      *"What's India's view on women's and LGBTs rights "

It's already mentioned in my About Me Section.

Weakness is what brings ignorance, cheapness, racism, homophobia, desperation, cruelty, brutality, all these things that will keep a society chained to the ground, one foot nailed to the floor.

      *"Do India have a democracy?"

India is a Democratic Republic. So, both. Here is the relevant text of the preamble to the Indian Constitution -

WE, THE PEOPLE OF INDIA, having solemnly resolved to constitute India into a SOVEREIGN SOCIALIST SECULAR DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC and to secure to all its citizens:
      JUSTICE, social, economic and political;
      LIBERTY of thought, expression, belief, faith and worship;
      EQUALITY of status and of opportunity;
and to promote among them all
      FRATERNITY assuring the dignity of the individual and the unity and integrity of the Nation;
IN OUR CONSTITUENT ASSEMBLY this twenty-sixth day of November, 1949, do HEREBY ADOPT, ENACT AND GIVE TO OURSELVES THIS CONSTITUTION.

Democracy means the rule of the majority. Where the government is formed based on the vote of the majority. Free elections are held and whoever gets maximum votes, rules. Simple. There are various forms in this too but I will not go into details.

A democratic republic is a representative government where the power resides with the people. People choose and majority decides.

How big percent do have running water, electricity and Wi-Fi?

Indian power sector is literally opening up now. Everything happens when the country’s ruling political party’s manifesto supports that. The union government’s mission to provide 24X7 power to all by 2019, followed by its all round push in this direction has been a big impetus even among the slow going states in India. Of course, some state governments are also showing very prudent steps in this direction.

There are a few steps taken by indian government to tackle water shortage :-

      1. Government has taken steps towards commissioning desalination plants to meet the needs of people with no access to safe water.
Indian government has built desalination plants that use nuclear and even solar power apart from the conventional fuels.

      2. There has been a large scale promotion of rain water harvesting systems by the government.

      3. The government is trying to find a solution to the longstanding conflict with Pakistan over the 1960 Indus Water Treaty.

And do Indians call India Hindustan?

I’m aware of the Moirish history of India. The Punjabi etc. Moorish Americans appreciate and admire how Many Indian people preserved the culture.

Mahabharata is like game of thrones of old times in india. Not sure if its real or a story. But it is good to watch.

No, after independence muslims wanted separate state assuming that they won't be treated well by majority hindu country. So the partition of pakistan and bangladesh happened. As those were muslim states india was refered as hindustan (hindus place)

Yeah Dude. Most of people don't understand what is Mahabharata. Don't Get Disappointed. The authors of our country had searched the solution.

Devdutt Pattanaik is the author of more than twenty-five books. He also had written more than five hundred articles on Mythology in Modern Times.

      www.girlsaskguys.com/.../a49595-book-review-devlok-with-devdutt-pattanaik

He had explained Mahabharata And Ramayana in detail. If you are REALLY interested in our culture then I would recommend you to read the book. It has SCIENTIFIC PROOFS.

      do Indians call India Hindustan?

Hindustan means the land of the Indus river, the stretches from the Indus river valley and Himalayas up to the Indu Ocean (Anglicized: Indian Ocean). The people were called Indu/Hindu. The religion adopted the name since it originated among those groups. India, Hindustan and Hindu originate from the same word- Indus.

India has thick layers of culture and old teachings. Even for me if i go from one state to another inside india, I'd need some time to get accustomed to that states culture and language. There are so many languages in india. As an average an indian will speak at least 3 languages. Things are pretty chilled out here. Its not what you see in the internet. And yes, we dont shit on streets.

Have you ever worshipped beef with your taste buds?

      My Answer is no.

Telangana has the highest proportion of meat-eaters in the country with almost 99% of its residents being non-vegetarians, a Registrar General of India survey of people aged 15 years and above has revealed. An almost equal percentage of men (98.8) and women (98.6) are non-vegetarians in the state.

West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Kerala follow Telangana among the states with the highest nonvegetarian population. Rajasthan, Punjab, and Haryana top the list of states with the highest vegetarian population. Experts say meat consumption in Telangana reflects traditional eating habits of the state's people. "People in Telangana consume a lot of lamb and chicken even for breakfast,'' said food blogger Sabyasachi Raychaudhuri. "... different body parts of animals such as gurda (kidney), bheja (brain), paya (trotters) among others are consumed.

