Why are there so many funeral adverts on TV at the min?

Like a lot of people I'm stuck at home watching crap on TV. One thing that's struck me is the sheer number of funeral plans being advertised. Every other advert seems to be some old guy looking forward to his funeral because he's got some great value cremation package or something. Is daytime TV always like this or is it related to the fact most people will die soon with covid-19?

The funeral parlors are optimistic. They think there are going to be a lot more deaths. What they don't realize is that everyone, including themselves, are going to die from this plague. Homo sapiens are doomed! LOL

In all seriousness, this is a great time for funeral parlors to advertise because the public's minds are obsessed with death right now. So they'll be more amenable to making plans for their immanent demise.

Probably a pretty good guess, hit people while there worried about their loved ones so you can take there inheritance to bury them so the kids don't get it. Sad

yeah thats it lol... more likely the travel ban and lack of income though... the rest are funeral plans and its those companies that are just cashing in because cover offwred by those plans doesn't actually kick in for at least the first 12 months anyway

You just weren't so aware of daytime TV previously. Daytime adverts are aimed at old codgers, so sell funeral insurance, equity loans, stair lifts, etc.

I have not seen any of that here in the US but the news certainly is saying a whole lot of stuff about morbid stuff all day. They gotta be doing this to get in our heads and push more fear.

Busy time for Funerals. In New York you can even get a funeral anymore. All the places are too busy. They are now burying people in mass graves.
