What should a guy without much style wear to a college party?

Casual wear is what I'm shooting for (these aren't dressy parties)

I pretty much just wear jeans and athletic shirts all the time, but I want to change it up a bit.

I'm specifically looking for tips on tops, bottoms, and shoes.

I usually aim on being slightly over-dressed. That way you'll stand out and people will think, "oh, he looks good". As long as you aren't too over-dressed it will be good, otherwise then you might come off as try-hard.

So my advice is to look at the other people. If they wear t-shirts you wear a shirt, or at least a classy t-shirt. If they wear sneakers, you wear dress shoes, or at least sneakers that are more classy.

By the way, I don't like shirts with short sleeves. Buy long sleeves and roll them up instead, that looks much better I think.

the shirt you posted is nice. honestly all the parties I go to guys pretty much get away with wearing anything. I'd say 75% wear tshirts and the rest wear shirts like the one you had in mind. As far as shoes, nothing dressy, good chance you'll have beer spilled on them anyways. As cheesy as it sounds wear whatever you're comfortable in. You can have the greatest outfit in the world but if you look uncomfortable in it, it won't look good. have fun :)

Your casual, usual style sounds just fine.

Ain't nothin' wrong with a pair of jeans and a t-shirt.

But that Pac Sun shirt is pretty fly or any other kind of button-up, borderline dressy shirt, so you could try that with some dark wash jeans and some nice black sneakers.

The shirt you picked out is good, pair it with some jeans and basic sneakers and you're good to go.
