Any tips for hitting up my first college party?

I'm going with my sister and some of our friends to a frat party tomorrow night. I'm not planning on getting too drunk, I know my limit, but I've never really partied before...

I'm wearing a cute outfit and so is my sister. We both want to find guys to just dance and have a good time with. ;)

So any tips for my first college party?

P.S. I don't condone underage drinking but I'm in my freshman year, turning 21 in June and in need of some f***ing good times.

Hope you have a good time! As someone who used to throw the parties, I'd give this advice:

Set limits with yourself BEFORE going out and stick to them! Alcohol, even a little, can affect a brain's judgement. If you have made yourself a limit beforehand, it's easier to stick to. This includes: how drunk you get, how late you stay out, if you dance up on guys, if you go anywhere after the party.

Generally, stay with your friends. People you know do not necessarily count as friends. People whom you trust to hold you accountable and who are depending on you to hold them accountable.

Tips: If a guy wants you to go to his room, just for a shot, just for a second, etc. He probably wants to do more than make out. This is your call, but be careful.

If it is indeed a fraternity that is worth a damn at all, they should have an older brother or an officer who is sober and watching things at the house. Figure out who this is immediately upon getting there. If you get separated from your friends or something else should happen, find this guy IMMEDIATELY. Again, if it's a reputable house at all, the chapter will get in BIG trouble if something bad happens to a guest, so they want to make sure you're having fun (because fraternities live or die by a good rep with girls) and staying safe.

If your sister knows older people, have them introduce you to some of the younger people. It's a good way to get a scouting report on who's cool and who's lame/creepy/etc.

Finally, don't go anywhere in the house that isn't the main event with someone who isn't a brother. Some of these houses are pretty old and pretty big and it's easy to get lost.

That said, fraternity parties are just like any other party, with a few ADDED safety nets, for the most part. Again, the brothers get in deep sh*t if something happens to you, so make sure to know who they are. Be safe and have fun!

:)? Did someone say frat party? Well for sure there will be some upcoming amateur sex offenders there :). Or a lot of them depending on how totally epic the party is.

It might be scorching at a frat party depending on how many people are there. If there is a gazillion and a hundred of them are dancing that is going to create a lot of searing heat.

Watch out for roofies, friend of mine got roofied and totaled her car. ><. She still doesn't have any memories of that night, just a humongous car bill to pay for.

Bathroom lines long. :). Some girls actually go outside. Gotta do what ya gotta do.

YAY for the cute outfit! There tend to be girls there that reveal a little to much for some reason. o.O

But hey yes totally have fun. Sticking around friends is probably the best way to stay safe from any creeps/weirdos. Use common sense, and party the night out! WOOT WOOT!

frat parties are the best!

my recommendation is just to go without any certain expectations. just go and have fun. drink but moderately. flirt but don't sleep with anyone. just since it's the first time. Once you get used to it then depending on how comfortable you are with it, do whatever you like. but just this once, I recommend moderation.

PS I guarantee you will have fun. frat parties are the best. ugh

Not to sound like a party pooper, but make sure you leave with the same people you came with. Leave no one behind.

Never leave your drink unattended, if you do, get a new drink

There are going to a sh*t load of drunk guys there looking only for sex, so yeah...

Hey just watch out because there are some creepers around college parties. At a frat party there is a lot of hooking up going on. If that's what your looking for your going to the right place.

That being said, just have a good time limit yourself on your drinking, because If its your first party your going to be excited and letting lose. There are a lot of partys going on this weekend because of spring break. Should be an awesome time.

Stay around friends, don't drink anything that's been left open, don't get too wasted/drugged/whatever, don't stay too long into the night cause well.. if it's like most frat parties I've seen and that have been around my college it'll probably get wild and people will get in trouble.

Have fun, but stay safe :\ too many horror stories from frat parties. No need to be another.

Just take note of the guys you're talking to there. Don't be surprised if a ton of them just want a hook-up/one-night stand. It's a frat party, after all. Speaking from experience.

Well, don't drink too much. Guard your drink at all times. Dance constantly. And if you find a guy to have fun with...give him a bj he'll never forget. That's what I would do.

My tips are, don't drink and keep awake and don't let guys sneak their into your private parts...have fun but keep your eyes 10 on 10...don't be late at night so you come back home comfortable...

Don't dance with the guys that just wreak of booze or seem gone with the wind lol. Go with the biggest group of good friends you can and try to stay within a distance you can see most of your friends at all times so y'all can stay out of trouble.

The parties I've been to never showed any signs of that. Maybe it's because I'm in WI and people go more to get f***ed up than to get f***ed. I can't say I've ever heard someone talk about getting some from a party.
