This isn't what I'm saying, it's what you say on here. Religion tends to have the subtle effect created where its followers adopt an unconscious "us vs. them" mentality. It can be seen in the never-ending arguments about morality, who has it or not, or people thinking it's something purely objective to begin with. And this is where it comes out in you. It's one thing to not follow by certain lifestyles... nobody is asking you to. But it's another thing entirely to look down on others or think you do things slightly better, simply because of your religious followings or teachings.
And the worst part about this is: you can't show someone with this sort of subtle superiority complex that they do have it. That's because the complex loops back around on itself and tells the person "They're just talking nonsense or making a personal attack". So with people being so self-important to think that it's just 'haters' after them, they continue to be the moral police.
A little of both, as I was responding at first to you in particular but this also applies to others belonging to massive, organized religions as well. I don't think the disclaimer of "of course not all are like this" needs to be said in detail, as people understand that point well enough these days I think.
And what of all the other people that YOU have talked down to? Either unknowingly or you just wanting to avoid the obvious, do you care to change how you think of people that aren't like you? You don't have to conform to them or bow down to them. But just simply "living and let live" will do.
You don't need to do anything because I doubt you're going to do anything else than what would be expected of someone being called out for something (which is deny and fight to the death). If it takes me being "insulting" in your eyes to make you realize talking or looking down on others isn't cool, then that's perfectly fine with me. I don't have to live with you.
go show me one time where iv talked down another religion or lack of religion. I'm quite accepting of people who aren't like me, and it's ur issue that u can't recognise that. i needn't justify that because i know it well.
anyway, just remember that ur paragraphs have no effect on me. thanks for ur time tho.
you have no argument, what you say shows only butthurt egoism. so what if you've been talked down to? who cares? does that stigmatize Christ or even mere religion per se, or only certain indiscreet individuals? plus i think religious people are right. you cannot be truly moral without God. yes, i'm an ex christian, but ex only because i like to sin. thats all there is to atheism in the end. its just that most people won't admit it or are too blind to see. only someone who has experienced the grace knows what a real good person is like (or the struggle of becoming one at least). your confusion is excused cause you are probably totally stranger to the path of repentance. (even for being concious about your sinfulness, even that alone needs spiritual maturity and divine illumination. thats why you can have super intelligent people in the mundane sense, that live though in absolute darkness and blindness).
I'm not even talking about religions in the sense that you talk down to them. I'm talking about your answers concerning other people's lifestyles that you bring your own religion (or religious beliefs, rather) into. The most numerous I've seen is the classic bit where you associate self-respect with sex somehow.
So no, that isn't talking down to other religions and I don't know where you got that from? But the idea that these two things are related is unmistakably a religious concept. And that's just that one topic or subject that I mentioned.
It's just ironic to see you write something like this, is all I'm saying. Your opinions posted on here may be harmless to you and nobody has to follow them or any others on this site (not singling you out)... but they're still unconscious jabs at people. And like I mentioned earlier, that's the problem where a person doing this doesn't even realize it, and can't be convinced of it either.

When given the proposal to set up a democracy in Sparta, Lycurgus replied with "Begin with your own family".
So with that being said, let's start with you and your superiority complex you have on this site ;)

im not sure if ur referring to me directly or religious people as a whole.

ok, so y should i waste my time reasoning with u when u won't apologise for insulting me? sorry. won't have it.
