Regardless of whether they do actually have something to fight for or not, I do agree that they did something wrong along the way. Probably should've done more to distance themselves from their loud extremists, get a better PR team lol. There needs to be more ration and logic within their arguments, and less emotion with anger. This would probably give the feminists a favorable position
I guess that those not participating in the third wave of feminism (or emancipation if you will) may be met by hatred for not supporting the others needs. But for sure, they are then satisfied by now, considering what had already been achieved by women in this world. Anyways, I'm happy about every female viewing the goals of feminism as accomplished, for I would no longer be viewed as an enemy.
Preaching equality while dismissing empathy is hypocritical. Thats the issue with modern feminism. They're way to quick to dismiss social/economic issues that come with being male. If you believe in equal rights then call yourself an egalitarian.
Genuine feminists from past eras like 1850s or 1950s are for the most part great. The ones now are a disgrace to the true feminists. Their nutty, I don't like how they act like victims and don't think beyond their scope of view.
modern feminism is perfectly fine. the biggest issue are internet kids watching feminism YouTube hate videos and treating the entire movement based on that.
Lol thanks but I've said this before and I'm pretty sure everyone on gag knows it by now. Modern feminism is really unhealthy and it promotes an unhealthy way of thinking. Instead of focusing on women's strengths it victimizes them. Most of them (not all feminists) are so angry and bitter about gender roles in society but we will never be like men. I personally don't want to be a man or be seen as one. I'm a woman and I want to be a better version of that. It's too early sorry if this doesn't make sense I'm just having my coffee 🙈
Agreed. I think that radical feminists need to open their minds to multiple perspectives. I think feminists have fought for so long that they almost feel they can't acknowledge points of criticism or the issues of others because they feel it'll damage their standing. They also need to accept that men and women are different, and that equality is not about being the same: it's equal rights and opportunity, the ability to choose.
Exactly! Our generation has strayed so far away from what true feminism is. It's up to us to change the way it's viewed and turn it into something healthy and empowering for the next generation.
These women or movement have won. The courts and the system work against men. In fact, men fight amongst one another in Western society. Men are the enemy. The men who are in power listen to women more because there are more women voters. Men can bitch and complain but no one listens. Ironically, though, feminists supporting Islam and allowing male "refugees" enter will lead to the demise of western society.
i don't know much but i think as when it was going successful and famous , people who were against it started doing things again it and opposed it till it started failing a little my answer is shitty but i think maybe something like this happened
Come to my place of work. Modern feminism is in full swing. I don't think it's failing at all.

Western Feminists are the most hypocritical people I ever met. They say that men's rights are misogynistic, patriarchal, and sexist while they are bashing men for reminding them that women and men's rights are equally important. Other women in many parts of the world do not have gender equality like women in the West do.
@madhatters4 But it was changing rapidly and by 1993 it was illegal in every state so fine not by the 1980's but by the early 1990's they won so I don't even know what they're fighting for now
in the general population women are still far more likely to be raped than men. is that equality? is that not something worth advocating change for? 1in6 women are victims of rape. 90% of all victims are women. women in colleges are 3x's more likely to be raped than women in the rest of the population
is that equality or is it something that needs to be addressed and advocated for?
women are in a far better place they were than the early 1900s when feminism began. that is undeniable but to they are totally equal is totally inaccurate.
@madhatters4 But that's a society issue not a legal issue demanding equal rights won't change it, and women are more likely to be raped yes but in all other regards men have a much higher risk of being exposed to violence. They make the majority of people murder, people robbed, workplace injuries, and combat deaths. Men are treated unfairly in divorces and in courts compared to women.
and feminism doesn't only advocate for political or legal matters but societal matters as well.
men commit suicide at a rate about 6x's higher than men. that is not a legal or political matter but a societal one and it is a matter egalitarians, MRAs and even feminism advocate awareness for
and this isn't a question about men's rights. that is an entirely different matter, so bringing it up does nothing to say that women are or are not equal. yes there are areas in which men are treating unfairly. but that's a matter for another conversation
@madhatters4 Even in societal matters women are (not always but often) given preferential treatment over men though. I'm not saying that women don't still have their problems but compared to men overall they are not any worse off
again we aren't comparing the plight of men and women. the question is are women equal. so if women still have issues a point you cede (and being the victims of rape 90% of the time is a clear issue) then they aren't equal in that regard and therefore advocacy regarding the matter should be necessary.
men are unequal to women in areas. i don't think it's prudent to compare whose plight is worse. where there is inequality wherever it may be it should be the goal of humanity to eradicate it.
@madhatters4 I agree with you that both men and women issues in terms of inequality should be addressed the problem is most feminists I come across ignore men's issues just calling men privileged. Third wave feminists instead of looking at the real issues women have they are just calling all men evil , demanding rights they already have, and trying to force other women to adopt the same lifestyle as them s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/.../...nny-things.jpg
well third wave feminism isn't feminism. it's like malcom x before he changed his posiition saying that blacks were superior while saying he was a civil rights activist. feminist groups have long advocated for issues regarding to men. at the women's march in January (or was it february) in DC there were speakers for MRA that discussed issues like family leave for children in regards to parents. feminism pushed to have the legal definition of rape cover men (because believe it or not there was a time when most states said did no consider rape of men illegal). feminism made it more acceptable for men to work in professions like nursing and teaching (once nearly 100% female professions).
sadly i think 3rd wavers and "feminazis" have unfairly created the notion that feminism is no longer about equality but female superiority. anyone who says that stuff is in fact not a feminist at all but a supremacist
and i think more "true" feminist, similar to what i try to do on this site, need to vocally speak out against those who call themselves feminist but are not actually for equality
and trust me i've gotten into it with so-called "feminists"
@madhatters4 I think that's where the confusion was. We may have disagreed on whether women and men were equal or not. We do agree though that first and second wave feminism were good because I actually don't have an issue with the First and Second Wave feminism, my problems are mainly with the Third Wave feminism but you agree with me on Third Wave Feminism.
it is not what it used to be. hopefully this is the wake up call society needs. it would be sad if women's rights would erode after all the progress that was made.

Thanks
what for?
I do believe modern feminism has failed and will continue to fail if they don't learn how to clearly express themselves.
Finally a female answer!
If I could upvote twice I would.
Oh while I have you here: got any suggestions to make it better?

No that makes perfect sense to me. Thanks for elaborating.
Honestly I think the first step would be to change the way it's perceived.

Yes it became useless by the 1980's because by that point men and women were completely equally now they're just annoying
in the 1980s there were still several states that allowed men to rape their wives. is that equality?
@madhatters4 That's a good point.
@madhatters4 But it was changing rapidly and by 1993 it was illegal in every state so fine not by the 1980's but by the early 1990's they won so I don't even know what they're fighting for now

Feminism sucks, but sadly, it's still going strong.
I'm pretty disappointed in modern feminism. Extremists or not.
modern feminism is useless. that's why fewer and fewer people subscribe to it every day. yea its dying
Feminism started out well, but now it's pointless. The movement is full of whining and hate.
it is not what it used to be. hopefully this is the wake up call society needs. it would be sad if women's rights would erode after all the progress that was made.
I don't even think you can call it feminism at this point. It's just women complaining about men.
It's far past failing... it's now just an easy indication of mental illness.
This isn't new this has been going around for decades since sociopaths like Ann Dworkin were given a platform.
It already has failed.
Wanna elaborate forward?
