I'm proud of my nationality and proud over what my country has achieved. But I've no race pride and sees no reasons why my hair, eyes and skin color should be that important.
I'm Norwegian and what I loves about my country is our democracy, freedom speech, peace, welfare state, nature, clean water and our culture. As a nation we've achieved and evolved very much. We went from a poor country to a rich one thanks to some luck, much work and good leaders. We also transition from the savage violent viking country to the peaceful, civilized democracy we've today.
A value I really likes in Norway is that as a community helping each other and share on our benefits is important. If someone gets injured, sick or too old to work nobody are going to punish them for not being able to work. They gets a living (Disability benefits or pension) and our country have free health care and education for everyone. The point with this is making the gap between poor and rich lesser. In the US healthcare costs a lot and not everyone are able to afford health insurance.

sure i guess i'm proud of it. i'm African, native American and English (probably some other things i'd like to do one of those gene tests).
not too surprising that you are 8% African. there were African slaves in mexico additionally some black slaves from the USA sought freedom in Mexico... and per science humanity began in africa
I was actually very ashamed of it, but now I am very proud of it. Both of my parents are from the 3rd biggest Caribbean Island, which is Haiti, the country that shares Hispanola with the Dominican Republic. My mother is a white haitian (full european descent and yes, white haitians do exist!) and my father is a black haitian. I was never ashamed of being half black, I was ashamed because of the people perceived Haiti, like it's just a shitty place, when it's quite beautiful, the earthquake didn't destroy everything and we have beautiful beaches, culture, festivals, food and music. Naturally I speak French, one of haiti's national language, and mostly spoken in Northern Haiti. I did a DNA test also, I was really shocked instead of finding French blood, it was all Spaniard and the Iberia Peninsula (48%) and 40% (West African) and 12% Native American, which makes sense because the Tainos were spread all throughout the Caribbean islands. My bestfriend is Mexican by the way, but she pretends she Hawaiian, Mexico has such great food and a rich culture. I still will never understand why she doesn't embrace it. I've gotten really in touch with my culture, culture is everything, everyone should embrace it.
Sure.
I see some people say why be proud of something you can't control but I say being proud of your heritage is like being proud of your family. If you had an uncle who beat the odds and was the first one in your family or your city to achieve something you would be proud of him although you have no control over him. If someone said "are you proud of your family", you would say yes, not "How... I wasn't born during their accomplishments" . You would know their accomplishments because you know their history... . When you know the history of your nationality, ethnicity , race, etc you can take pride in it. As Americans alone if your culture is Chinese, Black, Irish, etc you might feel pride to know how they persevered despite odds when shaping this country. If you're Jewish you know how strong and faithful Jewish people had to be to exist in the 1940s. I'd be proud to be Jewish too. Generational storytelling might be a lost art but if you have elders in your family who just share how they kept their language or even a recipe throughout centuries before written words , then of course you would take pride in that
I'm proud of myself yes my race not really black lives matter when cops attack us but when we kill off ourselfs SMDH we need to stop shooting and killing our own kind on the news it's no surprise but as soon as a cop is involved all hell breaks loose we need to stop it we struggle so long it's not ok for someone not our colour to say the N word but it's ok for us to say it hell to the no it's disgusting and ashames me you feel proud calling each other n**** nothing there to be proud of being called the N word at all :/
Not really, I am not ashamed or proud of my race/nationality, I just am who I am. I do hope to figure out more of my ancestry though. History fascinates me so I would love to learn more about my own family history to see where they came from and how they lived.

