My opinion: I personally think it's wrong. Not only are there a lot of bacteria (kids have a lot of nasty ones, more than adults), but many kids think it's gross and the parents looks so confused. Kissing on the cheek, okay. Kissing on the lips, that's something you do with your girlfriend/boyfriend. Let kids be kids. Don't push your things on your kids! That's just so wrong and I bet you understand what I mean.
I don't think there's anything wrong with it. My mother and father used to kiss me on the lips. I used to kiss them on the lips whenever I was happy or excited. It wasn't sexual. It was just a way of showing affection. We see babies sucking their mother's breast to drink milk. It's just a mother feeding her child. We see birds passing food to her children using her beaks. It's normal. Some people will think it's wrong for parents to kiss their child on the lips, I think it's okay as long as it's like a peck, not a romantic/french kissing ones. Some people will sexualize anything, to be honest.
A child eating, a childbirth and birds can't be compared to parents kissing their children on the mouth. Kissing on the mouth shows affection between couples. It's something grown adults does. It's not healthy to normalize adults doing it to children and children needs to learn the boundaries. If the parents normalize it, strangers who are adults may break boundaries children aren't aware of. Children should be taught 'a no is a no' and that kids are kids.
Breasts aren't as sexual as mouths either. It's just that men wants women with breasts so they can feed their children.
Personally I think it's wrong; my parents never did it thank god, but I had an uncle do it once and it caught me off guard... I was 18. Don't think he meant it that way, but it felt kind of assault-y to me, definitely unwanted and gross. Cheek peck should suffice.
My grandmother sometimes touch her grandchildren on their butt how you touch good children on their heads or shoulders. It's also inappropriate, but she's a very old woman and doesn't understand it. If she was much younger, it would be easier to tell her since younger brains function differently.
Luckily I've no family members kissing children on their mouth that I've seen. I would hit them if they tried it on me regardless of my own age. Being forced to hug someone (which goes against my personal space) is bad enough. No kissing. Most family members are old.

They aren't tonguing their kids. A peck on the lips is a regular sign of affection and if you take it otherwise, the problem isn't with the parents, its on you for sexualizing something that isn't sexual like a fucking weirdo.

Usually when this happens it’s because the kid initiates it, at least from my experience. I think it’s fine. It’s not inherently sexual. If you tell them not to because it’s sexual then they’re going to start wondering why it’s sexual, and it leads to them thinking about their body in sexual terms. I don’t see a reason for parents to put boundaries up between themselves and their kids, so long as what they’re doing isn’t bad for the kid, physiologically or psychologically. If the parent thinks it’s weird, it’s fine to not initiate it, or to divert attention if the kid initiates it, but I don’t think the issue is with the action itself. It’s in society’s sexualisation of a completely plutonic act.
You tell my 3 year old he can't kiss mommy or daddy on lips he is going to throw the mother of all tantrums. I don't see why people have to sexualise everything. It's a way they communicate. Before my son could say love you we used to tell him we loved him and would respond with a kiss. That was his way of saying back. Now the little shit does try and lick your lips at times but we tell him no its dirty. As we don't want him doing to anyone else. Let kids be kids and Express them selves how they feel comfortable.
I understand where you are coming form but for some people it is not ''sexualizing'' it but it is kind of inappropriate. I think there is nothing wring with kissing your kids but I feel like a kiss on the cheek is better.
In my personal opinion I don't see anything wrong with it. The only thing that I would be concerned about it's like you said is germs and bacteria. At the same time if your intentions aren't correct oh, then it's best you just don't do it at all. Unless the child specifically said that they don't like it, it's best that you respect the child decision otherwise that's unwanted touching and not respecting the child. But it's a child doesn't mind it and actually loves it, then there's nothing wrong with it and is nobody else's business. I just personally say respect the child as you want that child to respect you. There were things that my mom did that I did not what done to me a certain way and sometimes she will grow huffy and upset. But as I got older she had to learn and respect that I am my own person and I too deserve to have my opinions heard.
My opinion I think it varies by age. Personally I refuse to kis babies anywhere near the mouth because it could be deadly.
Now in general I don't kiss kids on the lips unless they want to kiss me on the lips (I think kissing overall including my partners is gross.) But if I see a parent kiss their young child I think nothing of it really.
If I see a parent kiss a child 6+ I think it's a little weird and then I get more judgy as the kid gets older.
I think it's another way to show your kids you love them, because they watch their parents kiss all the time. To them it is pure innocence, but at some point as they age they need to be taught boundries.

