Unfortunately, you really can't ban religion. It's been tried in other countries and people always find a way to practice their religion in secrecy. Bans never work.
Hopefully one day we will outgrow our need for silly mythologies. Religion has caused more death and sadness than any other human foible. We'll all be much happier when we leave such foolishness behind.
No, i am a strong advocate for freedom and in fighting for it i must allow idea's even if i where to oppose them. So regardless of my views of religion the answer would always be that we should not ban religion. However i would be fine banning aspects of religion that go against laws in a country when these aspects limit the freedom of those who are in it. For example if the law describes you can do X but the religion says you may not the individual should have the freedom to do X.
Some would say that religion would incite hate and violence (which it has), but we shouldn't act like there are no peaceful ones. I don't recall ever seeing Jehovah's Witnesses blowing themselves up to destroy "infidels" in the name of their god.
Besides, one of the first freedoms given to us was that of religion. Take that away from them, what would that make us?
I feel the same way about it. as you do. I really don't care, believe in whatever you want to believe in is right for you since everybody is different anyway. Even if there were laws banning it, they still can't control how other people feel about things or what they want to believe in anyway so what's the point?
If it means unity under one religion, like a universal religion which ditches all current beliefs and is dedicated to the power behind the creation of life in a scientific manner then yes religion should be banned.
Because it's something people have no idea about but still believe it. I'd like to live in a world where these beliefs make sense. I can understand a belief in a power and calling that power God, because there has to be a reason why everything exists. Nothing just came out of nowhere, like everything, the universe must be having an origin right? Sometimes the simplest beliefs are the best. I believe in a God, not in stories made about them by humans.
I dont think so Because religion played an integral role to society to form communities and culture. Almost like a glue that brought regions of people together and and kept them loyal to one another
It might cause some issues today but maybe we wouldn't be as civilized without religion to begin with It's a toss up and hard to really say
I think religion is only negative. It is wors then drugs. We should fight against religion but not to ban it, we should fight religion with arguments. Only when religion tries to impose it self by violence (and sadly that often hapoen) then it is rightfull to oppose religion by force...
shouldn't be "banned' cause people need to be more disciplined. thats what makes a good society. and nobody seems to care about humanity anymore at least if people are god fearing or religious, they might harm others less with their actions and words. of course it shouldn't be mandatory.
Religion, a very widespread controversy and a wide spread cause of pain and suffering as well as death throughout the centuries. I am rather indifferent to a ban of Religion, It's going to lead to the same issues whether there is a ban on it or not. People will still do what they do, no matter what one does to stop it
I wouldn't ban the religion since I think people should have the right to choose. It's just that religion has such a big impact on everyday life which shouldn't be like that, I think religion or any kind of spirituality is something deeply personal. Religion itself isn't bad, but when people want to impose their own religion to everyone else, and any kind of extremism, that's when we have a problem.
I'm an atheist, and I find religion and religious people, annoying as hell. Nevertheless, religion should not be banned both because of the solace it offers it's believers, and because of the guidance it provides to the sociopaths who happen to be brought up in it.
However, religions should not get a free ride. All tax deductions and tax free laws relating to religion should be scrapped.
First we have to stop believing the lies, and look at the truth. Everyone's religeon should be a private and personal choice.
No religeon should expect or demand respect outside of the place one calls "church". No one should try to convert anyone, let them decide on their own. Its their salvation not yours. Advertise personally, but I am not about to believe just anything, and limit my personal choice of believing whatever I want.
i don't see any point in banning any religion. infact I think anyones thinking should not be imposed on other. means if i am a buddhist and you are christian you don't need to impose your rules in me and vice versa. everyone should have religious freedom. your religion should not harm me or other life form at the same time there should be religious equality. i will follow mine in mine house , and you follow in your house only.
Religion seems very harmful to me. Every religion is very "cultish" (at least from the ones I practiced/know of) and profit off the ignorance of others. They still cause the persicution of others and promote hierarchial structures that require that a group of humans are lesser than those of the religion. Bassicly it creates arrogant ass wads.
Religion is just a bunch of stories which created violence and death from mental people who believe that if they do a message from god (inner mental voice ) they'll go to heaven or somet. With religion they will never be peace without religion there will be peace.
I am very anti-religion ( more cynical about it) after growing up a devout Catholic and being shattered on the controversy over the rampant paedophilia in the Catholic church. that was even worse, covered up.
But it is a bastion of freedom of choice which i am passionate about
Religion. Is a believe and there are thousands if not millions of gods. And everyone believe they're right. They all can be right. So god can't be proven just like the Easter bunny. So it should be something to keep at home. God has created more problems then he solves. Plus all the wars.

HAH! Last time religion was banned... millions died. colodetoxs.net/.../...any-jews-did-hitler-kill.jpg

I remember reading somewhere on how certain amazon tribes that still live im the jungles were pretty savage with other tribes in that area
But when outsiders brough religion to them, i believe it was Christianity, it seemed to tone down that savage in them a little

I'm against ban. There are several reasons for it for which I think religion isn't a bad think for us. I wrote a Take about recently. Check it out.

To those voting yes, where do you think religions come from?
To ban them would be like banning people from painting, or writing poetry.
They all manifest from people trying to explain the world as an environment to survive in, to understand and respect.
