324 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Are there not still gentlemen's clubs out there? Some proprietors choose a certain type of clientele and that's their business - literally. Don't like it, don't go there. Like, it? Go there if you so choose. Simple.
This is about as ridiculous as adults complaining if they can't play on kiddie rides at establishments designed for children. Or minors who complain that they have no plans to drink, still aren't allowed in pubs. It's stupid. People make rules about who they do and don't want as clientele and it's usually understood. Ever since women make up women's hour or women's only places, men are going bananas over it, and I don't get it. Chrissakes there used to be a time when practically every public place was for men only but no one seems to talk about how that made women feel.
Don't like it, just don't go there. If she loses her business, then maybe she'll decide to venture in to something else to make a living if it fails. Until then, if it works and she and her clients enjoy a female-only-encouraged environment, big deal. If you hate women, that would be an ideal place not to go anyway, right?30 Reply

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yi am a girl and my brother who is very dominate at all times thinks feminist is stupid, which i tend to agree. before people start yelling let me explain... there are many feminist who obviously want women to be equal to men, yet they still think guys should do all the gross and dirty work. And they still believe guys should be the one to call them first! if you believe in equality then you would know that guys are just as afraid to talk to us as we are to talk to them, so thats why if there is i guy i find attractive i will ask him to hang because if i want something i go for it. Another example is in the work force, i clean tables at my restaurant and do not get me wrong when its the end of the night and I'm tired i love when my male co workers take my bucket for me (literally they steal it from me b/c i don't want them to do my work) because its "too heavy", but for the most part i carry my heavy ass bucket on my own, and because i filled it, i carry it, thats my motto. Anyway my point is if your going to be a feminist be a fucking feminist don't half do that shit.

feminism is about equality, RADICAL feminism is about dominance and control. Should you judge the entire Islam religion because of radical Islamic terrorists? no. That doesn't represent the movements goals or beliefs, it just gets more press coverage therefore you see it more. (note: I know that the way people treat feminists is not on the same level as people treat Islamic people, it was just the best comparison I could think of

Islam is a trash religion though, it opresses women.
if Muslims believe female opression is correct, then they are trash people.
I really dont get why feminists defend islam when its supposed to be their worst enemy, but i guess there is no cure for stupidity. - +1 y
personally i believe feminism as a whole is no lomger aboit equality. As it is in definition a movement for equality on the basis of womens rights. Which i believe genders are already generally equal both with their own issues, so if feminism only tackles womens issues then it imbalances equality if that makes sense?
if people are truly for equality then i prefer the term egalitarian. - +1 y

@YHL6965 I do not beleive that men and women have equal rights. I also do not beleive that the entire male gender should pay for that. I agree that true equality is unattainable, and i wouldn't want it to be. Men and women have their own unique tendencies and ways of thinking, but I agree with feminism in that people should be able to choose who they want to be. I think a housewife who does chores and takes care of her children every day is no worse than a woman bodybuilder.
- +1 y
my reply continued: I beleive that women (and men) should be able to choose their own lives without being told they can't because of their gender. I dont think that feminism is a lost cause, I just think that people should listen to the intellectual arguments and not the hysterical emotional ones, and that feminists should calmly explain their points rather than yelling at people to beleive the. . I don't think that that makes me an idiot. If anything, i feel like people who say all feminists are idiots are uneducated about the movement and their arguments are inherently flawed because they are allowing an unbridled amount of bias. Thank you if you read this far and please private message me if you would like to discuss this further.

If you think feminism is about equality, try disagreeing with one.
Feminism's core has been in male hate and oppression. It's most famous voices have been man haters. These haters are the most quoted and studied.
Massive organizations like NOW and the female UN have pushed lies and false victimhood. They have actually prevented males from getting equal custody rights and other things.
These are NOT the "radical" feminist... these are the core feminist.
But feminist like yourself will never admit to these things because you benefit from them, you hide behind the scapegoat of "radical feminist do it" while the whole time you idolize the haters like Steinem and Greer. You benefit from the endless women only priviledges, without ever suggesting they are wrong. You push the lies and false victimhood by using 3rd world women as your crutch because you don't actually have any real oppression in western society and crap like wage gap is to easily proven false.

