Chris Anderson and Paris Dunn were both double catfish to meet up with each other. The catfish that bought these 2 together had gotten nude photos out of Paris Dunn and then posing as her sent it to Chris Anderson. When the story broke that 40 yr old Chris had sex with a 17 yr old girl it caused national headlines and resulted in Chris home being invaded, him being kicked off the team and everyone in town referring him as a paedophile. Now, do you think it is justifiable to destroy a man's life over that?

As far as I can see - I did a bit of Google research that at the time Anderson received the photos he thought she was 21 and she was above the age of consent when they had sex - While maybe distasteful it was legal (I am only going on facts in the story I read) so I think the repercussions are too much.

Last time I checked, dating sites, for this exact reason, don't allow people under 18 to register. Meaning the guy could have never been under the impression that the girl is any less than 18 years old. And the girl doesn't look suspiciously young.

I say if she lies about her age, and there is clearly a case to be made that she was mature enough to be mistaken for an adult, I think it shouldn't be an issue.

Not to mention in many places 17 is above the age of consent.

Agreed. Statutory rape charges usually get dropped if the accused had a reason to believe they were having sex with someone of legal age. Rob Lowe got let off of his charge because he met the underage girl he slept with at a bar you have to be of legal age to get in. I don't know about the laws in the States but in Canada she could be charged with distribution of child porn regardless if they were of her or not.
