The toilet seat issue is an example of female entitlement syndrome. Women believe the way they want the toilet handled is the "correct" way, but that is an outdated and sexist concept. The truth of the matter is that men and women both use the toilet and both of their preferences regarding the toilet seat should get equal consideration.
Men will always stand to pee (sorry ladies) and women do not have the right to ask them not to. BUT, men should put the seat up so they don't pee on it. That is common courtesy. But they should NOT be required to put the seat back down when they are done simply because that's what women want. Women are just as capable of putting the seat down before they use the toilet as men are of putting it up, and we should both share equally in that responsibility.
Sorry ladies, but it's time you learned to work the seat, just like us men. If you don't want pee on the toilet seat, be grateful your man puts the seat up, and share in the responsibility instead of holding on to your entitlement.

In my house, the seat AND the lid get closed. Part of the reason is the toilet is right next to the sink cabinet. It wouldn't take hardly any effort to knock something into the toilet.
Additionally, since I have to lift the seat AND the lid to pee, the least the girls can do is lift the lid. I guarantee making then check, has prevented them from sitting down on a bare toilet with the seat up!
Finally, studies have proven that thinks like toothbrushes and hair brushes in a bathroom are far less likely to have bacteria from a toilet on them if the lid is closed when flushing.
Obviously I prefer it down, but it's not the end of the world or fight worthy if I'm the one who has to make the adjustment.
I can always tell that my husband's friends are single when they come over and use the bathroom and leave the seat up 😂
Gross! Well, it is always nice if it is down. Especially if you have a smaller butt so you don't fall in. After all, it is a throne, not a bidet.
Thanks for leaving the seat down.

The point of manners is to be considerate to others. 'Leave things the way you left them.' I was taught this by my English granny, and I have always stuck by it. I will lift the lid and put it back down again. Also if I ever made any messes, I would immediately clean up. (I hope that's just a google image you chose... because I wouldn't go near that toilet.)
So therefore, I do expect those living with me to be the same standard. As a man, you should lift the lid to prevent messes, and then put it back down again. Its simple attention to detail. If you family members aren't sticking by the rule, make it a proper rule, tell them straight, put a sign in the bathroom if you must. When it comes to the comfort of the whole family you don't have to beat around the bush, be straight forward.Always up. Suppose a house with 3 guys and 3 girls.
If the guys always leave it up and the girls always leave it down, the number of times the girls have to put it down is the same time as the number of times the guys have to put it up. So it's the fairest way.
If the guys have to put it up, use it than put it down, they amour making all the work and girls are doing none. Total unjustice , might as well move to north koreaThe things guy don't understand is that women have it hardwired in their minds to SIT in order to pee. Guys don't think about it because they can stand. Well guess what happens at night time when us girls are drowsy and too tired to see if the seat is down?
WE FALL IN. Very uncomfortable and if there's pee or poop in there? Ugh. If you live alone it's fine. But if you live with girls, please put the seat down or at least leave the light onWhen each person is done in the bathroom they should leave the toilet how the other person in the house wants it. If I’m living with a guy I’ll leave the seat up and he can leave the seat and lid down.
I never really had a problem with it until I got pregnant. As it was only a 2 second job to put it down before I did my business. But being pregnant made it harder for me when bub sat on my bladder. And falling in wasn't very fun trying to get out pregnant.
Both the seat and lid should be down after using it.
Sadly though it would probably be quicker to train a monkey to do this, than most guys.My husband doesn't even put it up to pee so it's never a issue
Long as you clean it up after you use it, I don’t care. Flipping it down takes less than a second.
I put the toilet seat up when I go pee pee then after I'm done with peeing I put the toilet seat down.
You should be closing the lid anyway I've never understood this argument.
All that text? Dear lord. And for a fucking toilet seat. OMFG
@kenFold
Why did you show us a photo of your nasty toilet? That toilet seat looks so unclean that would make me puke if it were shown to me in real life.
It should be down. So should the lid.