@LogicBomber I don't hate men and I'm a feminist. The reason the most popular "feminists" are man haters is because American society feeds off of drama and scandal even when they have no place within the subject matter. Nobody wants to watch someone be calm and rational when they can watch someone yelling things they have strong reactions to (whether positive or negative.) I never said feminism didn't have flaws. Many "feminists" do hate men and dont fight for equality, but I think it is very ignorant of you to assume that because someone says "im a feminist" they are men-haters who want to run a female dominated society and use men just for breeding. I beleive that you do have some logical points and when i have time i will check out that doccumentary, but i would like to suggest that in the future people might take your arguments more seriously if you didn't attack people while explaining your point.
- +1 y
@LogicBomber When people feel attacked or like they are the subject of hostility they automatically go on the defensive and dont listen to anything you have to say. I feel like you are someone who honestly wants to express their opinions instead of wanting to stir the pot and watch the comments so i thought i would try to help. Im sorry if i am coming off as hostile and i am not intending to but making assumptions about my character and suggesting i am a coward that idolizes people i actually stongly dislike and using Caps Lock at me isn't going to help me understand your point, it just makes me want to ignore you and it invalidates all of the logic in your argument. thank you

How unique! Someone thinks their inappropriate behavior is justified. Slave owners also had a "justification" for their behavior.
If any public facility charged women an 18% surcharge because of their sex, these "women" would undoubtedly protest OR simply burn the place to the ground.

That's because that tax is usually charged on female products. For example shampoo for women is always more expensive than the one for men. So they wanna show men how it feels for women. This tax should be split equally but it always goes on female stuff.
434 Reply- +1 y
It's more expensive because women are willing to pay more for those things and companies profit from it. Women's razors back in the 50's used to be so small you needed special tweezers to hold the blade because it was more "feminine". It took hours for women to shave, you'd think if women went out and just bought men's products instead companies would reduce the production of objects meant for women instead of complaining about it to random men who did nothing to contribute to it.

This whole thing is actually very simple. Anyone who advocates capitalism and argues that the higher tax for female products isn't a problem (for whatever reason) shouldn't be bothered by the café tax either, for the same reason. Nobody forces men to visit that particular coffee shop, just like nobody forces women to buy a particular product.
And I agree with @Sonjita that it's wrong either way. Just because I can buy a different beauty product or drink my hot coco in a different coffee shop doesn't make the higher prices fair. I only buy organic meat because I don't want antibiotics in my meat. But I still don't find it fair that I have to pay more money just to save my body from an immunal resistance against antibiotics. - +1 y
You go to a store and are choosing to buy soda.
Your options are as follows-
12 oz
20 oz
1 liter
2 liter
3 liter
Can you guess which costs less individually?
In one area that I lived, a 2 liter was.99 while a 3 liter was 1.50. They carried 1 liters but for only.85. Can you guess why that is while a 12 oz or 20 oz would cost nearly 2$ or more?
people are more inclined to purchase the smaller item due to that's all they need for the day.
So, the more they buy of it, the higher it will cost. Of course, it's soda so it has a cap. God forbid it ever reaches 10...
So do you get where I'm going with this?
Also, I noticed you complaining about a tax. Did you know each state has its own state tax that people have to pay when making a purchase?
For instance, I live in Texas so if I buy something for.99 it's only going to cost me.08 extra. If I buy something at 800$ then to find out my total, I would multiply 800 x.08 to find out what my final sale price is. - +1 y
Higher demand = Higher price for profit. Lower demand = Lower price to sell. Majority of women buy those beauty products and shavers feminist talk about equalling higher demand than the minority of men who buy shavers and beauty products 'for men'. Pretty simple stuff... About that being wrong? How? It's your own damn choice to buy or not. If you buy you're pretty much "working for them". Companies want money pretty easy to figure that out no one wants to go bankrupt, and they would if possible get as much profit as possible. People are greedy.
- +1 y
i am always confused about this. especially that the razor example keeps popping up.
In germany female razors are cheaper. My uncle always buys pink female razors because he claims they are the same quality, just pink and cheaper.
but there you have it. if its the opposite in the US, buy the male ones. it isn't even socially stigmatized for girls using/buying mens stuff like the other way around. - +1 y
Because the beauty and fashion industry target is mostly women! Duh! They try to get us to spend as much as possible all the freaking time. Whats funny is that women WILLINGLY by these products even if they know its high priced when they have other options that are cheaper.