Beef (cow ) eating in Hindus vary according to the diversity of Hindus in India and according to the region also. While Most upper caste Hindus and OBCs in North India don't eat Cow (beef), many South Indian Hindus eat cow for eg. in Goa, Kerala, TN. Yadavs, an OBC group in north India used to breed cows. Dalits used to eat cow (beef) more so in South India than in North India. There are evidences in Vedic Texts that cow sacrifices and beef eating existed in Vedic Period , but Vedas are NOT the supreme text of Hinduism. In fact, there is NO SINGLE supreme text in Hinduism. Many other Hindu philosophies like Charvaka reject Supremacy of Vedas. After evolution of Buddhism and Jainism in India, the core of Hinduism also changed and the North Indian Hindus considered cow as a sacred animal, more so because of cultural reasons.

In Gujarat, almost equal number of men and women with 39.90% men and 38.20% women concede they are nonvegetarians.

*"Is there as much famine as the world makes out there is? "*

The famine has reduced in India.

Because of green revolution, The introduction of high-yielding varieties of seeds (hybrid seeds) and the increased use of chemical fertilizers and irrigation led to the increase in production needed to make the country self-sufficient in food grains, thus improving agriculture. its a watershed moment after the post independence and after effect was India became the second largest exporter of wheat. It led to an increase in food production in India, especially in Punjab, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh during the early phase. The main development was higher-yielding varieties of wheat, which were developed by many scientists, including American agronomist Norman borlaug, Indian geniticist ms swaminathan and others.

The number of languages spoken in any country is directly dependent the number of people and area of the country. Its believed that every 100 km diameter, you can expect a new dialect and every 300 km diameter, you can expect new language. It one of the reason why India has varied culture. We use different languages to describe WESTERN Cuisine.

As my friend mentioned "*the food that is usually eaten in Britain"*

British cuisine has many regional varieties within the broader categories of English, Scottish and Welsh cuisine. Each has developed its own regional or local dishes, many of which are geographically indicated foods such as Cornish pasties, the Yorkshire pudding, Cumberland Sausage, Arbroath Smokie, and Welsh cakes.

It is all because of bacteria and food borne pathogens: The chemical compounds of spices protect their plants as well as our food from food spoilage microbes and bacteria.

It is genetic and it has become a habit: Our great-grand parents liked the spicy food, then since our childhood our mothers cooked spicy food that we loved, now we crave for the same, and probably our children will too.

Countries with hotter climates used spices more frequently than countries with cooler climates: Indeed, in hot countries like India nearly every meat-based recipe calls for at least one spice, and most include many spices, especially the potent spices, whereas in cooler counties substantial fractions of dishes are prepared without spices, or with just a few.

Thailand, Philippines, India and Malaysia are at the top of the hot climate spicy food list, while Sweden, Finland and Norway are at the bottom. The United States and China are somewhere in the middle.

The "Eat-to-Sweat" hypothesis : People in steamy places eat spicy food to cool down with perspiration (like Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India).

Micronutrient hypothesis : Spices provide trace amounts of anti-oxidants or other chemicals to aid digestion.

The microbes are competing with us for the same food: Everything we do with food -- drying, cooking, smoking, salting or adding spices -- is an attempt to keep from being poisoned by our microscopic competitors. They're constantly mutating and evolving to stay ahead of us. So as one of the way, we reduce food-borne illnesses by adding another spice to the recipe. Of course that makes the food taste different, and the people who learn to like the new taste are healthier for it.

      Main spices and their effectiveness:
Garlic, onion, allspice and oregano are the best all-around bacteria killers.
Thyme, cinnamon, tarragon and cumin kill up to 80 percent of bacteria.

Capsicums, including chillies and other hot peppers kill or inhibit up to 75 percent of bacteria.
Black pepper, ginger, anise seed, celery seed, lemon juices inhibits 25 percent of bacteria.

To conclude, I would say that there is the bacteria-spice connection behind eating spicy food in India or other hot climate countries.

