I always close it after I'm done but always get mixed emotions when I'm confronted for accidentally leaving it open and completely singled out since I do live with my girlfriend, her mom, and little sister and usually the obvious finger gets pointed at me. I dont mind shutting it one bit, but when I'm bitched at for forgetting to do something that no body else does, I speak up. So after they reminded me to respect them and think of others in the house not just my self. I happily agreed and said it won't happen again. So I asked if they would show me the same equal respect by closing the lid when they were finished. They were appalled that i would even have the audacity to ask such a request and the disgusted looks as they were describing and demonstrating the process of actually doing it. I didn't think they would have such problem doing there part in returning the bathroom to the same condition it was when they first entered the facility to use it. After all, I was just being grilled the same way many men do for being so careless and disrespectful to women by forgetting these imperative actions that are required to be followed in order to prevent an accidental plunge into the water cause they didn't look first,, oh that's my fault too. I'm curious to see what opinions others have cause I really had no idea they would have made such a big deal about using the finger they just wiped their ass with, to hook to the top lid and let it fall so it is horizontal to the toilet and laying flush with the seat. That's how the toilet was made and how it was designed to be used. Any other condition than this is rude, crude, disrespectful, trashy, and just off putting for anyone that has to use a bathroom man or woman. I know it sounds petty to. make such an ordeal about something so minisquel but hey, I thought the same thing when you were bitching when I left it up the first time. But I'm sure its.. different... cause I'm a guy, thought we're equal?