+1 yWhat?
So one individual place with one individual owner is now a poster place for ALL feminists?
Since when?
I've never heard about this... but everyone can do what they want in their own personal legal business... And obviously it's legal if they haven't been sanctioned or closed...
Just like cake bakeries can literally refuse service to gay couples getting married. And this is far less extremist than this.
They could've just refused service all together...49 Reply- +1 y
last time I knew the bakery got sued and went bankrupt after the lawsuit because it refused to make a cake for them like I know a Christian dating website got sued to because it was anti gay and is now forced to allow gays on it. So how is any of this not a double standard the feminist so far is allowed to this and non of the others how is that equality to allow one and not the other? Yeah you know equality the thing feminists say they are fighting for... by the way wage gap myth is a myth and been proven wrong so many times
- +1 y
@thedude91 Yeah, that's because they didn't advertise as that kind of a bakery...
If they did - they couldn't get sued...
I'd do my research, buddy... - +1 y
Yes, do you understand thedude? Because if that bakery was shouting out loud "We don't make cakes for gay couples!" no one would have sued them and no one would call them homophobes and no one would threaten them and they never would have lost their business. But of course all of this is not extrem at all for Mrs. Social Justice Warrior. As it is not that muslims openly call for execution of gay people and do so in the middle east because muslims are one of her social justice fronts.
- +1 y
@TheFlak38 Yeah, but legally they have to advertise exactly who they are and whom they serve otherwise they can't just make up rules as they go along - this is why those places are getting sued...
While, as I understand, this cafe did it all legally and it's all on paper, so they are what they claim to be, legally, and can't get sued for it - because it's protected by law.
- +1 y
@TheFlak38 Oh honey... no they can't...
If they could, that would be legal.
Bars have signs they can reserve the right to refuse service to anyone... Bakeries and coffee places don't...
Study some... it'll help you in the long run... - +1 y
The bakery was unjustly sued by hypocritical homosexuals. Just like the farmer who was sued for refusing to allow a gay couple to marry on his property. We live in a society now where if you're against allowing homosexuals do anything, regardless if it has anything to do with it or not, you'll be sued and labeled as a homophobe but the LGBT community.

@flowdab15 Don't waste your energy. You're dealing with a social justice feminist brain polluted biological ruin. All of a sudden she cares about the law and how much people follow it by the book or not. Our countries are being invaded daily by thousands or afroarabs who break the law only by tresspassing our borders, they murder and rape specifically European women in race hate crimes and the judges give them a few months social service because "rape is part of their culture". But Little Sally doesn't care about this injustice. Why would she point fingers to her "oppressed children"?
When someone is so dumb to support the "anti-me" and hate everything about Western Civilisation then trying to find excuses to justify this self-loathing attitude is the easiest thing in the world.
to people following @BellePepper, she seems to be using me as some of her argument which i'm against as she has blocked me so i can't reply in self defence:

+1 yThis is Affirmative Action, taken to the Nth degree. "Because there is a pay disparity (read oppression) somewhere that affects some people somehow, we made a cafe that counters it by doing the exact opposite to balance the scale".
This entire business strategy is agenda-driven in the absolute worst way possible and will come to be known as the poster child for "This is why feminism is cancer". I mean, if/when her business goes under, who is she going to blame the failure on: men for not being more subordinate than they already are or women for "not knowing better". Because it will be a hot day in the 9th circle of Hell when this radfem realizes she is her own worst enemy and gains some self-awareness.10 ReplySo let me get this straight: after men are charged an 18% tax because in 2016 women earned less than men (because they worked fewer hours), women still have "priority seating"? very true. I just can't believe how people aren't able to realize this. -they say women's products cost more (true most of the time) but if you don't want to pay more, buy men's products. I know I'm not gonna pay the 18 percent when I can get something different for less.
We feminists call people like her a lier because if she was truly a feminist she wouldn't charge extra for men... I hope this post opens some womens eyes and make them understand that men also have it rough in this world. Yes sure women have periods, have to bare children, sometimes get raped and cat calling but if a woman ever claims a man raped her even though he didn't his life is 100% over because no one wants to hire or date a possible rapist. Think of feminism like star wars... there's a light and dark side and this woman is on the dark side while people that want equality like me are on the light side. @madhatters4 I do not care. I think it's still very stupid and hardly progressive in nature.
Here's a social issue with our gender so let's mockingly (faux or nay) punish the other gender to make a point.
"Progressive." - +1 y
i don't think they are mocking it. i think they are asking patrons to consider essentially little steps of activism. you know what i mean?
they've said people have come from other towns just to donate. i don't think their goal is to mock but simply try to create awareness which it has as they are getting international news... blame on it anti-feminists who present it as some sort of slap no men as opposed to a gimmick to raise awareness. similar to the drug store in NYC which jokingly said it was going to have a man tax in response to taxes on female incontinence items - +1 y
@madhatters4 The thing is, the pay gap does not even exist. If you look at the age range of 20-30, women do actually earn more. It's just that because many have kids and switch to part time etc, they then do earn less on average. You work less hours, you get less money.
Even if you argue that women should be reimbursed for raising kids, it would not change those statistics as they only look at money earned at a job, not hypothetical financial benefits by the state.
So even your apologetics don't make sense. - +1 y
you've just made my day

