My Girlfriend's Mother Died... What Can I Do?

I met my girlfriend online about 4 months ago. We really love each other and our relationship is really good. Her mother died 3 days ago... and ever since, she's been really quiet, understandably so. I've never lost a parent, so I don't know what this is like. What's worse is I don't know what to say to her. I've tried comforting her but you can only do so much over the Internet... I tried to get her to talk to me, but she seems to be ignoring most of what I say... which is weird, since she IM's me first and doesn't say anything for a long time until I start talking. I'm really worried about her... she says she's fine, but I don't think she is. Could anyone please tell me what I can do to help her deal with her loss? I'd do anything to help her... especially in a time like this. I wish I could be there for her, but I can't =/. Any and all tips would be appreciated. Thank you. :).

look, what she has just gone through is traumatic and she probs doesn't know how to cope, she doesn't know what she needs or wants from you. she's freaking out and she probably doesn't know what to do, how to act, or how to grieve so there is no way you can know how to act and no one can tell you what to do. everybody mournes differently and the death of your mother is something you never get over. it gets better but like any death, you don't just forget. she might want to talk, she might not, just try to be there for her as best you can. even if it means nothing more than sitting with her in silence. She might want to be alone and she might not, let her know you care and let her know you'll be there for her.

She needs you more than anything right now. With Ur company it will help deal with this horrible loss.. Tell her that she has a special angle watching above that she is in heaven guarding you and love form up above.. Showing that you are there for her means allot her.
