Who Cries The Most At The End Of A Relationship?

Altogether, no matter how the relationship ends.

I think it's usually girls who cry the most because it's the most obvious they are hurt by it.
But I think boys do cry too at the end of a relationship but they hide their feelings well about it.

The person who got cheated on will probably cry the most... no doubt about that.

Generally men tend to either hide their feelings by crying alone, or internalising the pain into bouts of unfocused anger before they cry later, while women more readily go into long periods of sobbing, often with friends... however I voted 'boys' because of one major factor. In otherwise amicable relationships I have often seen women go out of their way to fire heartbreaking remarks at their partners, as though trying to get revenge for the pain they feel, regardless of the pain their now former partner already feels, then feel satisfied that they scored points by causing pain.

Might just be some of the people my friends have dated, but it's significant enough an event that I think it counteracts the male tendency to get angry and vent initially rather than crying.

It kind of depends on the relationship and the couple really... I ain't going to claim innocence and say that I haven't directed insults at an recent-been-broken-up-with ex, because I have. But I don't think it bothered him in anyway, I broke up with him because he was abusive and he cheated on me so I directed the 2 years of abuse I endured at him, plus my best friend put him in hospital when I finally told him what he did to me.

But all relationships are different...

But perhaps a difference there is that your abusive ex got the shit kicked out of him, and he was the villain. If someone did that to my abusive ex (or while on the subject the exes of my two best mates), she (they) would be the victim.

No. I figure at that point in the relationship you can just be glad it's over, and start to realise how awefully you were treated, rather than worrying about why it ended.

guys take it harder in my opinion, but guys are experts at bottling their feelings up inside. we feel like it will threaten our masculinity. we will cry, but we will be alone, and nobody will know how bad it feels but you. I think it takes much longer for the guy to get over it. If the guy was really in love, it will feel like a piece of him has died inside.

I've never seen my best friend cry (he's male btw) but I know that he does. He's told me he's cried over me when I told him about how bad I got bullied in school and when we fell out.

Guess it depends on the nature of the break up.. but I cried a lot because he broke up with me, I don't know if he cried but the first time he broke up with me he cried, the second time I just was normal

That's hard to say since many guys tend to cry in private while girls are more willing to cry in front of you. Since I believe though that guys tend to fall in love faster, harder, I'll say guys.

Guys cry most. Why? We hide our true emotions away in fear of being disposed of by society for not "being a man".

This is why I think the phrase "man up" is such a revolting thing - girls cry because they're human... men are humans... therefore men cry too : it's only logical.

It's tough to say because girls are more likely to be comfortable crying in the presence of others. Guys on the other hand will do whatever they can to keep themselves from being seen.

I don't know I cry a lot after a breakup, usually alone.. i'll make sad posts, write sad poems and songs, listen to my sad playlists and stare off into the distance.. when i get attached to someone I'm REALLY attached..

The gender doesn't matter so much. Girls may show more emotion, sure. But it's the dumpee who always hurts more than the dumper. Rejection after a bonded relationship just cuts like a knife.

That way they become prepared for the ending, they still cry but not as much as an unexpected break-up.

However, when a guys cries it means a lot more. I believe the guy takes it harder actually unless he broke it off.

You say once a relationship ends you run straight to your fwb's, obviously shows you have no regard for your ex's feelings and that you never really loved them.
One day, you will find someone who means the world to you and would do anything to see her happy, smile and laugh and most importantly, your heart will beat JUST FOR HER. If that relationship should end you will break down, weep and sob like a baby that running to your fwb's would be the very last thing you would want to do.

Even though I was the one who said I had enough of him, he was the one who deleted and blocked me on Facebook... so I guess he kind of twisted it to sound like he was the one that left me. To be honest, it doesn't matter who left who, but it was obvious it was about me from the comments.