This isn't about stereotypes, but I have a question. It might be entirely my imagination though.

Is there some sort of symbolism to inviting someone over for dinner with the family? In the US, and I assume all other places in the world, it indicates friendship. But with Indians and Pakistanis it seems to carry more symbolism.

We treat our guests with utmost respect and hospitality: Atithi Devo Bhavah ( English: 'The guest is God' or 'Guest become God') is a motto that almost all Indians follow with utmost dedication and compassion. Even the poorest of the poor treat their guests to all kinds of luxuries.

Indians are very hospitable. Any queries?

Most of people on this site are blaming Indian Guys are Creepy and Perverted. As most of people might be aware that I post answers in Sexual Behaviour and Sexual Health topic to help people.

      I had posted legitimate opinion.

That girl is sending me this message to Finger her Pussy and to do Sexting.

Now I am asking you people.

Why you Girls blame Indian Guys that we are Creepy and Perverted?

From my point of view the reason are the girls who create different account every night to do their ritual

This is my personal opinion. I had attached one screenshot on that question.

Hinduism has only one god i. e. Lord Krishna and, under him there are many Demi Gods. Many people in India worship those Demi Gods along with God without having much knowledge about it.

In the same article which was published on 08-Dec-2006

      http://news.BBC.co.uk/2/hi/6161691.stm

Just quoting the statement which you had posted. Same article.

      *"
      'Not a problem'
Mr Puri said that since Indians would be embarrassed about going to a chemist to ask for smaller condoms there should be vending machines dispensing different sizes all around the country.
"Smaller condoms are on sale in India. But there is a lack of awareness that different sizes are available. There is anxiety talking about the issue. And normally one feels shy to go to a chemist's shop and ask for a smaller size condom."
But Indian men need not be concerned about measuring up internationally according to Sunil Mehra, the former editor of the Indian version of the men's magazine Maxim.
"It's not size, it's what you do with it that matters," he said.

The international average length is 5.6" (14.2 cm), and girth is 4.8" (12.3 cm) for erect penises.

There are no statistics for university majors. There are some for national group, however. One-and-a-half inches is small, everywhere.

      For your kind information.

Women's G-spot is actually only a max of 3 inches inside her vagina and so if the guy isn't so blessed in the trouser department there are still plenty of sex positions for a small penis to make sure woman get off - a lot!

@Being_a_good_Indian Dude stop this okay and its not some rocket science, its a fact that Indians have small cock. The value is low cuz of the Dark Skinned indians while northern ones or the one used to be part of India now Pakistan have the large sized cocks due to gay pathans and Dominant Punjabis. Indian value before 1947 seems to be 5.0.
It makes perfect sense cuz unlike the Indians they look more Western and in reality, they are by DNA test. I am amazed by some idiots claiming them Indian, DUDE you only got 27Million Punjabis or the one looking like them in India but they have 100Million+ back there with remaining looking alike them. So its in reality its Pakistan's population in India not the vice versa and they used to be part of India, now its not and they are very happy about this.

Don't worry about your size. No matter what size you are you'll always feel small. I mean it, yes I'm Indian and I'm 6.5 inch long and 5.25 inch thick, guess what I find myself to be small. And before I get a flood of messages saying I'm bullshitting, I'm not. Thanks to the flood of porn we try to find ourselves deficient. Stop watching porn, and make more time for foreplay with your partner. I know no one can assure me that I'm above average, I'll always feel small. The day I find this to be irrelevant, I'll find myself to be confident. Let it go, the percentage of men above 5.5 inch is too small, and trust me not every girl gets a big phallus to play with. So don't worry about your size, work on your charm.

Size matters if you are not confident. It doesn't matter if you are confident. Only a shallow woman will look for a big ding-dong.

I have a very good singh friend in Uk and he tried to hit on white tr... but She rejected him, and introduced me to this microscopic dick concept. I didn't believed her cuz I have 8+(Pujabi Jatt not Indian) and tried to challenge her,
He have double the length "You are bitching about" considering my size and him as punjabi but She was right and I have to show my dick to that party whore, white trash and complete piece of shit (worse than tori black) to prove my point. Then She publicly humiliated me by telling me my real country and She promised me not to tell anyone but,
She was western shit and western whores always spread gossip and then this thing spread in whole campus and destroyed my rather serious guy image. You can search online about dick size

How would the women know the size of his penis before agreeing to go on a date? Unless he was an asshole and sent her dick pix, she wouldn’t.

