Why do girls find men who are doctors instantly attractive?

I have heard and read that girls seem to be attracted to men who are doctors. Why is that? What is so attractive about male doctors?

Women often associate money with "why" they like doctors, but that's mostly the result of a lack of self awareness. If it were about money, there could be any number of professions at the top of the list. The reason "doctor" keeps being thrown around as one of the sexiest professions is because of what doctors represent. For someone to become a doctor he must have certain qualities: intelligent, educated, hard-working, and ambitious (He sets goals and achieves them.) He likely has these qualities: nurturing, attentive, considerate, dependable, respectful.
On a sub-conscious level he affects women because he gives them a sense of safety. Doctors are seen as healers, and protectors: confident and decisive. They save lives! This concept isn't wasted on the selectors of our species. As women who are the bringers of life into the world, we are naturally drawn to those who have the power to preserve and protect it. That's our evolutionary instinct at a primal level, so it makes sense why many women can't clearly understand or define their instant increase in attraction to a man once they find out he's a doctor.
The economic aspect only comes into play insofar as his ability to provide. It's not the money itself, but the industriousness and reliability he has in making it! Again, it comes down to primal desire. The want for a provider is really the modern day version of seeking a strong hunter-gatherer that will keep the family from starving.
So, when you hear women talk about how much money doctors make, chances are they aren't consciously processing how much of a difference they make.

the scrubs possibly? a man in uniform is just sexy. I love how I live like down the street from camp pedleton! :) but yes back to docs... theyre successful and smart. so right away a doctor is going to be great because they have their priorities straight. but I mean there def are down falls. theyre going to be constantly busy and you'll hradly see them. and theyre always on call! so I mean, though they may seem well put together, their personal lives might be way different.

Money. Being a doctor is a licence to print money. A doctor is educated, wealthy, offers a high living standard, high social status, lots of holodays abroad, a girls parents would be happy. Not to mention wrapped candies. Could you give a girl wrapped candies? Not mention when people ask what her ehat her husband does she can say"oh im married to a doctor".

I believe that it's mainly because men are considered as an authority. Women are psychologically attracted to leaders, and a doctor is kind of a leader - in our case of his nurses and of his patients.

Smart, uniform, knows the female body, decent income what girl wouldn't think a doctor is attractive? lol Think about it this way, a lot of guys think that nurses are attractive, well a doctor can take the place for the nurse and put it in a women's view and it makes more sense.

It is assumed doctors have money. Though I honestly wonder how long it takes to pay off all those years of school loans. It doesn't matter if our taste are inexpensive or we make enough money on our own to support our lifestyles we still like knowing our man can spoil us rotten.

it's the appeal of them being successful, as well as really intelligent. I wonder though, do men find female doctors attractive? just cause that's what I'm going to be, I'm studying biology and pre-med, and going to be a surgeon :P

it's a prestigious occupation to hold; doctors are respected worldwide. it's not entirely about the money since doctors are earning way less than they used to, say compared to 50 years ago.

Money, prestige, intelligence and so on. To be honest doctors are not perceived as hot. People see them as a good marriage material (which they are btw).