Just because you don't like it doesn't make it improper. I kissed my mum on the lips as a young child and she kissed me back. It didn't make me uncomfortable and I know many other children do it too without issue. You're projecting your own feelings onto the subject. Kids don't see it as a "sexual" or "wrong thing". It's just a way to show affection.
Obviously, once the kids reach teen years then they shouldn't do it.
Why... I know many adults that are my age that kiss there parents on the lips. As long as the child and the parents are comfortable that’s all that matters.
There’s nothing sexual about it. I’m tired of posts and rants about this, like it’s jeopardising the child’s life. I see parents today giving a quick peck to their toddlers at times, as well as on tv, and the child reacts as happily as ever, just that gesture of parental love which not all kids are privileged to have. My mother kissed my lips now and then when I was small, and it even occurred once or twice in my adulthood too. I was never ashamed or embarrassed that it happened, because I love her too much and she won’t be around forever. I don’t want kids, but even if I had a daughter, I wouldn’t be entirely opposed to doing the same (a healthy amount of times) to show my love to my daughter while she’s still small and it’s endearing

I don't agree with your point on it being dirty though. When kids don't eat something often the parents have to finish it. And parents have to deal with a lot of dirty stuff to look after their kids anyway so I don't think that kissing makes that big of a difference. Plus mother and child have the same genes too so it isn't that harmful.
My younger sister would kiss me on the lips. When she was a little baby I kissed her on the lips and when she grew to a bit over a year old, she'd want to kiss me on the lips and there's nothing wrong with it. It's not like we would make out. Simple little pecks are perfectly fine. My sister would scream her lungs out if I never gave her a little peck.
I think it's ok. My parents and grandmother used to kiss me on the lips until i was like 7 years old and I didn't thought anything was wrong / bad with it. After personally I wouldn't do it, I find it a bit weird now as an adult to do that but as a child it didn't bothered. I was used to it so it was all normal to me. I was just shocked when my grandmother told me (when I was 7) that only husband and wife did that.
Close human contact is important for children to bond, feel safe, and develop normally. Also, those bacteria aren't a bad thing necessarily. Your kid isn't going go make you sick with a kiss, you would have gotten any diseases they have in other ways already anyways.

It’s okay until the child says they don’t feel comfortable with it. For example I used to be fine with it when I was young, but when people around me started kissing in the romantic way I didn’t feel comfortable with it anymore, so I told my parents and they stopped, it’s that simple.
If it’s a little kid, I don’t see a problem with it! One time I was hanging out at my friends house and her 2 year old she walked up to me and gave me a quick peck on the lips! I never met that toddler until that day! She was just showing it as a sign of greeting

My grandma who is 80 kisses me on the mouth sometimes... Parents who kiss their kids on the mouth is nothing. Heck I kiss my little 1 year old niece on the mouth.
It's absolutely fine, if you see it as anything else I have to wonder why you're sexualising kids and parents it's a simple peck, just a sign of love and affection in many countries they peck the lips as a greeting with strangers. Obviously if your child doesn't want to you shouldn't force them but there's nothing wrong with it.

I mean when i was very young my parents used to give me a peck on the lips, till i was like 5. I think its fine as long as the kid is still very young and its just a little peck on the lips and not making out with your kid lol.

I think it's okay up to like the age of 2. I know thats not wrong but like a parent giving their baby a peck onto he lips is just a little cute. But yeah there is a point where it's weird and you do just stop. Like when they develop some semblance of individuality and not just rolling around kicking then that's when it gets weird for me.
It can't be compared. Getting out of the vagina isn't the same as getting in the vagina. In addition you can't control the reproduction system, but you can choose to kiss your child or not.
That's just your personal culture. It's not wrong if it's not done with wrong intent and in other cultures it is quite normal. Until something irrefutably and seriously wrong happens, you be you and they will be them, live and let live.
I'm a bit bothered by it, which I am very upset that I actually react to it. It's definitely not wrong, or shouldn't be anyways. But I can't help by somehow reacting in a way or another, which sucks.
