Why do people say high school is the happiest time in your life?

Those people who say High School is the happiest time in your life were obviously the ones who never had social problems and were able to enjoy the high school years the most! I can give you some horror stories about what I had to go though, being on my own, unable to make friends, being socially awkward, and even having a popular girl in my class claim I was stalking her to get her boyfriend back who left her for someone who was a slut! Well, he came to her aid to pick fights with me and all I could do was avoid them both while girls sitting around me in any of my classes asked guys to exchange seats because they were scared of me. Yeah, High School was the "happiest time" in MY LIFE! That stalker rumor started my FRESHMEN YEAR and it killed me until the day I graduated...

cause it's the end of long 12 years of school but my High school was
not happy either i got bullied less but still never had no friends i was
a loner who had one friend to hang out wish things could of been
better but i guess things happen and were not to ask questions on
why them happen.

But why do so many teens kill themselves in high school? If high school is the greatest time in everyone's life why are there so many teens killing themselves while attending high school

Because teens are in fragile state and some of them just kills themselve really too soon without putting much thoughts. If only they had the support behind them maybe they've escaped death. I too went through difficult times for 1-2 years in secondary school because I know it's not worth it, and I always throught about my little half siblings, they are the ones who kept me alive because they had no father living with them just like mine. My 3 half siblings happiness depends on me because my mother alone couldn't cope, it wouldn't be fair.

Many teens do not know how to reach out for help and their parents are too self-absorbed to recognize, or too proud to admit, that their child is suffering from depression.

I have no idea why, it was god fkn awful. Best years I had was living on my own, doing what I wanted and having full control of the things around me. School was shit and when you got kids who are picked on and bullied throughout and you tell them this is the best time of their lives, I don't see that helping suicide rates.

Those saying it was the best time of their lives are usually the ones who were popular and got everything handed to them or they simply breezed through because everybody liked them. They complain now about responsibilities and having to work.

I believe that people who say that high school was the happiest time of their life peaked very earlier in life. What I mean by peak is that if high school was the best thing that happened in their life (and keep in mind that they haven't even been on this earth for more than 18 years) then the years that come after highschool will suck because they will always be stuck in the past wishing that they were still in high school

Because the responsibilities of being in high school are insignificant compared to the actual responsibilities of adulthood. And you never have to focus on being an adult when in school, they don't teach it to you. It's so care free of the real world and how things work.

Because for me, I see my friends everyday in my secondary school. It was always fun. I had less responsibility such as money and other things. Now I have to worry about a lot of things because they depend on my future.

It was fun for moi. I was the class clown back then. 94-98. I was called ACE. Jumped on the train by the high school to get to home sometimes. Dangerous but freaking AWESOME!

Because when you reach 25+ and realise you've been out of school for just shy of 10 years... and realise all the responsibilities that it takes to grow up, for instance; a house, a car, work, rent, shopping, cleaning, washing, bills, kids... some people don't appreciate what they have got and would rather be a kid again.

Because you have less stress, comfort from your parents, security from everyone and basically get to enjoy everything. I used to think that way too but when I entered college, I wished I had appreciated high school more.