Of course, a guy with a small dick probably wouldn’t send dick pix. Even if you’ve got a big penis, don’t send unsolicited dick pix!

No need to search online. I already have information about that topic.

Do you think women walk around carrying rulers and ask to measure your penis before they agree to go on a date with you?

How would they possibly know how large or small your penis is? Everyone knows that if they ask, the man will lie.

Men worry about penis size far more than women.

ask your indian friends aboard and their failure stories about finding any woman to date them at all and if you are not that insecure, your kind won't be asking a question here in the first place."Woman do ask about it and it did matters" and She will dump you after first date, so please try to visit some western country to learn about theirs norms before saying anything.

*"you are living in the backward country.*"

If one individual close the eyes it doesn't make any country backward. Prove your point.

*"Woman do ask about the penis size on first date and no matter*"

While the size of a man’s penis is important to some women, most women are more interested in how the man uses his penis. From the female perspective, her man’s ability to stay hard and in control of ejaculation is so much more important!

If increasing your penis size is important to you, then I recommend a specific pelvic floor (PC exercise) to increase the size of the muscles which support the penis. Technically with this exercise you're increasing the muscles behind and around the penis which then adds to the size of the penis. Just remember to not become too focused on your penis if you want ejaculation control. Sex isn't just about your penis. It's about satisfying your partner with your overall technique.

Putting in place a nationwide three-digit number (such as 100) to respond to all emergency situations on the lines of 911 or 990 Emergency Management Systems in vogue in several developed countries and launching a sustained media campaign to stop rape are introduced..

The super power of the world is at the first position in the race of rapes. Males are majorly the rapist holding a proportion of 99%. Out of all the victims, 91% are females while 9% are males. The U. S Bureau of Justice Statistics states that 91% of rape victims are female and 9% are male, and nearly 99% of rapists are male. According to the National Violence Against Women Survey, 1 in 6 U. S. women and 1 in 33 U. S. men has experienced an attempted or completed rape in their lifetime. More than a quarter of college-age women report having experienced a rape or rape attempt since age 14. Out of all, only 16% of the total cases are reported. Outdoor rape is not common in USA rather most of the rape cases takes place inside homes.

Sri Lanka’s security forces are still raping and torturing suspects. There have been recent allegations that rape and torture by the Sri Lankan security forces have continued four years after the civil war ended. The UN Multi-country Study on Men and Violence found that 14.5% of the sample of Sri Lankan men had perpetrated rape at some point in their lives. 4.9% had raped in the past year. 2.7% had raped another man. 1.6% had took part in a gang rape. 96.5% of the men who had raped experienced no legal consequences. 65.8% didn’t feel worried or guilty afterwards. 64.9% of rapists had raped more than once, and 11.1% had raped four or more girls or women. That’s why the country has highest suicide rates in the world.

      @deaston

Rape has been widely underreported in America too. According to a new panel study by the National Research Council.

You can Google it and check it. In all countries it is the loophole. We can't generalize with specific country.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyan in the year 2014. The Swachh Vidyalaya Abhiyan and Rashtriya Swachhata Kosh were imbibed in the movement.

I see one toilet built as a real change. With over 31.83 lakh toilets built, massive public sector undertakings and avid participation, I do have complete hope and trust in this pioneering campaign.

‘Swachh Bharat’ is more than a campaign. It is an ideology.'

If you are asking because of one of the prank video on Internet then for your kind information it was not on Official Website of UNICEF. It was PRANK to harm the reputation on International Platform.

My dear @cstud310 - you are way off tangent.

Not just Indians but ALL Animals smell. Just differently. It really does not matter where they live, whether they shower, lick their fur or actually live in water.

Not all smells are equal though for humans. You would, normally,
      detest some (faeces)
be indifferent to some (depends on culture - a fisherman may love the smell of fish while a vegetarian could be driven round the bend by it)
love some enough to buy at high prices (musk).