@MarcoIsAFailure the australian government seems to think there is based on the articles i've seen. i don't know enough about australia's social situation to say one way or another but because the wage gap has been disproven in one place doesn't mean it's not an issue in other places
- +1 y
@madhatters4 It has been disproven about everywhere in the west for the same reasons in every country.
Doesen't prevent governments from act like its true tho. Merkel does that too.
- +1 y
@MarcoIsAFailure the west is a massive place with sovereign nations with differnt policies. justbecause it's disproven in germany or the USA doesn't mean it's not an issue in other western countries. we simply can't make blanket statements to that effect. so as in any case you have to look to the studies (the summary of the research is on page 57)
www.wgea.gov.au/.../...nsights%202017%20Report.pdf
again i don't know if it is a legit issue in australia but it not being a legit issue in one country doesn't mean it's not an issue in another country - +1 y
@madhatters4 Where I've been lost in this whole gender pay gap issue is that no one has shown me that it is specifically because the parties are female. There always seems to be an essence of questions left unanswered such as previous experience, how much the individual contributes to the company, etc. I've read plethoras of studies that are for it and against it, and I am still left wondering if this actually exists. I'm not saying this out of ignorance but actual curiosity.
- +1 y
@madhatters4 You kinda can tho, because all those studies (which are just statistics) suffer from the same exact same issues.
When it comes to australia, I actually know for certain, that it has been debunked numerous times. Did not look into it myself, because I do not live there, but it is considered being just as debunked as everywhere else.
- +1 y
@RJGraveyTrain
This. Exactly. Women just tend to happen to make different choices as INDIVIDUALS. - +1 y
Also there was one german newspaper you actually did the math and did at least adjust for part time labour and stuff like that, but not qualification, area of expertise, education etc. Even so, the gap has already been down to about 4% from 13%.
- +1 y
@MarcoIsAFailure do you have evidence of the issue being debunked in australia? look i don't necessarily think the wage gap exists i just don't think we can say without evidence that it doesn't exist. and because we can question studies doesn't mean that there still isn't an issue.
i just suggest that saying "it doesn't exist in the west" is an impossible statement as different nations have different policies. what is in germany or the USA may not be applicable in portugal, austria, etc. so if you show me some evidence that it isn't a matter in australia then i'll certainly be open to considering it - +1 y
@RJGraveyTrain
www.heise.de/.../...rd-zehn-Jahre-alt-3652060.html
in case you dont mind Google translate. its actually a leftist news hub, so they dont just say "doesnt exist. duh" and funnily enough tries to explain in the end why it is still a problem even tho it doesn't exist - +1 y
why would you even consider a concept which has been debunked so often to be true in other places? You don't have to debunk the same bogus claim over and over again, just bc someone puts a spin on it.
but yeah, I've read both articles about it and watched a video which disected the claim and showed that it has the same faults as e. g. in the USA.
you can Google that yourself tho.
i only happened to have that german link on me, because somebody once sent it to me via telegram IM. - +1 y
@MarcoIsAFailure it seems to suggest that a conclusive result is difficult to gauge. which is similar to issues in the US. that statistically speaking you may see a gap but in application there are a lot of social issues that factor in (as in the USA where women going on maternity leave is a major factor to concider for the existence of gaps).
but this article refers only to germany, the EU and policies and studies within it.
as i believe RJ knows i consider myself a feminist but more importantly a realist. i have no interest in falsely perpetuated gender issues. so i am very open to being show that a wage gap in australia is b. s. i just don't know and haven't seen anything to say it isn't a legitimate issue - +1 y
@madhatters4 You are correct in that assumption sir.
- +1 y
the deal with the wage gap is, it is used to imply that women earn less for equal work.
but this is not the case and even if it were, you could not prove that by something like this, as it is just a statistical difference agnostic of life choices.
Its the age old equal opportunity vs equal outcome thing.
if you want to claim there might be a place in the west, where women are not paid based on their merit and free market value, it would be on you to provide evidence.
You can't proof that something is not the case. I can't proof there is no pink unicorn behind you.
Don't look for a proof that it isn't true, look for a proof that it is and you won't find one.
but to be honest, it doesn't matter even if it were. does not make it any less bullshit in germany, the USA, Canada, the UK...
so I do regard it as valueless anyway to this debate. - +1 y
also while I won't label myself a feminist because of the bad rep, I do certainly care for womens issues. but its just counter-productive.
paying women less because of their gender is illegal in all those places.
if you actually want equality of outcome, and it is up for debate if you should, there are much more productive ways.
Most of the gap is because of child care. wouldn't it be more productive to propose some kind of "mothers pension" etc, instead of just complaining about some bogus like the patriarchy weighing women down in a sneaky way?
to me that is no different to the alt right constantly whining about the Jews controlling everything. - +1 y
@madhatters4 So then you charge taxes in western countries that do have a wage gap not in America. Your logic is still flawed and last time I checked taxes are never a charity.

