Guys Keeping a Diary?

Recently I've found myself kind of depressed and just wanting somebody to talk to and having graduated High School last year, most of my friends have moved away or were always busy between work and school and schedule's don't work out to where we can talk so I have started writing a diary kind of just to let my sadness, frustration, etc.. out

Does it seem weird for a guy to keep a diary?

I know most guys call them a journal but let's be honest it's the same thing and the name changes nothing. I'm just going to call it what it really is.

No, I don't think it's weird. I think more guys should. Guys have feelings too! I'm glad some know how to express them. I don't like it when a guy pretends he doesn't have feelings. It's such a turn off. Girls just don't have feelings- you have feelings because your human! I've kept a diary since I can remember. I enjoy writing and writing about stuff. It is very relaxing to get things out even if it's just on paper. Its helped me a lot. And I love going back and rereading it. I love recording memories. I agree that everyone should keep one. I like your perception of things lol. I was considering it too, but more for personal development. But memories should be cherished so, I suppose that's another pro for me starting a journal. Specially since I turned 19 2 weeks back. Id like to really start acknowledging my progression in myself.

It's not weird for a guy to keep a diary at all. Everyone expresses themselves differently, some through music, some through art, some through sports and some through dancing ect... I express myself through fighting sports, music and art. I don’t have the will to write my feelings, thoughts and experiences down, however. Diaries just aren’t my thing.

It's not weird for guys to keep a JOURNAL (see,I emphasized,cause that's what you should call it,you're not a 6y/o princess) but if anyone finds it,oh dude you're f***ed,noone will be able to stop them from teasing you-but just know in your mind,it's not wrong,people are just pricks so they make fun of what they don't understand

No, it's not weird at all. Everyone should do this. Spend some time thinking about what you have done or others have said...it will really help you goet through times when you feel alone.

I kept a diary when I was a kid, but then I found my mother reading it and had to kill her. I can't really recommend them.

no it don't think it weird but most guys who have a diary claim that its a journal or whatever :p my advice to you is to keep it online don't write it in a notebook cause chances are people will put their hands on it

online/computer is hard. Even tho I am a Web Designer and I spend most of my day on a computer that little time when I actually write something makes it feel more relaxing. I'm intending to keep it in between my mattresses so that people won't be able to find it unless they specifically look for something under there.

Yeah, its OK; I kept a journal when I traveled across Europe. A lot of great books were based on the authors' personal diaries.
