was elected into office, the biased media was already in attack mode. Americans were truly astonished and surprised when Trump assumed office, and the media relentlessly forged their war on Trump during his term in office, as his agenda and policies contradicted what was historic of the first "man of color" to be president put in place before him. The narrative that Trump himself and his voters were "racist" and against "progress" exploded across the political realm. This further fueled polarization and tensions.
When Trump lost his reelection attempt to Biden, there was another crisis impacting the US: COVID. This spurred another spiral downwards. In addition to this crisis, identity politics and social engineering exploded to new heightened levels with DEI, woke, and CRT initiatives. In the meantime, one of the greatest scandals was among us: the cover up of the cognitive decline of a sitting president. As abuses of power, lawfare, inflation, and controversial moral abominations run rampant, the cognitive impairments of Biden were being concealed and downplayed. Unelected bureaucrats took advantage of this vulnerability and put forth actions that further dismantled our nation. In addition, illegal aliens from largely broken nations poured into our country by the millions and were aided by taxpayer funds.
When Trump managed to defeat the left once again, this was a truly historic comeback. Although, since Trump has been in office once again, everyday Americans continue to struggle with everyday essentials such as groceries, housing, and utilities. Homeownership is still unobtainable for younger generations. The job market is in a state of despair for graduates, young professionals, and even experienced professionals alike. We are facing increasing turbulence with our adversaries and fears of a new world war. We are also facing dangerous tensions from within. While Trump has managed to dismantle a lot of harmful DEI and social engineering practices that have plagued us during the leftist regime's rein and has tackled illegal immigration fiercely, I believe we are imminently going to collapse. The looming AI automation and displacement crisis I believe will be the final nail in the coffin, as the wealth gap grows larger and the middle class continues to die.