You really should learn how capitalism works, then MAYBE you'd learn why your products are as costly. Nothing to do with gender, aside the fact the product is for a female.
I can go into any job and start at the bottom. A female can, too. Guess what? They all start at the same pay grade. HOWEVER, if I go into a job where I have more experience, I expect a higher pay than someone with little to no experience. - +1 y
@flowdab15 First of all if you spam my alerts again, I'm blocking you. You have 1000 characters. Use them.
Oh my god I LOVE when silly little boys try to say they're right when they're obviously wrong. It is the BEST thing to watch. www.compelo.com/.../holiday-pink-tax.jpg www.buzzfeed.com/.../fuck-the-womens-tax
Do you have an issue where you can't understand what the word SAME means?
Bro let me help you out with you "women get hired over men" bullshit right now. The last guy who went public with his stupid ideas got FIRED he was so wrong. Do you want to follow in his footsteps? - +1 y
And here we have a 25 year old man telling me to kill myself because I linked him to articles about the pink tax.
That *definitely* proved women don't face discrimination. Good job boys. media.giphy.com/media/cYYx0b3DcYwOA/giphy.gif - +1 y
you got angry because he used 2 comments to reply to you? we can see who the immature one is. The gender pay gap has been debunked many many times so how anyone can still use that is beyond me. In fact in my old job there was 2 of us with the same job, me and a woman and she got paid more than me just because she was a woman... companies are scared of feminazis and sexism these days.
Females 100% get hired over men now just because they are female and companies need to look diverse, again because if they don't feminazis will go after them even if the better option was a male candidate. (this is the same with different races also, companies need to fill a quota). - +1 y
i do have to note, if you have a general population stupid enough to pay more for the same object, just because its pink... thats not a female tax, thats clever marketing from the company selling the razers.
im also noting the other guy commenting here is a total twat. - +1 y
@DamonGill has a point though, buzzfeed isn't really known for doing their research, but they are a feminist news outlet, so its kind of expected.
- +1 y
@chimchilla We can go down to walmart. com and see that women's products are more expensive right now. That's not "feminist reporting" that's FACTUAL. It is a FACT that women's products cost more.
And yes it absolutely is a tax because if you don't want your legs and arm pits smelling like pepper and musk you have to pay women's prices. - +1 y
so basically it is yourself who is the problem as you are unprepared to pay the cheaper prices. It's the reason the few mens products are cheaper. cause men refuse to pay that amount, we'd take cheaper options any day.
Again that is the free will of companies hitting their market to gain profit, in this picture the cafe is just doing it to be sexist (not to make profit but to spite men).
Also i notice you said nothing about my sports equipment example? i guess you only shout feminism when it's all about yourself. how self-centred of you. - +1 y
oh wait that's my bad, i put that on a different comment, don't i look silly 😂 but yeah - in sports equipment, male quipment tends to cost more in male led sports because that's their market... anything to say about that? for an example, my gear cost me near £500 whereas in the womens team they spent £50 max.
- +1 y
@DamonGill I am going to tell you exactly what I told that last boy. You have 1000 characters. Use them.
But men can just choose not to go there. It's the cafe's right to use that marketing. If there's no problem when Schick does it why is it a problem when the cafe does it?
Kind of makes it look like you don't listen to women when you do that kind of thing. Which ends up making me look super right.
Well, lets look at it together. Pull up the amazon links. - +1 y
@BellePepper you are extremely sad you can't physically cope with receiving two messages at a time, is their an issue with processing more than 1 message? you are just clutching at straw here, i sent the second message after the first cause i realised i put something wrong to correct it. geez, the world will end if you happen to send 2 messages in a row 😱
men will choose not to go there don't worry, cause we aren't morons and won't pay extra for the same thing. The fact that this is sexist because the cafe does it to spite men as i mentioned earlier (if you bothered to even read that part), whereas the beauty product companies do it to gain more profit. You can't tell me this cafe gains more profit out of that - if anything they lose customers due to that sign, its bad marketing.
oh dear... it doesn't make you look super rigjt at all. it makes you loom incredibly wrong! - +1 y
@DamonGill What's this? Only one message? I *knew* you could do it.
Clearly it's an annoyance since I told the other boy off about it didn't I? Do you always have issues respecting women?
Well I think Schick does it to spite women. Why is it that I should just deal with my issues but yours are discrimination?
Yeah I am being proven right. Because you're spelling out your exact double standard. But don't let me stop you. Keep doing my work for me :) - +1 y
