Will the "blue tidal wave" backfire on Democrats?

Democrat Socialists have opportunistically crept into the political landscape while attention has been diverted to Trump. I understand the strategy. Although I agree with much of Trump's agenda, I do not endorse him as a person and I am certainly not inviting him to join me for Thanksgiving dinner. His bluster about making Canada a state, purchasing Greenland, renaming the Gulf of Mexico and Lake Ontario, etc. have made him an easy target for ridicule. And while I believe that most Americans support military action against Iran, even his supporters are asking why this military action could not have been concluded more expeditiously.

Will the blue tidal wave backfire on Democrats?

In my opinion, the recent election results do not represent an acceptance and approval of a Democrat Socialist agenda; no, the results only indicate a rejection of Trump (with the result amplified, of course, by the MSM's absolute lack of objectivity.) In the meanwhile, socialists have been elected into office and the next two years will produce a parade of efforts to change the fabric of the country in such a fundamental way that many Democrats will follow Sen. Fetterman's example in distancing themselves from the Democrat party.

Over the next two years, many Republicans will try to distance themselves from Trump and many Democrats will try to distance themselves from the Socialists. This movement will be easier for the Republicans because Trump is a lame duck, but I expect that a number of Democrats will either outright change their party affiliation or at least start caucusing with the Republicans. This will be an excellent opportunity for the Republicans to forge an alliance that may shape national politics for the next 20 years. And . . . the more attention the Socialists get over the next two years, the easier it will be for the Republicans to hold on to the White House in 2028. That's my opinion; what do you think?
