Well, here's how we're fed information these days about masculine and feminine.
Masculine: Awkward, jagged, hairy, smelly, etc. The more you hide, the better.
Feminine: Graceful, soft, beautiful, easy on the eyes. The less you hide the better.
It's been found that generally, women find other women more physically attractive than men.
The image of beauty is that of a woman.
In any sitcom, people want to peek at a naked woman, and vomit at the sight of a nude guy. (except a few newer ones.)
So, does it not make sense that the feminine might be becoming a preferred form in BOTH genders?
Personally, I don't think this is necessarily the case, it's subject to too many individual preferences, (and time of the month). Some girls just really like feminine features. I suppose a feminine face on a masculine body? Others like the stereotypical male.
It's kinda like preferring certain more boyish traits in women, like I do. Smaller chests, less pronounced curves, straight-forward way of thinking. The only reason this may have not been the case before, is because men had to like womanly women, and women had to like manly men. The mind is built to meld into social circumstances. now that gender roles are starting to take a break, some more androgynous preferences are emerging.
Efron's not much of a pretty boy anymore. Last time I saw him, he'd put on quite a bit of muscle mass. And I beg to differ. I know so many girls that are with men who have stubble and beer guts.
I like a variety of men. I mean Zac and beiber are never really my types, but I think it has more to do with my love for dark eyes and hair than anything else. You don't understand because you don't like men :p
It's not just about masculine and feminine. I don't see anything wrong with either. My current boyfriend is pretty masculine but chubby, he's hairy and strong and I love every inch of him :) One of my exes had soft facial features with naturally straight black hair and I liked him a bunch, too.
Variety is key; I don't see the point in limiting who I fall for based on yesterday's rules of masculinity and femininity.
Maybe back in the day Zac Efron was very feminine looking, but not so much now.
Anyway - I myself, am not attracted to guys who look feminine; I prefer a more masculine, scruffy looking guy. But others aren't. It's nothing to do with struggling with their sexuality - just what attracts them; a lot of people who are, are young, and thus are attracted to guys who look young. Boyish good looks, and then grown out of it as they, and these men, age.
Different people are attracted to different things; some girls are attracted to guys with "pretty" features; some aren't. It has nothing to do with struggling with your sexuality. Guys with "pretty" features fall into the wide spectrum of "what men look like". There is not one way in which men should/do look.

i don't know what you mean by ""feminine "" guys. males, like females, come in different forms and formats.
they have everything a male body has. they are good looking. they look sensitive and caring. what's not to like?
I'd say it's because people care less about the idea of masculinity, and go for what they find attractive instead.
If there's anyone struggling with their sexuality, it's the guys who are trying hard to be more like "men".
Probably because I'm turned off by the macho type, so I'm most comfortable with a guy who's far from that.
Some are still little girls and wouldn't feel comfortable with anything manly (sort of like the girls who don't like muscle on a guy) or yeah, they're struggling with their sexuality or they're falling for influence and mass media.
The guys with softer features, also are more sensetive, and are better husbands supportive men. And defenetly less aggresive.
Not all women are attracted to "feminine looking guys", I believe that women base their "likings" towards certain men based on their father figures.
lol OK, Zac Efron eyebrows are waaaay too bushy. Justin Beaver would pass more as a girl than Zac could.