I have given you many examples you choose to ignore cause your feminazi mind doesn't allow reason to get through does it? bless you, ya poor soul.
ooh that was 2 messages, she's gonna be mad now! but hey thats over 1000 characters, whats her reasoning gonna be now i wonder? all of your messages are an annoyance to me by the way so i wonder if you'll respect me. - +1 y
@DamonGill And here's another boy calling names and being rude when presented with basic facts. But women aren't discriminated against.
- +1 y
oh yes because your constant patronising is so much better. get off your high horse and see you are wrong. you have been rude this whole thread so if you give it you can take it. there's a reason you are getting so many downvotes, by men and women alike. wake up and smell the salt.
- +1 y
@DamonGill Oh you mean like the downvote from the boy who wants me to kill myself because women's products cost more? Great argument.
Try again. - +1 y
@DamonGill I warned you bro.
- +1 y
@BellePepper the problem with reading so much buzzfeed or surrounding yourself with feminists is that you live inside a bubble of people who agree with you, it totally screws your view of reality.
this is why so many people disagree with your views.
its the same thing with religion, if everybody around you agrees that there is a god, then the possibility that you will believe in something with no evidence backing it is much higher. - +1 y
razors cost more because of whats in them and because your razors give a closer shave. for haircuts you can go to the same place where guys get three cheap 12$ haircut (the barber) they cost just as much as you when you go to a hair salon. also they count the price of the product you get in your hair. perfum costs more than cologne simply because you use more. it's simple supply and demand. the higher the demand the higher the price. word of the day "voluntary ignorance"
- +1 y
@BellePepper I love how you are going off about female products being more expensive. They are but did you know that you don't have to use it? Mind blowing isn't it? If it's so damn "unfair" to you then go buy male razors. Stop bitching over nothing.
- +1 y
@ciitruskiwi I already said why **I** specifically cannot use them. And then I asked why when WOMEN are overcharged for something it's women's fault and we need to shop better but when MEN are overcharged for something it's discrimination.
Can you answer that for me? - +1 y
@MountianMan Women's razors don't cost more because they're better. They're usually worse but women are told "this is what you should use" and they cost more.
Why is it that when women are charged more it's ignorance but when men are charged more it's spite and discrimination? - +1 y
@404filenotfound oh look another boys calling me names right off the bat for talking about women's everyday reality. But women aren't discriminated against.
- +1 y
@BellePepper you are getting your panties in a knot over nothing. You can't use male razors then boo fucking hoo. That's too bad for you but you don't have to get your panties in a knot. And I have NEVER heard of a man or anyone complaining that it is "discrimination" when they pay more than women for something. Calm your tits woman. There are worst things in this world than women paying a few dollars more.
- +1 y
@Decentguy Oh I'm sorry. Does all this talk about women's lives and experiences upset you? I wish I could just say "that's enough discrimination for today" and walk away.
- +1 y
it's not though. the ignorance is is placed on both sides. we just don't have idiots saying that we are being discriminated against.
- +1 y
@MountianMan More name calling. That definitely takes a stance doesn't it.
- +1 y
I wasn't saying that you're making yourself look stupid because you're a woman, I was saying that you're making yourself look stupid because I read through the entirety of your little diatribe and realized that you didn't submit a single logical thought. I was honestly trying to help you out, you know maybe if you stop being so emotional, you'll contribute something rational to the discussion?
But instead, you've completely ignored everything that I said, decided to forgoe logic in it's entirety and make my statement a discriminatory one because you can't actually contribute anything reasonable or offer a logical response to anything that I've said.
Say what you want to now, but I honestly think that you should go through all of this later when you're calm, read through everything and ask yourself if maybe you think that you were being unreasonable. Face yourself and ask the hard questions. You don't have to share the results with me but it might do you good. - +1 y
there you go thinking you are the center of the world. I said "we" don't have idiots saying things like that. meaning any guy that says something like this is just an idiot. I never called you an idiot.
- +1 y
@ciitruskiwi They are literally crying about discrimination in this post right now. The question itself is even crying discrimination.
One of the boys above you was claiming fitness companies discriminated against men by overpricing male fitness equipment but then when I asked him to pull up the links so we could look at it together he decided to start calling me a feminazi and going off on me.
And those panties I supposedly have in a knot? THOSE are more expensive too even though men's underwear use more fabric!
