This guy I have a crush on added ME on facebook!

So, there is this guy at my school that I have a secret crush on, but like... no one knows about it! Well, I just think he is super cute and looks nice. I've never talked to him before, and I rarely seem him around school.

He added me on facebook one day, and I was super happy and I was really shocked! Of course I accepted, but I thought it was a little weird that he would add me even if we had never spoken to each other... He's not even in any of my classes and we don't have many friends in common.

He's actually a bit of a loser (not in a mean way) he just isn't very social and really focuses on studying (at least every time I see him, he is studying!)

I have a friend that is sort of friends with him, and she tells me he doesn't have many friends, and was really surprised to hear that he had added me on facebook. (He has like 200 friends and 10 pictures he is tagged in...)

So pretty much, do you think he likes me or like wants to get to know me? I really want to talk to him, but now it is just weird because its like we officially know each other, but we haven't officially met you know?

Like what do you make out of this situation? Should I try talking to him on facebook chat or talk to him in person? or would that be really awkward?

I had to make an account just so I can leave a response to this question. This situation arises way too much in my own life for me to not have input. I'll start by saying, if you think you and him are in the same league or are close, then there's a good chance that he's interested.

That's how I go about it.

The thing about facebook, is that it makes it so easy. Countless times has a girl added me, then I started speaking to her and found out that she was interested.

I usually just IM them and say "Did I add you or you add me?". This question of course is BS, because I know they added me. Then I ask them other questions and with a little push and pull flirtation, I eventually find out if they're interested. (They use a lot of smiles, they keep the convo going)

Try liking one of his statuses or just starting up a FB chat. If he doesn't have many friends, there's a good chance that he's interested.

It's also good that if he likes or comments on one of your statuses, you start up a conversation.

Facebook is a great medium for actually starting friendships, flirting, and hooking up. You just have to know how to use it's powers. The only downside is, if you talk to these people, nothing happens, then you see them in real life, it's kind of awkward.

i hate to play the devils advocate but for me when I friend someone on fb its really only because I recognized them from school, but I had hardly ever talked to any of them, it's mostly to add to my contacts, it could be the same for him, wait to see if he actually tries to chat with you on fb before deciding what this means

well he obviously he know whoa you are/recognises you from school if he has added you on facebook...but he may not like-like u, but you should definately say hi to him in person if you see him around or speak on chat first to break the awkwardness and then speak in person (just try not to make it an online relationship-make sure you speak in person too)

once he gets to kno you he may begin to like you back

If he doesn't have that many friends in real life and he has 200 friends on Facebook, I'm sorry, but it seems like he just added you for the sake of adding you, but who knows. Maybe he does.
