Chicago crime by race. Blacks and Hispanics commit more crimes than others. Why?

And of the Northern District of Illinois' Master Jury Wheel at the time, with more than 76% of the 50,000 jurors on it being white, 10% being Hispanic/Latino, 8% being Black, and the remaining 7% being Asian or 'other'. Given that level of imbalance in the courts, is it any wonder that Blacks and Hispanics are arrested for allegedly having committed these crimes, and convicted of them, at a far higher rate than white people are? People look after their own, and empathize with their own community more than others. You're effectively asking why juries comprised predominantly of relatively older, affluent and middle class white people are so much less likely to find white people guilty of committing violent crimes than they are to find Black and Latino people to be guilty of violent crimes. Gee, I wonder why?

Many theories. Some will say that blacks are predisposed to violent crime genetically.
But the far more plausible response is that it is due to social factors, particularly lack of education and poor environment (these two go hand in hand though.)
If you want crime to drop educate people.

The conviction rate in Japan is abnormally high at over 92%. It could mean that the Japanese police are exceptional at digging out evidence and the prosecutors are good in the court. Or it could be because the Japanese police just sweep everything under the rug and only prosecute defenseless people or only when they are absolutely secured with their evidence to quarant a conviction. That means most of the criminals just laugh and leave.

US police is the same. They do not prosecute people who can lawyer up (read: rich people) unless they are super certain with their evidence AND they think the result would be something substantial. For defenseless people with an over worked public attorney, who only wants settlements and move on, they will get prosecute as long as they think there is a chance.

Crime is most often a result of poverty and, since the majority of American blacks live in single-parent households, it wouldn't be a great leap to say that the majority of blacks in these crime-ridden areas are poor and turn to crime to make ends meet.

you will find in cities where its mexicans and whites and very few blacks the city will be one of the safest in the country. when its just whites safest in the country just mexicans safest in the country as soon as blacks are over represented in a city meaning more then 13% of the population. when they reach about 20% of the population the crime rate explodes. im currently writing a paper on this and trying to come up with a mathematical equation that can predict rates of violent crime taking into consideration population density, income, racial composition and average age by race.

All these cities have something in common. They all have a Black population of over 50% and have one of the lowest crime rates in the entire nation. These cities are where the affluent Black population lives ($70,000 - $300,000 income) and as you can see no body is getting shot in the road or raped or assaulted or gangbanging.

Your premise that blacks brings crime is flawed and is not back by any study since Race and Crime do not correlate and NEVERED correlated. Poverty that is isolated to one geographical areas produces a counterculture which then breeds criminality.

Also, Mexico has a murder rate higher then the US and Canada combined, but there's hardly any Black's (1.16% of the population) in Mexico so why the large crime rate?

Well your study is limiting itself since majority of the cities in the US are below 200,000.

I don't know what made your study choose cities with 200k and above, but a city does not need 200k in order to be classified as a city. As long as the region in question has a mayor and it's own city council, then it can be regarded as a city regardless of if its population is 100, 20K, 50K or 500K.

Uhm I am going to have to do a little bit of correction. The African American family's plight does not trace it's roots to feminism although yes Women's suffrage does play a part in this, but that is more recent. The no father figure can be traced back to *surprise surprise* Chattle Slavery. The Enslaved African family was broken apart, usually because the women were raped and bred like cattle while the Slave owners (whites mostly.) sold their sons, daughters and husbands to work. This continued on until Jim Crow where these (now instinctual due to the length of this retched crime). and into the newest form which is to fund the prison systems. Yes, remove the patriarchy and you get children who are in families that are out of balance. and thus violence ensues.

History... if you look at history many races were abused which lead to poverty which passes on through each generation. Let's say because of history a mother and father were poor, abusive and lived in poverty. They have a child who's raised by abusive parents and that often leads to crime, then they have children and it's a repeating cycle. Obviously some break it though but it's a vicious cycle. That leads to increased poverty and crime in minority races because of history.

@madelacroix The Asian community is tight knit, as well as people in China and America in the Asian communities look out for each other. They receive loans from each other or from China. We are the only people in America who were stripped of All ties from Africa due to Chattle slavery (haha thanks by the way. anyways). We are also denied loans due to a negative cycle that occurs in this process that was originally meant to keep the minorities in check back during Jim Crow but now it is instinctual. Let me break it down: African Americans are seen as a bad investment due to impoverished area, they cannot start their own businesses, they make less money because more money circles Out of the community than in, the area degrades due to this, African Americans go to receive a loan for a business, they are denied due to being seen as a bad investment. Negative cycle. And also as a side note? BULLSHIIIT. Asians only suffered, what? For a decade? Try 400+ years and ours wasn't voluntary.