It's not a few dollars. It adds up to women paying thousands and thousands of dollars more a year before we start looking at specialty products like tampons, makeup, and accessories. - +1 y
like I said. voluntary ignorance.
- +1 y
@MountianMan And what is your voluntary name calling? Why is it that you can call people names but you can't answer why when women have to pay more it's ignorant but when men have to pay more it's discrimination?
- +1 y
@BellePepper Now you are going off about our panties being too expensive. Is there anything you DON'T bitch about? Don't wear panties if they are too "expensive" for you. Don't buy tampons, makeup or accessories. No one is making you buy any of those things. You are more than free to not buy them if it pisses you off so much.
- +1 y
@ciitruskiwi Well, I tell you what. Since you apparently have thousands of dollars a year to waste why don't you just send it to me instead :)
- +1 y
@BellePepper needless to say, nobody agrees with your twisted world view.
- +1 y
@chimchilla Needless to say sexism is alive an well
- +1 y
true. well I think a debate should be about listening to ALL the facts and fact checking them on reliable sites. not evading certain questions just to prolong the idea that you are rite. just check the facts on what US guys are saying
- +1 y
@BellePepper i shared that gif, because you guys are fighting, thats all, lol
- +1 y
@BellePepper I don't have thousands of dollars but I don't buy what I don't need. I haven't bought makeup in years because I barely wear makeup. I don't buy accessories or panties very often so I don't complain about it.
- +1 y
@MountianMan One of my sources is from the UK specifically to demonstrate that the pink tax doesn't just affect women. It was even a picture so you didn't even have to read.
- +1 y
@ciitruskiwi Even women's clothing and shoes cost more than men's. If you don't have a problem with this type of pricing clearly you're okay with having to spend more money.
- +1 y
do you work bellepepper?
- +1 y
@BellePepper like I said I don't buy what I don't need meaning I don't go shopping very often so no I don't complain about it.
- +1 y
@ciitruskiwi Apparently, she doesn't want to get it. It's been explained to her numerous times, but she's keeps persisting and blaming everyone else. Hell, I was trying to be nice and tell her that no one was going to take her seriously if she keeps acting irrationally and, to her, she was "being attacked by another boy".
People like her lack self awareness and they don't care about the truth or hearing other people's opinions, they want people to feel sorry for them and tell them that they're victims. - +1 y
@404filenotfound pretty much. Just because I don't complain about it doesn't mean I'm rich but apparently she thinks it does lol
- +1 y
@ciitruskiwi But you're clearly okay with paying all this extra money so you must have some rolling around. Instead of sending it Schick and JC Penny or whatever why not send it to me?
- +1 y
@BellePepper I am still in college and struggle to pay bills and student loans some months so trust me no I am not rolling in money. I don't know how many times I have to repeat myself but like I said twice before, I don't buy what I don't need. I couldn't tell you the last time I went shopping for makeup, accessories, clothes, etc because it's been so long.
- +1 y
@ciitruskiwi So you're short on money but still don't mind having to pay extra
+1 yI hate people who hide behind the word feminist just so they can discriminate
81 ReplyI watched a television news report about this cafe.
The owner was an obvious Feminist loon.
I would not be surprised if she had a Gender Studies degree, from a nest of Communists such as Monash University, or La Trobe University, both of which are in Melbourne.
The women who were interviewed, who were presented in a way that inferred that they were patrons who were selected randomly, were obviously waitresses and did not have two IQ points to rub together.
The only men who would enter that establishment would be skinny-pant-wearing manginas, who were card-carrying social justice warriors.
From the point of view of a man, this cafe is a wonderful idea because (a) it is more evidence that Feminists are insane and that their position is at odds with the facts; and (b) if the Feminists can be concentrated in that cafe men in the vicinity can go somewhere else and be less likely to have the local versions of Big Red and the Hogbeast in their faces.10 Reply
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yIt used to be. Now, many are rabid man-haters. It started as a movement for women to achieve equality to a man, but they kept trying to tip the scales past the balance point.
140 ReplyIf it is a violation of the law, then the ACLU should file a lawsuit,, otherwise there is nothing else you can do other than go somewhere else.
The business owner may end up doing 18% less volume than she could if she didn't put on that tax, as I'm sure a lot of men will avoid that place.
Maybe a guy trying to make their girlfriend happy or seeing if he can pick up a couple of lonely girls, then the 18% tax would be worth it.10 Reply
+1 yI understand the point she is trying to make, but I don't think it's any way to run a business, I may not like some of the customers that come into the store I work in, but I at least treat them all fairly. Equality does not come from putting others down but instead by bringing others up.