I'm just proud of ME in general.
Can't remember my exact percentage but on ancestry. com I got something like 37% Finnish/Russian, 20% Swedish, 20% something African and then also mix of others.
Surprised me cause I thought I was more Swedish than anything, turns out I wasn't. Even so, I love my mix, people can never seem to guess where I'm from, makes me a bit mysterious 😛
However I do not feel Swedish (my nationality), I don't feel like I truly belong to any nationality, I'm even seen as a foreigner there and the current country I live in. I've lived in different places in the world so I guess that's had an effect, even more since I'm mixed.
And race is such a strange concept to me, some say I'm white, others say I'm black because of one drop rule, others have no idea what on earth I am. 😅 My race is: the human race.I suppose I can say that I'm proud to be Caucasian. I do have my "white privilege" moments every now and then. I have known some brown friends who have been pulled over at the airport when going through security, just from stereotyping. Being white, I have never been pulled over by any security or cops.
Am I proud of my nationality? Hell yeah! Oh, sorry. I meant, yes I am. Being Canadian definitely has it's perks. Rarely do I see any rude Canadians.
Since this opinion will be too long, I'll have to cute it short. Yes I am proud of my ethnicity and heritage.Well, I'm not ashamed of them!
I believe that merit (and pride) should mostly come from your personal contributions and work rather than what people from your clan/country/race etc did.
I know a (grown) man who always brags about the money his brothers have, but him himself has an empty bank account, so he is taking the credit merits of his brothers without contributing to a single thing.
Being proud of something other people did is a bit... weird to me.
However, I really like and i'm not ashamed of being a Tunisian Arab ( most likely a mixture of Amazigh genes, Arab genes and a little Andalusian/South European genes)! I think we have a beautiful culture and great history for a small country.I'm proud of my heritage. My uncle of 6 generations back could be considered the founder of the American navy. (John Paul Jones) I don't know what cultures I really come from, although I know I'm part Dutch, German, Scotts-Irish, Englsh, etc. I am happy to be those things. However, I don't really think there's anything I can say besides that. I am proud to be a human being. In terms of ethnicity, nationality, race, etc. They don't matter to me so much as the person I am. They may factor in to who I am but they don't control me or determine my identity.
No
I am from Denmark and while I think it's a great country, the fact is that I have had nothing to do with any of the things that are the reasons I think it's a great country.
I have never understood how you can be proud of something that you have had no effect on...
Like you can be proud of your kids because you raised them and helped shaped them... That I can understand because their achievements could be due to how you raised them... But maybe I am misunderstanding the meaning of the word "proud".Of course I'm proud of my ethnicity Turkish but I was born in the U. K which I'm also proud to be a British citizen. The Turkish language came from Central Asia and it spread to the Middle East. The Turks admired the religion of Islam coming from Arabia and admired the Persian language and culture. The arabs and Persians admired the Turks of their leadership skills and horse riding skills and as a result Turks were taken as slaves. In medieval times, there was Turks who ruled Egypt, Syria, Iraq and Iran.
I have very proud of my background, I am Puerto Rican and Jamaican, on my Puerto Rican side my racial background is Native, with some white and Asian. My Jamaican background is mostly black with some white and Indian. I am proud of being a biracial person, I think my ethnic background attributes to my beauty and I love when people try to figure out what I am. If you analyze my face you can see bits and pieces of each race that I am and I think that is so beautiful.
I'm basically a little white mutt for the most part. Italian, Irish, Scottish, Scandinavian, English, but also some Spanish, Native American, and possibly some African since apparently it was once common for Southern Italians to do that or so I am told. I don't pretend to know everything though.
Honestly, I feel no real connection to my heritage. The only label that matters to me in this context is that I am American. I love my country, even if I am insanely worried about it's future.
At the end of the day, despite its flaws, this is my home. I won't let go of my home no matter what. I'd rather fight for it, no matter how exhausting it is. I want to make it a better place because for better or worse, this is my country, my home, and these are the people I care about.I'm a white dude... we've copied and outshined the best of the best from other groups time and time again. We've been consistent inventors. We're not the most intelligent, but still, the Asians took the walkman and made it better after it was already invented to begin with. I see this group as the group that makes things come from nothing.
But I have beef with this group I identify with. For one, lately, they are nothing but suck ups instead of being superior to inferiors. It's like they got bashed on so much about thinking they're better than others simply off their skin color that now they feel guilty and want to be inferior.
Honestly... my race is trying to eliminate themselves. I married, had kids, but went with Asian... reasoning... more intelligent, women are more effeminate, not as ghetto, and all = better for my kids.I love being black, but personally not proud because I haven't done anything for my people. I never volunteer, donate, protest, or stand up to make any type of positive change, so I think pride should be reserved for people who are actively serving their communities and backing up their pride with actions.
I am honestly very proud of my nationality yes. I am white and have some middle eastern heritage. Russian German and Lebanese. And born and raised in Russia even though Germany and Russia have a very dark history I love the perseverance both have. So yes I am very proud of my everything!
I had my DNA through ancestry. I was told at a young age that I was of Irish, German, Native American and Spanish descent however, ancestry DNA gave me a more "in depth" description of my ancestry. Turns out my bloodline was linked predominantly to Viking and Celt genes with small percentages of Iberian, Middle Eastern, Native American, African and Slavic heritage. I wouldn't necessarily say I was proud of my ancestry because I have no control over it but I definitely think it's a pretty cool mixture 😊

I'm neither proud or ashamed of my race or ethnicity. I just am who I am, I guess, haha. My ethnicity is Russian, with a smattering of other Slavic nations in there. One day I'm going to order one of those DNA tests to see exactly which regions of Russia and Europe in general are in my ancestry.
Yes absolutely, Im 100% Indian. The other people in my country are a bit questionable, being that theyre pretty creepy and mal-adjusted, but I was born here so I consider myself pretty normal. But Im still proud to be of the Indian heritage and Culture, especially here in America where its a pretty cool and unique thing.
I am :) I'm indo- Guyanese, my ancestry lies in northern Indian specifically Uttar Pradesh. I'm also Iberian , I have traces of it in my bloodline along with some other parts of Caucasian blood. Either way my family ended up in South America and eventually NY. I'm really proud of who I am :)
I could see Mexican ancestry showing up as native American and European (Aztec and spanish). I'm proud of who I am. I don't really care about ethnicity, nationality or race. None of us had a say in the circumstances of our birth. I do enjoy different cultures and customs. They can be a lot of fun.
I really don't know what I am. We usually just say Eastern European. I apparently have German, Polish, Czechoslovakian, Russian, and possibly Hungarian blood in me. But frankly I'm American and that's just what I am. The blood of the old world has been washed out. I'm the 3rd generation to be born in America, we are Americans. Now am I proud to be an American? Well it's hard to be proud of the shit America does and has done.
Yes! My ancestors are proud Muslim-killers, Spaniards and Poles, who waged hard war to kick out the Muhammaden invaders from Eastern and Southern Europe.
I'm also proud of my Mayan and Aztec (Mexica) ancestors, whom built great empires, pyramids, fought fiercely against the Spaniards, and charted the stars from Mesoamerica. No I don't care where my ancestors were from. They have no effect on who I am as a person.
I find it kind of silly that people have nothing to do with a culture associate with them.
If I a recessive trait such as blue eyes in my genes and a dominant trait for brown eyes. And my actual eye color is brown would anyone say I'm proud of my blue eyed genes. It's essentially very similar when you're 8% black. That's so far back that it's barely even a part of you.