I assume it’s an entity name, not name of some person, since I don’t see initial letter being capital, but I see you are capable to use them (which, sadly, Isn’t just common thing). - +1 y

@witherwing Oh. That's…awesome. :-) I must read them then. :-D
Feminism is just another way to be oppressive towards men. I respect all women because a woman is a mother and gives birth but I do not respect an organization that tries to oppress men. Two wrongs don't make a right. If you want true equality look into humanitarianism and communism. However keep in mind that humans are naturally greedy and vicious so equality can only go so far. I bet if this world was run by women then women would find a way to abuse men like men did to them long ago and still do.
00 Reply305 opinions shared on Society & Politics topic. Feminism is no longer about equality, though it began that way. Feminism is really driven by lesbians who resent men in general. A lot of this resentment is sexual in nature. A lot of more butch lesbians see men as competition , and many of them wish they had masculine characteristics. They don't, obviously, and they resent seeing men who are what they wish they could be--big, strong, dominant, and intimidating. That's why you see butch lesbians copping masculine gestures and trying to act stereotypically male.

+1 yFeminism is not about equality like the people state here. Equality is about equality. Feminists are sick in their head. The name itself is already a represantation of a female ideology which includes females dominance over men. Why do they protest against male dominance in Arabian countries? I really want to see feminism in muslim countries. But why is there non? Instead they are active in countries where they are already free.

+1 yEasy solution here. Men don't go to the cafe and she either barely scrapes by or goes out of business. Chances are she did that because she doesn't have male clientele to begin with though. There are some vegans that are male but the number is quite disproportionate it would seem. I imagine this was just an attempt at a marketing ploy but who knows... It would be interesting to see the sales she put up. I'd bet they weren't all that great.

Also I am a feminist and believe its about equality regardless of gender and @KierBear has explained it very well.10 Replyfeminist are wankers!!! i am all up for equality. no difference between male, female, trans! but these feminists take it a step beyond equality, like the have a chip on their shoulder! and do shit like this! they may be a pay gap in the top few percent jobs take it up with them not the general population... Every other male gets the same pay check be it a checkout assistant or a nurse, an accountant or a doctor. so why the duck do they do shit like this? obviously there will be some jobs women are better than males and males are better than women recognise this ducking feminists the population of females wanting to work as logging workers will be far less due to lack of interest... how the duck is that every other males problem? likewise the percentage of female workers in the field of dental hygiene will be higher.!! ducking biased feminists

Anonymous(18-24)+1 yFeminism is not about equality, anyone who says so has misunderstood the concept of feminism, it's about women's rights, if all men had to be whipped for an hour straight every day for being men, someone who only 100% supported feminism and nothing else wouldn't give a damn, one of the leaders of one of the largest feminist youth organization in Norway was in my class at school for the last three years and she herself told us feminism was not about the equality between sexes but the empowerment of women, here is also googles definition of feminism

- +1 y
There is no gap. They didn't even consider full vs part time. Nor do they consider that men do the dangerous shit so duh they make more. If I'm climbing roofs and catching snakes, I better make more than the chick answering phones
- +1 y
The gap is based on overall earnings, not pay for the same work. When you take into account hours worked and the kinds of jobs men and women tend to gravitate towards (which is entirely their choice) there's no pay gap. So basically, men earn more because they work more hours in higher paying fields (which also tend to be more high stress or dangerous, which is why they pay more). My job is pretty dangerous at times, so I get paid quite a bit and I have to work 60-80 hours per week. Another man might work 40 hours for minimum wage. Should I then have to pay more than he does because I work more hours in a harder job? That's basically what you're saying.
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yStupid, but you can say that she is TRYING to fight for equality by addressing what she sees as the gender wage gap. You can think she is wrong about the inequality here, but there is not doubt she is TRYING to fight for equality. Not really. You can't say that women always had equal rights. Only that they had an equal ratio of rights and responsibilities. Women had fewer rights but also fewer (legal) responsibilities.
